Crosstagging
Hey babies! Lately I’ve been seeing a huge uptick in NSFW posts being tagged as regression, and regression posts being tagged as ddlg. Neither of these things are okay! Crosstagging is very harmful and neither the agere community nor the cgl community condone it.
To start off, lets talk about the differences between agere, agedre, and cgl!
Agere: Short for Age Regression. Age regression is most often used as a coping mechanism for those who have suffered childhood trauma, mental illness, forced maturity, or other similar events. When a person is regressed they are essentially an actual child. They are not pretending or acting, they are a child when they are regressed.
Agedre: Short for Age Dreaming, created by @agedre. Similar to agere, but it is voluntary and controllable by the person. One who is “child-like, acts as a child completely nonsexually, or who’s headspace is both “child” and “adult” (aka. not fully “regressed”)” Agedre can be used as a coping mechanism but is also heavily used just for fun!
CGL: Short for Caregiver Little. CGL is the gender-neutral alternative to ddlg and it’s varients. CGL is a kink, a form of roleplay, involving a sub x dom dynamic between consenting adults. Involves Age Play, which is an umbrella kink term. The Little is not regressed. They are assuming a sexual role, they are not regressed and retain their adult headspace.
Neither Agere nor Agedre are sexual. CGL, ddlg, and other similar varients are kink communities. Before I continue, I have something that I would like to explain. There is nothing inherintly wrong with the CGL community. Many regressors seem to believe that the CGL community is full of bad people who want to harm and sexualise them. While there will always be bad people in any community, that is not the point of CGL.
Now, let’s talk about which communities are safe for minors to be a part of!
Agere: Safe for minors to take part in. Any age is capable of regressing. It is entirely, 1000% non-sexual.
Agedre: Safe for minors to take part in. Any age is able to keep in touch with their child-like side. Like agere, agedre is entirely, 1000% non-sexual.
CGL: NOT safe for minors to take part in. Legally, only adults are capable of consent. CGL is a kink-based, sexual community that is explicitly for consenting adults. Minors invading the CGL community puts every party involved in danger.
SFW CGL is not a real thing. Because CGL is a kink-based community, it can never be SFW. Even if the post in question doesn’t explicitly reference sexual acts, if it is refering to CGL then it is NSFW.
My account is both a regression and a CGL account, which tag set should I be using?
Don’t do this! The agere community and the CGL community should not be mixed. While it is perfectly acceptable if an adult regressor also participates in CGL, the two should never be mixed at the same time. If your account is a mix of the two you should have two seperate accounts, one for your regression and one for your kink life.
Can’t CGL and DDLG also be sfw terms?
No they can not! The DD in DDLG stands for “Daddy Dom”. A “Dom” or a “Dominant” is a sexual term that refers to a sexual exchange of power, therefore it can never be used in a SFW context.
Now, let’s finally get into which tags are for which community and which tags are non-existant or misleading!
Agere and Agedre Tags: These tags are entirely non-sexual and completely SFW!
CGL and Varient Tags: These tags are kink-based tags and are not safe for minors nor are they related to age regression or age dreaming!
Misleading and Non-existant Tags: These tags are ones that are misleading about the content, and that are contradicting!*
*Anything that says SFW but still refers to a kink community is misleading! SFW kink does not exist!
Multi-Community Tag: This is a tag that is neither inherently sexual nor is it inherently non-sexual! It has it’s place in both communities, so it is up to the posters discretion as to whether they want to use it or not!
Why is crosstagging harmful?
Crosstagging is harmful because it leads to comfusion between the tow communities. Not to mention, many regressors and dreamers may have sexually-based trauma and being exposed to NSFW concepts can trigger them. Having your coping mechanism sexualised and having kink invade your safe-space can feel violating and intrusive as well as triggering.
Kink communities also do not want to be thought of as children. They are consenting adults, and they do not want people to think that they condone children participating in their community!
What does all of this mean?
This means that agere, agedre, and CGL (ddlg) are all very different, and should not be mixed! SFW and NSFW communities are different and should not be mixed or confused for one another! If you are an age regressor or an age dreamer you should not be using CGL tags, and if you are an Age Player or a kinkster you should not be using age regression or age dreaming tags!
