You were awoken by the sound of curtains being open. Sun was shining and you could make out the noises of your servants. You opened your eyes and sat up. One of the girls came in front of you to look at your wounds. Your hair was a mess, your left cheek was light pink and you could see purple spots on the neck. "My princess…’’ ‘’No. Don’t say anything. Just help me dress.’’ ‘’But my princess I have to…’’ ‘’I said NO!’’ You looked at her angrily which shut her. She bowed and went quickly to pick a gown and jewels to wear today. You stood up and went to sit in front of your vanity where your other servant girl waited. She started to comb your hair in silence. You were feeling tired and your head hurt from Daemon's yelling the night before. You have always believed that your brothers would never hurt you, but remembering what Daemon did yesterday just broke your heart. The way he yelled at you, raised his hand against you and threatened to kill Aemond and every green who has laid their hands on you. You just hoped that the day would go quickly and peacefully.
‘’Viserys is dead.’’ You froze. There was silence for a few seconds. You fell on the couch by the fireplace and put your hand on your chest. You looked at the fire, breaking down before Alicent and Helaena who were in the same room. Helaena came next to you and took you into her embrace. ‘’Please don’t cry, aunt,’’ she said with her dreaming voice, Alicent just sighed and looked at you with sympathy. Helaena was trying to wipe your tears when they heard the door opening. They looked to see Aemond with shock in his eye. When he saw you in Helaena’s embrace and heard you sobbing he automatically ran to you.
Some time later everyone calmed down. Helaena was off with her children, Aegon was still missing, Alicent walked in the room, waiting for news of Aegon while Aemond sat in a chair front of the fireplace and you on the floor in front of him. You looked at the fire, while he played with your hair and neck, thinking what is gonna happen now. The future of the realm. The future of the crown. The future of…you. You put your hand on Aemond’s and turned around, looking up to him. ‘’Where is Rhaenys? Has she heard the news already? And Rhaenyra? What about her and….’’ Aemond leaned more ahead to look you in the eyes and took your hands into his. ‘’You don’t have to worry about anything. Mother and I will deal with everything. I promise you. We will send raven to Rhaenyra and inform her. Rhaenys already left after hearing the news. You don’t worry your head, grief Viserys and we deal with everything else.’’ He brought your hands to his lips and kissed them. You smiled at him, "thank you Aemond. I am really thankful.’’ He gave you a small smile and looked at you. Someone coming in took your attention. It was Ser Criston. ‘’Prince Aegon is nowhere to be found, Your Grace. Your dad sent Ser Erryk to the city to find him.’’ ‘’Ser Erryk knows Aegon. He has an advantage.’’ Criston looked at Aemond then you. You looked at him with a suspicious and confusing look. You never have liked him, ever since the wedding day. Alicent walked to him and whispered something. Aemond turned your head gently to the fire again so you don’t see or hear them and started playing with your hair again. When suddenly Aemond said, "I’ll come with you,’’ and stood up slowly to not step on you or your dress. ‘’That’s not my desire, Aemond.’’ He walked in front of Alicent and they took each other's hands. ‘’If something should happen…’’ ‘’Cole needs me, mother! Ser Erryk is not the only one who knows about Aegon’s doings.’’ There was silence where Alicent looked at Cole who nodded to assure her that everything will be alright. You stood up slowly to not interrupt the conversation. Aemond looked at you, ’’you stay with aunt y/n. She needs you.’’ Alicent smiled a little and nodded. Aemond looked at you once more and then left with Criston. Alicent looked at you smiling but you could make out worry. ‘’He’ll come back, with Aegon,’’ put it was more to her. You were starting to suspect things. Something didn’t feel right...
You were sitting in your chambers, behind your desk. For some reason you didn’t believe Aemond. You knew the tension between your family very well. You took it upon yourself to write to Rhaenyra as fast as possible. You looked at the paper thinking how to start. You took the pen and wrote:
I am so sorry to deliver such news to you like this but, your father has passed. My deepest sympathy. We expect you back to King Landing as fast as possible for the funeral and of course for your crown. I know Viserys would like you to take the throne before Aegon. They are planning something, I don't know what yet. It’s safer if you, Daemon and your children come here the moment you get the letter.
You read the letter again and folded it. You sighted and stood up. You were gonna send the letter at night when everyone was sleeping but for now you needed to get your head clear.
You walked through the Red Keep, trying to find someone who could maybe know some news about Aegon and Aemond. You walked past the throne room doors. You could hear noises and talking. You tried to go closer and open the doors when some other noise interrupted. The sound was a loud bang. You looked at the throne room doors and then walked away to find the other noise. You arrived in front of Rhaenys’s chamber. You could make out walking sounds. You tried to open it but the door was locked from outside. Now you were very confused and little bit scared. You opened the lock and walked inside, closing the door behind. ‘’Cousin!’’ Rhaenys said and walked to you to hug you. You hugged back strongly. ‘’Rhaenys? What…What’s going on?’’ She ended the hug and looked at you with a strong look. ‘’I don’t know. I woke up this morning and the door was locked. I haven’t seen anyone the whole day. And no escape out.’’ ‘’What? But who could do such a thing? I promise you, I will find them and kill them myself,’’ you started to walk out again but Rhaenys grabbed your hand. ‘’I don’t think you are able to burn your own family,’’ you looked at her confused, but then you realized what she meant. ‘’No, Rhaenys, they wouldn’t.’’ ‘’Think now. Viserys is dead, am I right? Rhaenyra is away and doesn’t even know he is dead. It's a perfect opportunity to put Aegon on the throne now.’’ You looked her in the eyes, you could feel light tears forming. ‘’They told me you left the moment you heard the news. They promised to write to Rhaenyra.’’ Rhaenys looked at you with sympathy. She shook your arm. ‘’Don’t cry. You have to get away from here quickly. You have to fly to Dragonstone and warn Rhaenyra. Now that Aegon is gonna be king, your future has also been decided.’’ You shook your head. ‘’What about you? I will not leave you here.’’ ‘’No. You can get away with your dragon. I’m locked up here. If they find out they will suspect you. I will find another way. You have to go. Now.’’ You looked at her one last time and walked out fast. You felt sick in your stomach. They lied to you the whole time. They never intended to be loyal to Viserys’s wishes. They betrayed Viserys, they betrayed the realm, the crown, Rhaenyra and…you. You were gonna take your important things and cloak and run to your dragon and fly away.
When you walked into your chamber you froze. ‘’Aemond?’’ You saw Aemond sitting behind your table, holding the letter. He put the paper down and looked at you. ‘’You were gonna betray my brother?’’ You looked at him in disbelief, ’’you betrayed MY brother. Rhaenyra is his heir and you know that.’’ Aemond stood up and walked slowly to you. He grabbed your jaw and cheeks harshly to make you look at him. He smirked, ‘’hm, and now you wanted to run away from us. From me. Let me tell you something. After Aegon is crowned as king, mother promises to wed us. Do you really think they would want you? Forgive you? Do you think they wouldn’t consider you a traitor after they get news of you being wed to me and carrying my child inside you?‘’ You looked at him with fear and anger. ‘’They would. They would know I was forced.’’ Aemond hummed with a smirk. He looked at your neck and touched the light purple spots on it. ‘’Rest. Tomorrow will be big day.’’ He let go of your face and left. You could hear the door's lock, knowing the bastard just locked you inside just like Rhaenys.
Now you were really a prisoner. A hopeless one.
You woke up the next morning with a headache. The headache being Alicent Hightower. You talked with her about the situation. You told her that what she was doing was treason and you would never support Aegon, no matter how much you loved him.
Somehow, like the fool you were, you still ended up in Dragonpit between Aemond and Helaena. You listened to how the people cried out and complained. You haven’t seen so many people since the coronation of Viserys. Suddenly soldiers came and made a path. When the trumpets started to play you saw Aegon walking, who looked very tired and uncomfortable. You looked away with an annoyed face to show your disapproval. When Aegon reached the steps he walked up slowly to his mother. He glanced at you for a moment, you could see in his eyes fear and insecurity. The crown was taken out and while placing it on his head high septon blessed his reign and named him the King. People started to cheer, you saw from the corner of your eyes how Helaena kneeled hesitantly and how Aemond bowed his head respectfully, while you looked at him, unmoving. Someone yelled ‘King Aegon’ which took your attention and made you disgusted. Aegon raised his sword and the crowd went even more crazy.
For a moment you heard a weird sound, like an earthquake and felt wind. And suddenly the stone floor of Dragonpit blew up. You heard stones falling and people screaming of terror. From the smoke you saw Rhaenys and her dragon Meleys approaching. You smiled at her knowing this is your chance to get away. But you saw another big figure coming out of the hole. It made a louder and stronger roar than Meleys. It was a bit bigger than her. You recognised them right away, ‘’(dragon’s name)!’’ You didn’t wait any longer and just ran as fast as possible to your dragon. Aemond ran after you to catch you but your dragon’s head came between and in that moment they and Meleys roared in sync to their enemies. Aemond stopped and looked at you when you were up on your dragon. ‘’The wedding has to wait. I have a queen to bring back.’’ You gave a death stare to him and Alicent. This was your chance to kill them. To burn them to the ground. But looking at Alicent's and Aegon's scared faces you just couldn't say the Word. They were still your family and you could never have the heart to be a kinslayer. You heard doors being closed, ‘’we have to go!’’ Rhaenys yelled and you both got away barely before the doors closed. The fresh and warm air hitting your face up in the sky was a blessing. Freedom. You haven’t rode with your dragon for so long, the view, the feeling, you just couldn’t describe it. You were finally free and on the way to Dragonstone.
