I think a big reason that I love Colin Robinson when I usually hate characters that are intended to be annoying is that Colin Robinson is meaning to be annoying. I don't get any second hand embarrassment from him because every cringe inducing thing he does he very much enjoys doing. He is doing it all on purpose and he loves it, so by extension I can live it too
