let me tell you it's hard to be a Raijinshuu fan because they've gotten lowscaled and bad/lazy writing that doesn't do them justice ever since BoF or maybe Tenrou

I love that they're cocky and know that they can kick ass, it's ic, and I could actually see them doing this for real but come on. as though Freed couldn't just have cancelled all magic, like he did before.

if the fight ends without any of the Raijinshuu even going to half of their limit, you know shit's been pulled at them heavily again

I will only accept Gray defeating all three of them with Devil Slayer magic after a good, legit fight especially because Freed has a sort of demon and darkness magic and part of Bickslow's magic is black too (and Ever arguably the 'weakest' of the three, while weak is by no means a right word to describe her) and Devil slayer magic is supposed to defeat those kinds right?

anyway.

what about their eye magics?

we gonna ignore those again because it would be inconvenient?

because one time eye contact could end it all?

because Freed doesn't even require eye contact to use his and he has only showcased one spell of Jutsu Shiki thus far, which is already impressive again because of the speed he wrote it up with?

yea, you know. talking about downscaling characters.

here's some tea that many of you need

not from me but something I read. and this ain't anti Gray, Gray's great, but pro Raijinshuu because if I see another person calling the Raijinshuu anything remotely to weak or even going as freaking disrespectful and ignorant as fodder, then I am going to BURST. seriously y'all.

But seriously, imagine how these four could possibly feel when coming back to their senses and learning what happened. They’re still regretting and making up for their horrible deeds back then and now this. I doubt the chapters are actually gonna bring some of this up but just imagine.

I’m both worried and I dare to be a little bit excited about the fights in the 100 year quest. Am I going to regret this spark of excitement? Maybe, probably.

Natsu vs. Gajeel and Erza vs. Jellal seem like a pretty legit fight to me but Lucy along with Loke&Virgo against Mirajane, Elfman and Lisanna and then Gray vs. the Raijinshuu???

Those seem a bit overconfident. I’m super afraid that the Raijinshuu are gonna get bullshitted on because they’re side characters and we know how they’ve been treated because of that.

They’re the most powerful trio of Fairy Tail, they’re top mages, their powers are incredible and Gray should have some big big struggles there. Heck, with Freed alone he should have a damn hard time, and then Evergreen and Bickslow plus their team work all up against him? Eh, that’s what has me worried. Especially because this somehow has to get a good ending somehow.

But the same goes for especially Mira and also her siblings of course.

Let’s see how they’re gonna solve it.

Mashima missed out on so many possibilities of different kinds (lots of Raijinshuu action missing for sure), for so many characters and situations

An amazing bond possibility:

Raijinshuu & Gajeel and Juvia bonding

Like, they both effed up with Fairy Tail. Considering that the Raijinshuu were even part of the guild already when they did all this horrible stuff to their own guild members is even worse than when Gajeel and Juvia were involved, so this little conversation snippet randomly came to my mind

Gajeel: You fucked up really bad, didn't ya?

Juvia, smiling: But Juvia and Gajeel forgive you. Juvia forgives you, too, Freed-san.

Gajeel: You fucked up even more than we did. Kinda makes ya almost likeable.

Juvia: Gajeel-kun!!!

Gajeel: 'cept that I still don't like ya bastards.

(Maybe not exactly like that but you catch my drift) Because we all know Gajeel likes nobody (besides Lily and Levy) cough - nah we actually know he's fond of the guild by now and just doesn't express it very well lmao.

No but jokes aside, a brotp between the Raijinshuu/any of the Raijinshuu and Gajeel and Juvia had/has so much potential.

Also they're all badass.

I honestly wouldn’t have something against a Battle of Fairy Tail 2.0 as long as it isn’t too easy for Team Natsu to tip the situation in their favor

as long as we get a taste/reminder of how wrecking the Raijinshuu’s powers be.

Remember when the three of them disabled/took out almost the entire guild by themselves? Yea. They’re top mages, they’ve been respected by their power by the guild and outside of the guild but ever since they became side characters/Mashima barely used them in any fights anymore they’ve just gotten brushed off and I still hate it.

Like, not even a mention along with the others? I get it they’re not as much main character as Gajeel or any of the mentioned ones, which is a definite factor as well, but really?

What about them.

If the Raijinshuu don’t get at least a few freaky proper scenes, I’ll be so so disappointed. They’re so strong, Freed’s definitely up there in the top tiers and Ever and Bicks have proven during the Battle of FT what they are capable of as well, and Touka could use them and their powers for so much havoc and evil, it could get so so so nasty.

I don’t know how much of the 100 Year Quest Mashima himself is writing or if he’s just doing the main storyboard but honestly...
