Yes I did trace this what of it. Its for fun I'm not making money off this or anything abdudbdj. And I didn't want to draw All That from scratch <3. The hair is mostly mine for cerys and entirely mine for marcia (I used some of @lesbianmarciaoverstrand's apprentice marcia art as refs <3)
I'm sure I've said this before but truly I think when marcia dies she's either going to be like 126 and dies in her sleep OR she dies at age 52 from like. Breaking a heel and falling down a flight of stairs or something. There's no in between she either dies young and dramatically or just somehow doesn't die for ages

Thank you!! I looked up her shoes when I went to do the drawing, and I found they'd also added stars to her cowboy boots version of her shoes lol. I actually really like the cowboy boots, they don't feel at all canon, but they're fun.
[Bonus fun fact: Angie says the artist took full liberty with the drawings, and while she likes the art a lot, Marcia looks the furthest from how she pictured her... so draw her however you'd like.]

UR TAGS YEAH. Without marcia, sarah would not have 2 of her children. And it IS without marcia specifically. Because if it had been anyone else who was eow during that time they might not have chosen the heaps for jenna. And they probably wouldn't have stopped to talk with the child soldier put there specifically to make them look stupid. Like it was not the ExtraOrdinary Wizard who saved her children it was Marcia Overstrand. Honestly I am constantly thinking abt marcia+sarah being friends bc it would be fun but ignoring that. Sarah WOULD be so mad abt it. And it would be so funny
Sarah is so funny to me; Silas doesn't get along with Marcia because they have an EOW Apprentice Rivalry and they must bicker about it or they'll die. Sarah, seemingly, just doesn't like Marcia because she is taking up Septimus' time (and Marcia is arguably as much as or more his mother than Sarah!) and she's jealous. I like to think that, ironically, the more positive influence Marcia has in her kids' life the more she can't stand her.
Sarah learns from Jenna years later that the reason Boy 412 (Septimus!) had come with them to Aunt Zelda's in the first place was because Marcia dug him out of the snow and saved his life and carried him all the way upstairs in her arms. Then she remembers that Marcia had also saved Jenna from the assassin, twice, and something wars inside of her between immense gratitude and so much annoyance that it was Marcia of all people and she just sits in silence for minutes while her face grows red.
Occasionally I want to try and make an au where marcia never came to the castle bc it sounds interesting but when u think abt it its like. Everyone dies. The end. Marcia is the single most important character to this series because without her everything just goes to hell immediately

im rereading septimus heap and i remembered your fanart… i actually love this series SO MUCH and ur like the only other person i know who’s read it AND MADE FANART so like. hi i guess. thanks!!!!! for the awesome fanart. ugh i love them so much
yeah sep heap is definitely one of those books from my childhood that are sort of permanently ingrained in my brain and im pretty sure had a lasting effect on how i approach fantasy. something something stories that center on family and friendship something nontraditional fantasy with folklore influences. somethin about the illustrations too i think. anyway here's a doodle for you.
