โI told you, someone made them disappear! I donโt have a clone army anymore. Besides, Iโm pretty sure the world can only handle so many of us. I think the other Chopper is doing a pretty good job with the ones he has, so Iโll go without.โ
โI did, butโฆ I didnโt handle them as well as the other Chopper did. Someone made mine disappear, but I am glad that theyโre doing so well with theirs!โ
characters that go through hell yet still believe in the goodness of humanity, still hope for the best despite everything, refuse to let darkness consume them because someone somewhere is always going to be good are literally my favourite, because they give me that little hope too
Oh, it appear she's found Chopper's secret stash of candy! But, do not fear! Friendship wins against any powerful sweet tooth and Annie has taken the pleasure of adding a few of her own sweets to the treasure!
Out of habit, the tightly sealed jar of candy was given a shake the second it was pulled from its hiding spot. The candy inside rattled about, but a new sound caught his earโ he had several hard candies he had been saving, but the ones bumping against the inside of the jar sounded bigger than the ones he had stashed away.
โHuh, I donโt remember putting these in here. Wonder where they came from.โ He didnโt assume that another member of the crew had done it, since he was confident in his ability to hide the jar ( despite it having been picked at and added to over the course of three years. )
Unwrapping the candies, Chopper tossed them into his mouth and began to ooze into a puddle of bliss on the sick bay bed.ย โSoooooooo good!โ
Chopper was in the middle of slurping in a heaping mouthful of sauce-covered noodles when his captainโs attention turned to him abruptly. Round eyes blinked and traveled from Luffyโs face to the dirty meatball, a snort escaping his little nose. Normally, being compared to food would have set off a defensive rant, but he couldnโt ignore that he sort of did look like a giant meatball whenever he puffed up.
โJusโ as long as you donโt try to eat me,โ he said around his food,ย โโcause then Iโll have to change forms and kick your butt.โ
๐พ โ they had landed finally โ she canโt remember the last time that they had seen land ( it was probably not too long ago but to her, anything felt like a long time. ) Small legs are happy to feel the ground again, and as much as she liked seeing the waves, her true heart belonged on land. Itโs a coincidence that she ends up following someone who she doesnโt really spend too much time around. Surely she knew everyone, but there were some that she favored over others. Usually, the child went where food was, but the amount of smells was overwhelming once she reached the reached the trees and foliage.ย
It takes her a little bit to speak up, getting distracted and almost lost here and there as they traveled to who knows where. Who knew what the other was looking for!ย
โ whatโฆ ย are looking for?ย โ she asks, her voice quiet, and sheโs not even sure if he heard her!
Chopper was equally as thrilled to see land, though probably not as thrilled as Tahma. In his eagerness to disembark, the small doctor hardly noticed that the girl was following behind him. He cared for her immensely despite her spending most of her time in the kitchen, but it was the job of the ship doctor to care for everyone aboard. Chopper certainly wanted to spend more time with her and get to know the child, but wasnโt something that could be forced.
So, when her voice sounded behind him, his ears gave a little twitch. Whirling around, hooves hooked in the straps of his bag, Chopper blinked at the curious girl.
โIโm looking for a certain herb! Iโm not sure if this island has it, but it never hurts to look. Uninhabited islands like this are usually full of rare plants because no oneโs ruined the ecosystem, so I like to look around. Even if I donโt find what Iโm looking for, Iโm sure Iโll find something useful.โ He paused and adjusted his bag.ย โDid... you want to help me look?โ
With clear skies and a refreshing ocean breeze, it wasnโt strange to find the crew enjoying the good weather for as long as they couldโ for it is known it might change in an instant into a raging force of nature. Annie was not part of those to miss the chance to spend the afternoon outdoors.ย
Sheโd taken a place to rest under the shade of one of the trees at the lawn-deck. With her back leaning against the trunk and her eyes closed, she just took it to listen to her surroundings and bask in the freshness of the air and the dim sunlight from above. The girl couldโve easily dozen off if she hadnโt felt the sudden weight of a warm and fluffy body on her.ย
Annie was more than used to huddle with the small reindeer; this sudden approach didnโt disturb her peacefulness. Breaking her off the drowsiness, she merely smiled and leaned over to see the kind of book heโd brought to read. Another medicine book, was it not?
She didnโt want to break Chopperโs focus with little talk, and thus she remained silence while he read in silence. An attempt was made on her side to follow up the difficult text and the unknown terms, but she was no doctor to understand it.ย Hypnotized by those printed symbols, she felt herself dozing off againโฆ ย However, before she could warn Chopper of her drowsiness, she discovered he too had succumbed to his own.ย
Of course she was not going to wake him up or ask him to move! And she wouldnโt move away from her spot either. The solution was simple: Gently as to not wake him up, her arms curled around his small frame and pulled him closer to her.ย Holding him like this was no problem, plus, he was so soft and warm!ย Just as the good weather, a chance to cuddle up with Chopper was not to be wasted.
Annie smiled and closed her eyes once again. It wasnโt much time after that she ( finally ) fell asleep as well. Napping with a friend with such nice weatherโฆ This had been a blessed afternoon.
โWe probably should locate your other friends as well.โ The young woman replied in a soft tone as she rustled Chopperโs head like a mother with a child before turning to give the swordsman a look that seemed more fit for a warrior than would seem evident at first glance.
โNow if you do not mind my asking, sir, but I will need your assistance for the time being. We will need to find the others and we are likely to face opposition along the way.โShe knew where everyone and everything was on this island andโฆ a group of the now rather maddened intruders was very likely to wander onto the path in the next while.
โAre you willing to lend me your skills with the sword?โNot lend as in allow her to take them, but stillโฆ she needed an extra pair of hands getting back to the camp without making unnecessary noise.
Once the fit of relieved tears subsided and his form shifted, Chopper was left with tiny sniffles and little strings of snot that were rubbed away on the swordsmanโs clothes when nuzzled into. The doctor was far too relieved to see his mossy friend to notice the disgusted look being given to him, though there was a hint of consolation in the manโs unscarred eye.
His only answer was a grunt, but Chopper didnโt seem to lose a speck of confidence in the man. Quick as he could, the reindeer clambered up Zoroโs muscular legs and back just to perch himself on his shoulders. He couldnโt carry both of them at the same time while in walking point, and it wasnโt as if they were in a rush; finding the others was just as important, but finding Zoro while he was lost always made Chopper frantic.
Even through his plush hat, he could feel the affectionate touch. Large eyes slide closed, breath coming in a gentle, swooping sigh. Nothing beat someone giving him a little attention.ย โIโm great! Thanks to you, I have all my friends back and weโre safe and sound. But what about you? Are you alright?โ
โLUFFYโโ!! Ne, Luffy? Did you find anything good? Sanji said you went to look for food!โ Tiny jumps kept him circling the rubber man, hooves grasping at the end of his clothes.ย โDid you find anything sweet?โ
ย ย ย ย ย ย ย Why do I feel like someone really scary is standing behind me?!
With a cold sweat clinging to his fur, Chopper slowly turned. He should have known by the shadow cast over him that the person was tall and broad, but actually seeing him there, looming, powerful, dangerous, scruffy.
โWโWhat? What do you wantโฆ?โ His efforts to remain calm are just as feeble as Usoppโs. ย
โEH?! Weโre playing tag? Awwh, man!โ He slumped in the boyโs hold for all of one second before he and his ears perked up.ย โWait, arenโt you supposed to run now that Iโm it?โ
โNโNami? Whatโs wrong, why are you crying?โ Struck with panic, the reindeer frantically obliged her.
Large, furry arms wrap tight around the navigator and lift her off her feet. He doesnโt squeeze too tight and hold her so loosely that heโll drop her, but lets her settle into his chest the same way she does whenever he needs a hug.ย โAre you sick? Did someone hurt you? Hey, come onโฆ Remember to breathe, okay?โ
Aya approached the reindeer doctor, a large book clutched in her arms. She bowed politely once she got close enough, feeling a little nervous. "I, um, hello. I, well, I heard you're one of Sanji's crewmates, and their doctor, so I wanted to bring you something from, um, from our library." The mermaid stood straight and offered him the book. It was a book, a journal really, on the latest medical procedures. [[THERE NOW THEY'VE MET]]
โAh! Wait, are you the woman Sanji helped? He wonโt shut up about you! I thought he was going to spend the rest of the night talking, but I guess heโ Uh.โ
Round eyes blinked, sparkling gaze trained on the book in her arms. Sweets were the doctorโs ultimate weakness, but books of nearly any kind were a close second. Medical books, of course, were his favorite; any text that could bring him closer to curing another person would quickly be snatched up, and the one she was handing him now was no exception.
โOh, wow! Really, this is for me? I donโt think Iโve read this one before!โ His cheeks became flushed with gratitude.ย โThanks! Iโm gonna start reading this right away!โ
