I cannot even BEGIN to express how much I love the choice to ditch the original draft of ‘cold and serious Marinette love interest’ and instead make Adrien unequivocally kind and sweet and goodhearted. I don’t know if it’s from years of growing up watching cartoons with mean or rude love interests (or just love interests that just don’t seem to like each other), but when I first started watching Miraculous, and even now, my heart is so full watching Adrien treat Marinette with the utmost care and genuine adoration and friendship.

YES. I love how warm and kind Adrien is, and not just to Marinette either - just overall. But of course, he especially gives heart eyes to his friend Marinette. Why wouldn’t he? He thinks she’s brilliant. It’s just so nice!

When I was doing a bit of live-blogging of Climatika, I really wanted to mention that the way Adrien sees Marinette and smiles and waves gave me such a good impression to start off with. The way that they both just LIKE each other as people even if they don’t really GET each other yet. While the ML love-square dynamic is pretty unique, I think the mutual affection in any form is what truly makes it work.

I probably would have watched ML if it had been like the PV, but I don’t think I would have loved it nearly as much.

I wanted to post this comic before the release of season 5 but I didn’t have the time.

I just wanted to imagine how Su-han would be if he became a nicer person with Ladybug and Chat noir after the strike back episode.

Fic authors deserve more credit.

Story time: I started a book about 23 hours ago and just finished it. Also in that time I slept for 10 hours, spent time with family, was at work, etc. Anyway, I enjoyed the book (Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda). But it felt like it flew by, so after I finished I looked up the word count because what are pages? Pages are meaningless. I only function in word counts anymore.

The estimate I found was 58,580. My immediate reaction was “oh, that’s why. That’s nothing!” But what a shitty response. Because no. That’s not nothing. That’s a whole. Damn. Book. An entire novel! And Fic authors regularly bust out 30k, 50k, 100k, 150k words. AND THEY DO IT FOR FREE. WHILE WORKING AND LIVING THEIR LIVES.

So anyway, thank your favorite fic author today because they deserve it. Because they’re amazing. They’re the MVPs.

This is awesome. With that said, huge appreciation also to fic writers who write shorter fics - 10k, 5k, 1k, 500 words. Because yeah, huge long fics get a lot of love, and a lot of labour goes into them, but the same is true for tiny fics as well. Not everyone is banging out huge great novels, but little ficlets are fantastic and still bring readers a ton of joy.

So if you’re feeling a bit downcast because you can’t write that 50 chapter epic or your latest WIP is “only” 2k and it still took you ages - that’s amazing. Seriously. Not everyone is naturally wordy or prolific. And you can say a ton with just a few hundred or thousand words.

Props to short fic creators - you guys are awesome.

We’re an international team of Miraculous Ladybug fans, who came together in a quest to offer faithful English subs for the French dub of the show. Adrien had always thought freedom could only exist in his time spent as Chat Noir, at least while under his father's thumb. But now he was unbound, freed as his father went to prison for his crimes against the city as Hawkmoth.

Granted it was most, unfortunate, that he be left on his own at 18, especially with his lack of basic life skills thanks to the controlled life thrust upon him by Gabriel Agreste. Adrien was not alone entirely however, Marinette was there to guide and help him when he needed it, and he wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

She had always been the one to think of the plans, it seemed only fitting that she was there by his side as they reveled in the new way of life. Now they didn't have to have the weight of the world on their shoulders at such a young age, they could be normal teenagers like they always wanted, and be together without worrying about their love bringing the end of the world.

It wasn't all no rules and no responsibility, it was about living a life they chose and that, that was what freedom was.
