this is conjecture but so is everything and i feel like it'll be confirmed by ttpd. in anti-hero, peace, the great war, the archer, afterglow etc etc, taylor paints herself as a burden to love and is so grateful that joe ever thought to love her. & i wonder if leaving joe did wonders for her self esteem. i think he made her feel like he was so kind to put up with her life. like yes, she was a burden, but he was a good enough person to deal with it. i think he expected gratitude. he wanted to be praised for loving her, because it was such a chore.
