i see posts here about how people are so mortified when they are acknowledged as being a regular customer somewhere that they never return. cowards. the employees at taco bell treat me like a celebrity. like royalty. i am their strange little pet customer who gets traded along as staff comes and goes. they know my car before i even speak in the drive-thru speaker. today i was 2 hours late and she ran over and squealed that she "thought i'd left them!" and that she "made my order with extra love!" and you what, she did

it's funny that this is getting notes again, because last night i went to the thai place in my neighborhood. it's run by a family and during covid times i ate there literally almost every day. later i cut back on eating out so much and hadn't been there in two years but last night we went and ate inside for the first time ever and the owner ran over to say hello and ask how i was, and repeated our old regular order. it was sweet. it's so easy to feel like you are an island, but stuff like this reminds you that you are part of a community.

"We were guided to a small clearing in the wood, where we found a Doman dressed in tatters, caked with mud and dried blood".

Based on the "Ever After" short story.

Why is it necessary that a piece of art "condemns" or "normalizes" something. Is it not enough for art to say "here are some fucked up people in some fucked up situations for your enjoyment"? The art doesn't have to judge them and neither do you. It's for your enjoyment.

"This art is Acceptable because it portrays the bad thing as BAD" "this art is Forbidden because it portrays the bad thing as GOOD" well fuckers I'm engaging with art that portrays the bad thing as A Spectacle. Come engage with me.

I blocked this person (obviously) but you know what? I wrote this post about a western video game. Almost all the tags people leave on this post are about western art. You're perfectly willing to accept fucked up art as long as it's in English, right? But you aren't willing to extend that courtesy to Japanese art, because... what? It's somehow grossly more misogynistic than western art? Because the Japanese are indefensibly sexist? Probably pedophiles, too, right? Ignore the fact that pornography exists in the west, ignore the fact that the western market for just-legal Teen Porn is fucking huge, ignore the fact that the western porn industry is rampant with abuse. It's the HENTAI SITUATIONS you have to watch out for. Because those drawings of girls are more misogynistic than live action western porn, somehow, because they're Japanese.

But yeah, you're right. We are NOT the same.

Vultures are holy creatures.

Tending the dead.

Bowing low.

Bared head.

Whispers to cold flesh,

“Your old name is not your king.

I rename you ‘Everything.’”

fun fact!

Vultures are also responsible for keeping diseases at bay.

Vulture stomach acid is so powerful that it can kill anthrax and many other deadly diseases.

So when they consume the carcass of a creature that has died of disease, they actually destroy the disease within it too!

So yes vultures are 100% holy creatures because they not only eat the dead, but protect the living from death.
