i’ve also noticed that a lot of the coverage is focusing super hard on the “it was twenty years ago! he’s had time to grow!” angle which is very manipulative because they are trying to infantilize him.

the reality is he was 30yrs old and already participating in politics / government. you can’t use the “it was so long ago” when you were still a grown adult who has every opportunity and resource to learn the most basic points of decency when it comes to racism.

and that’s being generous considering literally fucking everyone knows blackface is bad.
