Once my boyfriend told me: "You're not a burden. A burden is something you're forced to carry against your will. I freely choose to be a part of your life and that means you aren't a burden to me." I'm passing it on in case some of you need to be reminded of that.

society really lost the war when dressing nice / slutty = “gay” “metrosexual” “is he 💅🏻”. we had decades of men wearing crop tops and short shorts without blinking an eye and now it’s ye ole pilgrim standards and talk of scandal if they show their knees

they were FASHIONISTAS!!! and we SHAMED them!!!

the fact that men used to be able to dress like that and no one said a thing but chris pine stepped outside in this and there’s dozens of articles about him & his reaction to the criticism?

stand UP kings. bring back the thighs and the tummies!!!!!!

my parents have no issue with my art being explicit or sexual and are very supportive and this is great. the issue is they’re too supportive. my dad will whip out his phone and show neighbors we barely know paintings of naked trans men on their knees and be like ^_^ im so proud of my son!!!

once i told my mom that if she invited my 90 year old grandmother to my art show that she should warn her that theres sex in it. and she was like ‘your grandmother knows what sex is. she’ll be fine’

guys I had this realization the other day that Redwall works really well for reading aloud, and kinda half-remembered something about the author reading to kids? So I looked it up to see if I had made a connection.

And it turns out, yes, actually, because he read aloud to kids at a school for the blind. But all the books they gave him to read were depressing. So he wrote Redwall, a story about heroism and courage and making it through struggles, and filled it with so many sensory, visual details so he could give them something better and I just-- that's so wholesome-- help

i remember reading the Redwall books as a kid and noticing that they talk about food all the time. like, both that food and eating keep coming up in the dialogue, and also that characters have tons of feasts where every dish is described. at the time, i think i found it a little repetitive but now i realize he was probably lingering on those details because he knew sense of taste was something his audience could access and appreciate, and that is in fact very—well, sweet.

funniest thing about Atem saying that Yugi doesn't have any fashion sense isn't that he's backhanding Yugi tbh it's that he says it right after Anzu enthusiastically tells him how much she likes what he's wearing, thereby accidentally implying Anzu also has no taste, but directly to her face. Anzu was like "I love your accessories!" and the social cue whizzed so so far over and past his head that he deadass responded like "Oh these? I think they are tasteless and awful." no rizz on this man. none.
