  • Trump on Tuesday asked a prominent anti-vaxxer to lead a commission on vaccine safety.
  • Robert F. Kennedy Jr., son of Bobby Kennedy, said he agreed to lead the commission, which will seek to ensure there is “scientific integrity in the vaccine process for efficacy and safety effects,” Kennedy said.
  • Kennedy believes vaccines have led to a rise in autism, a claim that’s been debunked by doctors and scientists.

To everyone who is so concerned with people who suffer from Chronic Pain conditions getting addicted to pain killers, here’s a note from my perspective with polycystic ovaries and endometriosis.

I didn’t choose to be in this pain. I’ve had 2 laproscopies, been on 5 different birth control pills, had the implanon, the Depo Provera, the Mirena, and tried a variety of non prescribed period pain remedies including women’s probiotics, women’s multivitamins, “happy hormone” mixture, heat pads, hot water bottles, hot baths, taking an anti inflammatory when the pain kicks in, even gone off all the hormones together (and bled through everything for weeks).

I’m sorry that some mornings I can’t swallow my pride enough to fake my smile and pretend I’m okay without taking pain killers. I’m sorry I create a stigma around my family and friends by being 21 and having more prescriptions than my Grandma. I’m sorry some days I can’t walk properly and I need to sit down often from the horrific migraines, leg pains, pinpoint cramp sites, the never ending nausea and vomiting I cope with more often than not, and the overall bodily reactions to most foods.

I’m sorry you’re concerned with suspected addiction, but for me sometimes it’s the only thing that helps me sleep. Sometimes it’s the only thing that gives me a moment to not cry. I don’t always take them. I try my hardest to go weeks between. But I do not need anyone else judging me for needing some help in a battle that nobody else has seemingly been able to fix despite me trying multiple ways to manage the condition without painkillers.

If someone could tell me they could stop the flares from happening I would never touch another painkiller in my life.

I don’t care about the pills. I care about my quality of life.
