Did someone say Science???

So apparently all my older portal artwork has been booming on Deviantart, and lately I’ve been approached by older fans who recall my Portal days when first joining Tumblr.

All this nostalgia Portal put me back into the mood and did this little piece here. I was just messing with different types of brushes and this one really stuck with me.

Using a mouse, and a window default paint program.

There’s a short base music track looping during this chamber (Test Chamber 01) and when you press one of the 3 Aperture Science Switches for the first time, a new short track starts playing on top of that.

Unlike the most common types of dynamic/adaptive/interactive music, these secondary tracks are not synced to the base track, but to the press of the Aperture Science Switch. In other words, these are mixed by the player and are unique to each playthrough.

This music is titled Overgrowth on the soundtrack and can be found as sp_intro_02_lb1-1.wav, sp_intro_02_lx1-1.wav, sp_intro_02_lx2-1.wav and sp_intro_02_lx3-1 in the game files.
