Theory

Short theory! Riley is purple and Farkle is orange. Those colors are opposite eachother on the color wheel. They shouldn't work, just like a Minkus shouldn't work with a Matthews and their friendship should be platonic. But the colors are complimentary! They fit together! Riarkle compliments eachother. Okay I'm done 💛💜

Theory Time

Okay so GMW theory. Remember when the writers tweeted that if you have three friends, you’re lying? Okay now rewind to season 1. Riley played Juliet and Lucas was Romeo, then throughout season 1 they were basically the definition of a Disney princess movie, I mean Lucas even got her a white horse. So now fast forward to GM Upstate. Shawn says “do you know what it’s like to go to highschool with Romeo and Juliet” and Maya nods. Now this entire seen references Riley being “baby Corey” so who is Riley’s Topanga? Lucas. Plus the Riley and Lucas/ Romeo and Juliet parallel was already set up in season 1. Okay so now to the GM Ski Lodge P1 promo. In Riley’s romance movie her costuming is almost identical to her Juliet costume. So it has clearly been established that Riley and Lucas are Romeo and Juliet. Now this brings me to the writers tweet. If you have three friends, you are lying. The writers have already said this season is about Riley and Maya’s friendship so obviously that friendship isn’t fake, and Farkle has been so consistently there for Riley and so authentic in his will for Riley to be happy that I doubt it is him either. Which brings me to Lucas. Question: how does Romeo and Juliet end? Answer: They die. Now obviously the writers aren’t going to kill these characters (I hope). So what kind of death? It has been confirmed that Riley and Lucas end up together in Ski Lodge P2. So this is my theory, their relationship doesn’t work out. Maybe that is the only death, their relationship. But I think that they have focused so much on their relationship and not enough on their friendship that once the romance variable is removed that the friendship will crumble. Also GMW has yet to cover how to deal with the loss of a friend… I am not trying to start drama, just merely stating my opinion. I think that the friendship will crumble if at least not falter. Maybe the friendship doesn't permanently end. But if you think that they will break up and it all be sunshine and daisies you are shitting yourself because that's not even remotely how relationships work. Especially complex relationships like this.
