We all know how important representation is. I’m sure you’ve seen me post about this show before and know how much it means to me, but it’s more than that. It’s about showing girls, who are told over and over again how to act and how to be and what their limits are, that those rules don’t have to apply. It’s about making stories that matter and challenge the narratives that need to be challenged. Please sign this petition to try to get another network to pick up Pitch and to realize, as @mindykahling wrote, “the wasted potential of having a second season of the first female major league baseball player, breaking barriers, fighting sexism and racism for being a black woman playing a male dominated sport and bonding w her teammates”. Please help us keep her in the game.

#PickUpPitch Campaign

Pitches,

Yesterday we got disappointing news that Pitch has been canceled…on Fox. We let it rest for almost a day, but our family mourning period is OVER. It’s time to nut up. We are not ready to concede or admit defeat. If Ginny taught us anything it was to FIGHT. So let’s FIGHT.

What else ya got?

Therefore, we are going to be targeting 3 major platforms: Hulu, Netflix, and MLB Network asking them to #PickUpPitch. #PickUpPitch is the hashtag that was coined by the wonderful & brilliant @magicinhermadness and it quickly gained traction! We will be sending tweets, emails, and snail mail as soon as humanly possible.

Hulu

Netflix

 MLB Network

MLB Network

(TBH, we’re really only 100% sure about Hulu Craig & Netflix Ted’s email address, Andy’s is an educated guesses based on MLB format so please let us know if it bounces back)

When Fox canceled Pitch they insulted a lot of people. In effect they told us that all of the things that we loved and adored about the show didn’t matter. The diversity, the barrier-breaking, the way that mental health was carefully addressed, the importance of putting a WoC as the lead…none of that matters. And we should be angry about that. We should be LIVID that Fox thinks women breaking glass ceilings has no place to grow on their network. We should give them hell for it. We do this by helping Pitch succeed on a different platform. We poured our hearts out to them and our rally cry fell on deaf ears. This is when we need to show the world how important Pitch is and how wrong Fox was for not seeing that.

Join us in this new fight to get another network or platform to pick up Pitch. It is too important. We must make this right. For us, for the cast and crew and writers, and most importantly for every girl who will ever look at Ginny Baker and know she can do anything because she sees herself reflected

Let’s get to work. We ain’t done nothing yet
