Our fandom forbearers did NOT suffer through Anne Rice, strikethrough, and other bullshit for fucking ACOTAR and Harry Potter fans to fucking ruin it for all of us by selling fanfiction. I am not losing novel length yaoi epics because some of you don't know how to act in fannish spaces and yes I do blame the booktokification of fanfic but I also blame those of you that treat fandom like content to consume and not a community to engage with.

If Shinichi and Kaito ever find out they're related themselves, that would seriously be *amazing* for Conan >as a disguise<. Think about it: not only would this convince Ran (and other people) that
- The Kudo genetics just keep making the same guy over and over, meaning Conan looking exactly like Shin isn't out of the ordinary, and
- The Kudo family is just weirdly secretive about its history. It was always suspicious that Conan is a "relative" that Kudo never even mentioned nor his parents, but that also applies to Kaito- normalizing it and easing off the suspicion.

Another AO3 thing I’m curious about, how do yall decide if something is good enough to read? Usually I follow a rule of 1 kudos for every 10 hits. One because it’s easy math and two it’s yet to fail me. Thoughts? Do you just go for it and pray it’s good?
folks, don't do this one. do not look at kudos count. do not look at comment count. do not look at hits. you read the summary and see if it sounds like your cuppa. multi-chapter fics in particular suffer a lot from inflated hit counts because loyal fans will show up for every chapter, but only get one kudos apiece. literally just read the write-up and if it's bad, you'll know within a minute of clicking on it. give new works and chaptered works a shot
