Love Is Merely A Madness

@wereallmadhere517-blog

We stopped looking for monsters under the bed when we realized they were inside of us.

A while ago I heard a version of this story where Athena has pity on Medusa and turns her into the gorgon to protect her from all men. A gift instead of a punishment for uncle’s crimes.

It always stuck with me, so here’s a doodle.

My story started when Posedion stole me, ravished me, then threw me aside. I stood still, unwilling and gagged by the gods. Athena scoffed, scowled and cursed me. How dare she, the virtuous and wise, clouded by envy and petty jealously. I strode across the world with my head held high–snakes writhed upon my head, whispering tales of death and terror into my ears: (Kali Mata, dancing on slain corpses); (Persephone, ruling the Underworld with blood steeped fingers); (Nephthys, setting her enemies alight with each gasping breath) They are what you stand for (become them).  So I did. I became the unseen judger. Those who dared to mock me, those who raped, those who tortured, were cut down. My gaze cut through them, and stone they became; frozen forever in their states of sin. I sunk into the crumpled pages of history, remembered as the monster. But I was only a monster for the guilty.

the fall of azula is one of the best written story arcs in cartoon history and i will stand by this comment forever

you know another thing i really love about this scene? despite knowing their martial art and acrobatic prowess, azula still underestimated and looked down on mai and ty lee. the audience knows mai has the precision to cut and kill—and she was ready to do it. but ty lee chose to disarm and temporarily paralyze azula with the one tool she always has at her disposal (firebending) with two unsuspectingly swift hits. those skillsets are terrifying. people kept saying they (nonbenders) were mediocre compared to benders but atla made sure non-benders could be just as much of a threat as any bender.

Robin Hood didn’t steal from the rich, he stole from the government. He took tax money taken from peasants and gave it back to them. Stop using him to support socialism, he was stealing from Kings, not business men.
