Prompt: writing well-wished to one another f.t. Childe
Shoutout to: @chaoffee!!
Wood crackles in the background and a warm orange hue from the flames in the fireplace illuminates the room in a welcoming way. Outside, snow dances from the clouds down to the ground where they land in a sea of white. And while it had been lively in the living room only a few hours ago, everyone has gone to sleep and you’re alone with the letter in front of you.
Your boyfriend, Childe, was as complex as you expect him to be. A young harbinger with a soft spot for family and his lover. His personality had many layers, and so did his life. That much was evident, because while he was away in Inazuma—carrying out a mission in her Tsaritsa’s name, he still took the time to send you and his siblings heartfelt letters.
The corners of your lips curl up into an adoring smile at the thought of it. Even oceans away, his love for you and his family was like the irresistible pull of a tide. Nothing could ever stop him.
And now you sit in the empty living room of his childhood home, reading the words on the paper over and over again.
He writes about the things he has seen, promises to return with many gifts to make up for the lost time, and ends the letter with well wishes. The majority of it is a variation of ‘I miss you; I love you; you know that I love you, right?’ and you can only imagine how clingy he’d be when he returns (not that you mind. You miss his hugs after being separated from him for months).
You pick up your writing utensil and your own paper. While Snezhnaya remains unchanging, ever so white, and his family close as ever. You still write about the daily habits of it all. Never missing your own well-wishes at the end, and sending off the letter with a kiss.
