I love love love them so much. Your writing is incredible and Lourdes as a character is so fascinating and layers - but especially, the way you transport said character via your words and story weaving is simply fantastic.

I am so happy you decided to share this writing and their character with the world, and that I get to be a tiny part of it.

I really enjoyed every part of doing a little fanwork because it made me think about them and everything I love about them, and I am flattered to know you feel like I presented them well 💜

Can't wait to see their path unfold and am looking forward to all of this!!

Lourdes is @wildfaewhump s character, used with their permission. I consider it canon that after Angel starts her own life, they are house mates.

This is set right after Angel meets Tyler again in this piece.

Content / warning: BBU recovery (setting only implied), aftermath of nightmare / unwanted sexual dream, recovery things, abuse survivors comforting each other. This is comf and friendship.

Her treacherous desire had gone; but the sickness, settled deep in Angel's stomach, had remained. And so she had stayed, too, long after she'd turned the water off, sitting on the tiled floor of their big shower - light pink tiles, pink, not white, the first thing she'd changed when she'd renovated the house.

Pink tiles, not white ones. Not as they'd been in her dream. Pink tiles, not the slightest pressure on her throat, the inside of her wrist soft and spotless except for the remains of the small circular burn scar.

"Fuck you, Handler Parker," she'd said to him, yesterday in the real world - and then again, in her dream. "Of course," he'd replied in her dream, "that's what you're for," and she'd been unable to remember, if she'd said "fuck me," instead, and when she'd tried to correct herself, her voice had been gone, her mouth moving without sound, and her body moving against her will, just as he'd taught her, just as she was made for, and he'd kissed her, and she'd kissed back, and when she finally woke up alone, her bed had been a sticky mess and her body had throbbed with helpless, disgusted need.

Fuck. Fuck you, Handler Parker. She buried her face in her hands, still feeling the need to hide her sobs, needing to be pliant and quiet and elegant. Fuck you, she thought again, Fuck -

"Angel?", a soft voice asked.

You know what? I don't give enough credit to comforting actions paired with violent ones. I'm not talking about after either, I mean soft touches while hurting whumpee

A knife in one hand and the other stroking whumpee's back
tying whumpee in an uncomfortable position and petting their hair
injecting a sedative/poison and singing a lullaby
putting a blade through whumpee while hugging them <3
a hand on their cheek and the other around their throat

Reminded of how much I love the dark display of trust when whumper gives whumpee a weapon. Either because whumper is confident whumpee is too scared of the consequences to turn the weapon on them, or better yet, is coming around to their side.

Her memory! Mostly the memory of her mother, but her memory in general.

See, the reason WRU took her as a pet was because she got Tom out of there when he tried to escape and made it to her office instead, and this was before his memory was fully wiped (yeah... the handlers on duty with him utterly failed there). And they can't have her out there knowing kids are made into pets. But this means Aaliyah knows it's possible to escape before losing her memory. So she fights for as long as possible. And when it becomes clear she can't get the drip out, she hangs onto her memory for as long as possible.

Also, she made her mother a promise that she wouldn't be taken as a pet.

You already know how well that went (hint: not well at all) (she doesn't really remember anything).
