"Not beating the ___ allegations" is such a 'now' turn of phrase, implying as it does a world where everyone's behavior is always on literal trial by a guilt-presuming judge and jury that consists of anyone who happens to be paying attention.

if u saw two people wearing bright, flashy, ridiculous looking clothes and u were told one of them just came out of the Clown Depot and the other came out of a modern hypebeast clothing store you wouldnt be able to tell which was which

gonna start a new Premium Clothing Brand called Clown Depot

submit some original modern clothing designs to me if you want in on the action

and by that i mean im not actually going to start a clothing brand but i’ll try to come up with a logo and designs and we can have some fun pretending i did

REBLOG FOR DEMONSTRATION PURPOSES ONLY, NO SUBMISSIONS ARE REQUESTED AT THIS TIME

oh, no definitely not. i already made the brand years ago, that was my whole streaming career.

the store is still up. it’s not as radically clownish as i’d first envisioned, but thats largely based on how fuckin expensive clothing of any noteworthy quality is to manufacture. so instead i made a middling quality printed-to-order graphic t-shirt store, like every other degenerate online.

telling a joke on tumblr is fun but watch out! if it gets over 1000 notes your joke is automatically exposed to people who have never once heard a joke in their life.

"why would you say that" because it was funny. "but that isn't true" it's the funniest way to express that sentiment. "why would you do that" because it's a joke.

I will never understand why people endlessly attack trans people (mostly trans women/girls) for being "stereotypical" when cis people have been stereotyping themselves since the beginning of time.

really amazing joke about how we should make fun of all the gals who like anime and reddit and blahaj. anyway, why did I find this on your mom's bookshelf

I know someone who calls herself a feminist, puts her pronouns in her work email signature, donates money to women’s empowerment funds, and thinks we should deport more refugees. I also know someone who calls people ‘pussies’ when he plays video games, who doesn’t know what a pronoun is, and, for his defence of low-wage women workers in a highly-exploited industry, is a better, more strident defender of the rights of working-class women than almost anyone else I know. Of these two people, I know who is on my team, and who I want on my team, yet the standard liberal feminist calculation would have me chose the woman who loves a little deportation over the man who is occasionally uncouth, solely because the woman knows to keep her language civil, and the man doesn’t. Liberal feminists get incredibly caught up in the politics of language, because language is all they have. They don’t have a revolutionary programme for overthrowing patriarchy, so they’re forced to tinker around the edges of it, quibbling over word choice and jargon instead of building the coalitions necessary for destroying patriarchy.

yea.

Thinking about the two (male) coworkers I had a few farm jobs ago, one of whom was a very well spoken and politically knowledgeable self reported socialist who was nevertheless urging me to stay silent about the lower wages I was receiving so I didn't compromise his job. The OTHER one was a foulmouthed nineteen year old who didn't know what trans meant (but listened VERY well when I talked about it) and was absolutely up in arms about the wage inequality, and honestly any injustice in front of him. I'll let you guess which if them I'm still in touch with

in hindsight, it makes a lot of sense that macklemore would happily release a free palestine song that is AS balls-out anticapitalist and antiimperialist as it is, considering in 2011 he won a grammy with a song all about being poor and spending your money wisely while still being cool and looking fresh, bemoaning blind consumption.

it was a small domino to start with, sure, but the trail is there.
