Can I ask hcs sharing umbrella with the brothers? I don't know why but esp Mammon it'd be chaos, like, instead of using umbrella we would run with him under the rain while screaming sksksk

Avatar

Uhm ??? Hell yeah??? Let’s go!

Lucifer >>

  • As it began to rain, he’s the one who pulls out an umbrella.
  • Sharing an umbrella with him is pretty standard. He makes sure you’re staying dryer than he is. If he feels you’re still getting wet (Read: Height Difference™️), then he’ll put his coat around you… while he’s still wearing it. He’s going to pull you close to his side to keep you dry.
  • He’d rather keep you dry than stay dry himself, though he’d prefer to also stay dry if possible.

Mammon >>

  • Him? Remember to bring an umbrella when the forecast clearly called for rain? Not a chance!
  • He’ll notice right away when it starts raining, and fruitlessly pat his bag or pockets, already knowing he has no umbrella. It gets worse when it starts raining harder.
  • And now you’re both running, probably screaming, for the nearest awning or building.

Leviathan >>

  • No need to worry! He’s got the stylized umbrella he bought off Akuzon a few weeks before! It’s an exclusive TSL print umbrella that was only being sold in limited quantities.
  • As soon as it starts raining enough to pull out the umbrella, because he waits as long as he can to actually pull it out, he slowly pulls out the umbrella dramatically. Even more dramatically, he opens it and holds it over both of you.
  • It’s only big enough for one of you, but he tries anyway.

Satan >>

  • Satan has a tendency to always come prepared. He saw the forecast called for spot showers, so he brought a large umbrella with him for both of you.
  • When it does start raining, he immediately has it open to make sure you both stay dry. No likes walking around in wet clothes, after all.
  • Even if you were to offer to hold the umbrella, he’d insist on holding onto it because it makes him feel like he’s doing something for you.

Asmodeus >>

  • Hope you brought the umbrella because he brought one of those little dome shaped umbrellas because it was cuter than the big one one of his brothers tried to insist he take.
  • Assuming that’s what you ended up with, and it started raining, he’d be taking up a majority of the space under the umbrella. He spent all morning getting his hair just right for your guys’ outing, he can’t let the rain ruin it!
  • Of course, he’d be trying to make sure you’re not getting all wet either. He’s sure you spent a good time getting ready for him, too! It’d be awful if your perfection got ruined by all this rain, too!

Beelzebub >>

  • He… didn’t bring an umbrella. But he’ll offer you his jacket if you’re insistent on not getting wet and you don’t have your own umbrella.
  • However, if you did bring an umbrella, Beel would be the one insisting on holding it because, chances are, he’s taller than you. He’d rather be able to hold it above his head.
  • He will pull you close to him under the umbrella. Sharing warmth, right?

Belphegor >>

  • When the weather calls for rain, he only brought the small umbrella. He expected to be able to just go inside somewhere when it actually started raining.
  • For the most part, he was right. But it hadn’t occurred to him that you’d both be a good distance away from any shelter in pouring rain. And now you’re both sharing an umbrella much too small for you both.
  • You’re both huddled close as you shuffle towards the nearest shelter, just at least trying to keep your heads dry.

My askbox is always open for more HC requests! I know I’ve gotten to posting a lot less lately, but unfortunately the stress of school, work, and all this COVID19 bs has been getting to me. I’m doing what I can to get through the requests in my inbox! :)

Are you aware of Greek and Roman mythologies? If so then can u make an angst of mc being turned into stone by a Medusa after the exchange program... In front of the brothers? One of them is her lover so what would they react?

sure!! sorry it’s not very angsty:(( also, we chose three brothers only since no one was specified uwu sorry for the long wait!

Around the middle of the year, Diavolo announced that there will be two new exchange students from Olympus: Dionysus and Medusa. Dionysus, being the God of drinking and parties, quickly made friends with Asmodeus while Medusa stuck with Simeon quite a lot.

Overall the pair seemed pretty normal, or at least what normal is in Devildom, but for some reason, Medusa always wore sunglasses indoors. One day, you and the seven brothers were walking down the hall and your eyes landed on a pair of sunglasses on the floor. You picked it up and examined it, then looked around the area to find the person who owned it. After a few moments, you spotted Medusa frantically pacing back and forth.

Assuming she was looking for her sunglasses, you approached her and tapped her shoulder, causing her to freeze. “Is this yours?” you asked. With her back facing you, she replied, “Are they sunglasses? If yes, then they are mine.” You, being the curious meddler you always were, were curious about why she always wore sunglasses. Indoors. Maybe her eyes were so beautiful that the Avatar of Lust would be jealous.

You gently grabbed her shoulder and forced her to face you. “Can I see your-“ Before you could even finish your sentence, your eyes met with her golden orbs. You were so mesmerized by them that you were frozen still and couldn’t move an inch. No, you were turned to stone.

Lucifer:

Lucifer wasn't one for fits of rage. After all, he believed was far more superior than Satan and would never stoop down to his level, but this time he just might. Nope, you cannot kill an exchange student. The exchange student didn't mean to do it; It would be irrational to harm her. Lord Diavolo will be unhappy with you if you kill the exchange student.

Lucifer sighed and forced his brothers into their classrooms while taking particularly long with Mammon because he wouldn't stop crying. He calmed himself and simply told Medusa to return to her classroom while he would handle this. He very carefully and quite easily picked you up in his arms and carried you up to Lord Diavolo’s office.

Now away from the prying eyes of students, he can break his calm facade and show his true emotions: Lucifer began to have a full-blown mental breakdown. Lord Diavolo laughed as he has never seen Lucifer this disheveled and simply told Lucifer to calm down. ”CALM DOWN? CALM DOWN?!?” Lucifer practically shouted at Diavolo before almost immediately apologizing for disrespecting him.

Lord Diavolo put his hand on Lucifer’s shoulder and explained that for centuries, a lot of humans would often sell their souls to demons because their loved one had been turned into stone, and they want them to be turned back. This being a lucrative business opportunity, Lord Diavolo and several other demons have created several methods of turning a human that has been turned to stone back to normal. Lord Diavolo then calls Barbatos on his DDD to come to his office. Barbatos enters and looks at you knowingly. He takes a look at Lucifer and uses all his willpower to stop himself from bursting into laughter as Lucifer looked like he aged a thousand years from the sheer stress of you being turned into stone. Barbatos quickly brought you out of the room as if this wasn't the first time he's done this while Lucifer could only watch you be carried out the door.

A couple of hours have passed since you've been taken away and Lucifer has been pacing back and forth this whole time. Around hour three, Lord Diavolo had to attend to business in the palace and so had to leave Lucifer alone with his thoughts. What if she isn't okay? What if she stays like that forever? Fuck, do I even know how to function without her? His thoughts were interrupted by the opening of the door, which was opened by no other person than you.

He quickly stood up and walked towards you as if to hug you but just said: “Oh, you're back, are you alright?” You poked his arm teasingly and said, “Yes, were you worried about me or something?” He quickly responded that he was confident in Lord Diavolo's abilities and so he didn't worry at all. He couldn't admit that he, the Avatar of Pride, who is second in command of the whole Devildom that is feared by all, was so scared of losing you. You looked down and smiled because you knew he was lying. ”Your hair is messy,” you said with a rather smug look on your face. He blushed and looked away, straightening his tie while muttering something about not having enough time to get ready this morning.

Mammon:

“M-M-M-MC!” Mammon was the first one to react. Well, violently react. As soon as he saw the shocked expression plastered on your face with your whole body turned to stone, he screamed so loud that God probably heard him all the way from heaven.

He immediately rushed to your lifeless form and aggressively grabbed your stiff shoulders. He glared at Medusa for a split second before she darted off to someplace else as soon as she caught Mammon’s sharp glare on her. He then returned his attention to your figure, his look softening to that of a needy puppy’s. He cupped your face in his quivering hands and gazed at it, that frozen look on your face leaving a scar on his mind forever. Lucifer approached Mammon and told him to step away from you so that he can bring you to Diavolo, who will return you back to normal.

However, Mammon just furrows his brows at Lucifer and completely envelopes you in a tight embrace. “NO! MC stays with me! AND I WILL KILL THAT SNAKE-HAIRED BITC-“ He declared, but was cut off by Beelzebub forcefully grabbing him by the back of the collar and dragging him back up to his room. Beelzebub sets him down on the floor. Mammon, with his legs sprawled on the floor, crossed his arms and started sulking. Beel hummed in pity. “Don’t worry. Diavolo’s gonna bring her back, you know.” But, he received no response from his older brother.

He was silent—completely silent, which was an extremely unusual situation. The only thing on Mammon’s mind was you, who could end up staying dead, or returning, but who knows what could possibly happen? Right now, all he wanted to do was to reunite with you, feeling the warmth all over your body and hearing your sweet little insults that, secretly, brought music to his ears. He hugged his knees and buried his crying face in them.

Hours of endless sulking have passed, and Mammon finally decided to speak up. “Beel, what if she doesn’t return?” He questioned in a muffled, almost inaudible voice. Beel sighed in relief, knowing that Mammon will not stay dead silent forever. “I know she’ll come back, I feel it.” This response caused Mammon to relax his tense body a bit.

Suddenly, the door swung open, causing Mammon to perk up. He shoots up and hurriedly dashes towards you. He furrowed his brows and bent forward to meet you eye-level. You pushed the middle of his brows back up. “Don’t do that, you’ll get wrinkles.” He blushes and stands straight, placing his hands on his hips. “W-Well, I- Um- You’re back, I guess,” he muttered, trying to seem like he doesn’t care, but you were still able to hear the obvious relief in his tone. You giggled. “You know, even while I was frozen stiff, I was still able to see everything that happened around me-“ you started, gently grabbing his collar and bringing his face closer to yours until your noses were already touching. “-including everything you did and said that openly expressed concern for me.” Mammon widened his eyes, his bottom lip quivered a bit. He grabs your waist and pulls your body close to him, placing his head on top of yours to prevent you from seeing the tears that started rolling down his cheeks. “I…I thought I’d lose you for real… S-Stupid…”

Satan:

”WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST DO-” When Satan saw your motionless form, he stayed true to the fact that he was the Avatar of Wrath and tried to kill Medusa. In fact, it took literally all six of his brothers in their full-demon forms to pin him down, which was rather shocking, as he was only the fourth most powerful.

Simeon came over due to the huge commotion and quickly escorted Medusa away from the blast zone of Satan’s rage. While Satan was trying to free himself and swearing that he will torture and end Medusa, Lucifer took out his DDD and called Diavolo. With Lucifer distracted, Satan was able to release himself from their grasp and got up. "WHERE THE FUCK DID SHE GO? I AM GOING TO-" Satan was quickly restrained again by Lucifer who told Satan to calm himself and that MC will be alright. DID YOU JUST ASK ME, THE GODDAMN AVATAR OF WRATH, TO CALM DOWN?

Although Lucifer's words were meant to relax Satan, it only made him far more infuriated. Every sense of logic, rationale, and intelligence that Satan is known to possess just flew out the window. Barbatos arrived at the scene and hauled you away to an unknown location while Satan could only stare. Lucifer and Beelzebub dragged Satan to his room and locked him in while saying that Lord Diavolo will return MC to normal and that Satan will stay here until he calms down. Lucifer put a spell on the door quite similar to the one he used on Belphie's door. Satan used all of his strength to try to get out but couldn't, which of course, only made him angrier. He punched a hole through the wall.

It's been five hours since you've been carried away by Barbatos and Satan is still as mad as he was earlier, or perhaps even more so. There are now approximately 31 holes in Satan's wall, 4 ripped pillows and one destroyed book (which was an accident because he would never hurt a book intentionally). Satan was lying on his bed, still seething, staring up at his ceiling.

Scaphism? No. Electric Chair? Nope. Crucifixion? No. Brazen Bull? Perhaps. Medusa will be made into an example that if anyone dares hurt MC, consequences will not be lenient and- Satan's thoughts were cut off by three knocks on his door. Satan got up and walked towards the door, irritated that he had to leave his thoughts on how he should torture Medusa. At the door, his thoughts were racing on who could it be. I swear if that is fucking Lucifer coming in to give me a lecture on making a scene, I am going to- the door opened and it was you.

You are holding a tray of tea-his favorite blend of black tea- because, on your way up to his room, you heard the breaking of plaster walls, so you decided to take a detour and make him some tea. When Satan saw you, he immediately calmed down and smiled at you. You entered his room and immediately saw the destruction and chuckled a little. You looked at him who is now as red as a beet. "Okay, so I may have uhm, gotten a little angry," he says embarrassed and not looking into your eyes. You give him a peck on the cheek and pour him a cup of tea.

“What do they want?” Aki asked, a moment earlier she had her mind and heart in a complete disarray. But after hearing Inuchiyo’s visit in Yonezawa a few days from now, she had her undivided attention to her brother. She had a feeling that her childhood friend’s visit has something to do with her.

“We were discussing the alliance with Oda for quite some time now, I think this is about their decision.” Kojuro answered, “They also wishes to discuss something formal with you, Milord.”

“Something formal… It could be aside from the terms we had set.” Masamune said, his fingers rested thoughtfully in his chin. Aki had a bad feeling about this.

“I am afraid it is, Milord.” Kojuro answered, still with a troubled look on his face, “They may ask for something more.” He added.

“I have a bad feeling about this, hah.” She sighed, crossing her arms. “But what would you have us do, Masamune-chan?”

Aki, what did I say about honorifics?” Kojuro scolded her, she responded to him with a laugh,

“This is why I totally do not agree with the summary of my background as as ‘noble lady’ that you said earlier. Do I even belong there? Should I even be there? Do I even deserve the honor of being a candidate for becoming the next Lady Date? Do I even have the right to become Masamune’s wife when I lack the qualities needed? I do not even know.” Aki said, mirth in her eyes.

“Of course you do.” Masamune answered her, a look of fondness in his eyes and a faint blush in his cheeks. She found herself drawn to his gaze that she did not notice that she was blushing herself.

“Ehem, Soooo… going back, what would you have us do, Lord Masamune?” She cleared her throat, trying to change the subject she asked him again.

“I would just ask of you to work at your hardest,” Masamune answered with a faint smile.

“I, Aki Katakura will do my best for this clan and for you, Milords!” She winked at the both of them, the stress and tension from the air now disappeared.

“I do not even know how what to do with you,” Kojuro gave her smile while Masamune lightly chuckled, drinking the tea.

“Ahahaha, fine fine. I’m going to take my leave. Have a pleasant night, you two.” She stood up, excusing herself. She bid good night to the both of them before going to her chambers. It is time, she thought to herself.

Aki had a lot things in her hands, now she has to act as a page to both Masamune and Kojuro. She had expected the piles of papers in her room at Yonezawa Castle. Once she slid the door open, she can only sigh  at the familiar sights of paper, inks and lamp on her table. The bedding was already laid out too, which was probably the doing of her brother. After changing into her sleeping robes, she took a seat before repeatedly studying the papers for approval. She has to keep her mind busy, hoping not to think about Shigezane. She turned him down, finally. But with the promise of giving him the love he deserved in the next life.

It was a risky promise, she knew. But that is the only way she can think of. She was not a fan of reincarnation, neither does Shigezane. But somehow that little promise they made to each other was full of passion, hope and love for each other. She can only chuckle at her foolishness.

Thinking of nothing but now but all the paper works she had been reading, Aki did not notice that time went by so quickly that it was late at night. The chattering of the retainers and soldiers in the corridors of the castle now gone. All that she can hear was the sound of the crickets and shuffling of her sleeping robes as she changed positions while reading, “Ah… I am almost done.” She said to herself, stacking the finished papers to the other side of the table. Aki noticed that the room next to hers was already lit. Kojuro was probably in his chambers too, she thought. She stretched her arms and slapped both sides of her face, trying to wake her self up before reading the last few of the papers.

After finishing re-reading and taking notes of the papers, exhaustion of both her body and mind had finally started to take over her. She went to Kojuro’s chambers to sleep, taking her beddings with her. She could not sleep without any lights on and she knew Kojuro was going to sleep later than she does. So she gave him the job of putting out the lights, but only if she was fast asleep. She bid him good night and reminded him not to stay out late for too long. The moment she closed her eyes, sleep had finally visited her.

Kojuro had put out the lights a moment later after Aki had fallen asleep. He chuckled at how childish yet mature his sister was. She may not be from a samurai family, but they knew that she will prove herself to be worthy of becoming a Katakura, and she did. Kojuro was proud of her, though she was a playful woman.

He can hear her gentle snores, he took the ribbon that was in her hair. It was the one that Shigezane gave her. Kojuro knew how hard it is for Aki to just let Shigezane go. He had been with her ever since she had blossoming feelings for him. He saw cry and get drunk over him, her hardships every time Shigezane falls for another woman and not to her. To be honest, for him, Masamune deserved his sister more than Shigezane. Masamune saw her worth and loved her all the same. But Kojuro cannot intervene, he has no right to. He slipped to his own bedding, the exhaustion also making him fall into a deep sleep.

…………..

“Ack… haaah… haaah.”

It was in the middle of the night when he woke up to the sound of someone having a serious case of coughing fits. He rubbed his eyes groggily to clear his vision. Only the moonlight outside his chambers is his only light. He saw Aki in the corner of the room, pale faced as she continued to cough. Cloth close to her mouth while her other hand on her chest.

“Aki!” He rose to his feet. His collected demeanor fading away as he saw his sister in pain.

“Kojuro… Ack…! Haah haah… Mmn!” Her coughing fits was getting worse each passing second. Kojuro rushed to her side, she tried to push him away weakly. But Kojuro held her close to his chest. There is no way she can support herself. Aki’s body was burning through her sleeping robes, she was deathly pale. the moment she took off the cloth from her mouth made him shiver in fear for her.

There was blood. On her clothes, on her cheeks, on her mouth.

“Ani… Aniue… my medicine is… haah…” She tried to speak even with her ragged breathing. “My hakama…” Kojuro gently let her down on her bedding, his mind was in chaos. The only thing he knew clearly is that he needs to get her medicine. His footsteps were heavy as he ran as quickly as he can. He found her medicine, in three little jars. He wasted not a minute to get some water for his sister.

Once he came back, he immediately made her drink her medicines. Which relieved her after a few more coughing fits. Kojuro was shocked by the whole situation. She tried to call his name, but he just asked her to sleep. He changed Aki’s sleeping robes that had droplets of blood and drenched with sweat, into his clean change of kimono. Her body was still burning, her chest was rising and falling in an unusual pace. She still has difficulty breathing but not as worse as earlier. Kojuro kept on observing her, worry visible in his features, he would not be able to sleep a wink with Aki’s state. The first thing he is going to do when the morning comes is to go to the castle doctor to check on her.

“Is this what you meant, Aki?” he whispered to himself.

“Her illness is somehow similar to consumption, however in her case, the cough is not contagious to others around her.” The castle doctor said after checking up on still sleeping Aki. Unlike last night, Kojuro tried his best to be calm after having the doctor check up on his sister. “Consumption alone can kill the person affected. It seemed that she kept it hidden from you, considering how you did not know anything about her illness. Lord Katakura, I am going to be honest with you, would that be alright?” The doctor asked him. Kojuro closed his eyes for a moment before looking at his sister again, answering the doctor with a nod.

“Lady Aki will only last until, probably the next fall if her body can still take it,” the doctor said, “It had taken a large toll on her body, she had taken her medicine but her illness is still something we can’t cure. Her medications only relieves her of the coughs and the fever for a period of time but not the illness itself.” the doctor added. Kojuro can only look at his sister wide eyed, his mind completely blank from what the doctor had said.

I don’t have much time left, He suddenly remembered the words she’s always telling them. She knew that she is dying, and yet she still kept that smile on her face and her jovial personality around them. He should have noticed sooner, her thinning figure and the unusual pale skin. Kojuro should have kept on asking her.

No one can make the Dragon’s Claws cry. But right now, Kojuro had to fought back the tears that were threatening to fall from his eyes. Aki is a strong woman. He trusts her more like he trusts Masamune, and she will not succumb to her illness. He believes she can survive, and they will be there every step for her.

“Is there anything we can do for our Aki?” Kojuro asked, he would do anything to save their little sister, he stroked her forehead, feeling the now mild fever she has. The doctor smiled lightly, “We will do anything we can to help Lady Aki. But I want to tell you, Lord Katakura should prepare yourselves for the worst. If you’ll excuse me, just call me whenever you need me.” The doctor bid his farewell. Leaving Kojuro and Aki all alone in the room.

He looked at his sister, praying for her wellness. He never had thought that she will hide something like this from them. Judging from the medicines she took and what the doctor had said, her condition was that bad. For her to last only until fall. Kojuro decided to write a letter to Kita, asking her to come to Yonezawa.

Aki woke up with the sunlight in her face, she can guess that it is almost late in the morning. She sat up, the kimono she’s wearing fell off her shoulders. She looked closely to her state,

“This is Kojuro’s kimono… why am I… AHHH?!” She screamed, pulling the kimono closer to hide herself. She heard footsteps rushing close to their chambers. The door was slid open hastily, revealing Kojuro

“Aki did something happen to you–WHA!” She threw his balled haori to his face, rage in her eyes

“WHY AM I WEARING YOUR KIMONO, YOU PERVERT GEEZER?!” she said, pulling the blankets closer to her. Kojuro walked slowly to her, a troubled smile in his face. “I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MARRY ANYMORE ANIUE!” she covered her face with both her hands.

“Loud as ever, Aki.” He flicked her forehead. “How am I supposed to let you sleep last night when your sleeping robes had droplets of blood and drenched with sweat? Do not worry, I looked away while changing your clothes.” Kojuro answered her gently. It dawned to her what happened last night, she woke up with a coughing fit. It was one of her worse ones, she can’t stand up and get her medicine from her chambers so she just sat in the corner of the room where she fell asleep. She remembered Kojuro tending to her and getting her medicine. The blood stained cloth and her sleeping robe was still folded neatly on the other side of the room, along with her jars of medicine.

Aki thought she can still hide it from him, she was planning to tell him of course, but after the matters in the castle had been settled. This is the reason why she can’t stay with Shigezane, she’s dying. Aki took her medicines more than she eats, so that she can make them believe that she was alright, that nothing is wrong with her. That she will carry out her duties to the Date and Katakura until death claims her. Tears were stinging her eyes, she gnawed on her lower lip.

“How long have you been hiding this from me…?” Kojuro asked her, as gentle as he can. She can hear the worry and the pain in his voice. She can’t stand it, seeing the people she loved hurt because of her.

“I just found out recently… I was planning to tell you and Lord Masamune soon but… I can’t find the courage in doing so.” She answered him honestly, “I’m sorry, Kojuro-aniue.” She tried to smile despite the tears continuously streaming down her face. Kojuro scooted closer to her, embracing her in a gentle manner that he always does whenever she’s crying.

“It’s alright, Aki. We will figure everything out.” He reassured her. She cried in his arms, like she always did. She wiped her tears while Kojuro tousled her hair.

“Aniue, I am fine now. I can still work.” She said, smiling faintly at him.

“You can’t, You need to rest.” he answered quickly.

“Please…? You need more help at this time.” She persuaded him, Kojuro sighed.

“Aki, you need to eat up. I brought you a fresh change of your Kimono and some porridge. It was from Lord Masamune.” Kojuro said, “I am not allowing you to work today, we can ask Shigezane to–”

“But he is busy with his wedding.”

“No Aki. You’re going to rest. Can you change to your kimono?” Kojuro’s words were firm, well she guessed she’ll just barge in later. She nodded before she took the clothing from his hands, she hid behind the screen as she took off Kojuro’s easily, it still smelled faintly of him. She tried the kimono that Masamune had given her. From the feel of the fabric she knew that it was expensive, it felt the same as Ayame’s kimonos. She had trouble tying it to a perfect fit.

“Aniue, can you fix my obi for me?”

Shigezane and Masamune was walking side by side to go to Kojuro’s chambers to talk about the plans for the day. It was going to be busy for them. With a lot of preparations for the wedding to the visit of the Oda Clan in the next few days. Shigezane was in high spirits when he found out that his cousin, Masamune was already choosing for his bride. Masamune, who was clearly embarrassed about the whole thing was about to slid the door open but stopped once they heard what was going inside Kojuro’s room

“It’s tight, isn’t it?” Shigezane heard Kojuro groan. He clasped a hand over his mouth while masamune looked down to his feet.

“Ah, it is tight. Can you put in– ahh, that’s perfect.” then they heard a woman’s voice, that sounded like… she was relieved.

“Was that Aki?!” Shigezane whispered, Masamune wasted not a minute to slid the door open slightly. Revealing Aki and Kojuro. She has her hands adjusting the obi, a look of relief in her face.

“Thanks for adjusting the obi for me, Aniue!” She exclaimed, they are clearly unaware of the two Date Lord’s presence on the door. ”Man was that tight,” she said once more, while smoothing out her hair. Masamune completely slid the door open while Shigezane was still shocked, he knows that his cousin has some indecent thoughts in his head that he cannot even believe it.

“Kojuro, I’m coming in.” He announced himself, Shigezane tried to stop him.

“Good morning, Lord Masamune, Shigezane.” The siblings greeted them, a look of complete delight in their faces. Masamune stopped in his tracks when he saw that Aki was wearing the kimono he gave her. She never really stopped in making his heart beat faster every time he sees her. A faint blush in his cheeks he sat down.

“Good morning, but is it alright to come in now? are they fully clothed already?!” Shigezane asked, clearly directing the question to Masamune. He was still hiding outside the door. Aki and Kojuro exchanged glances, clearly confused at what Shigezane is babbling about.

“He heard Kojuro groan and Aki sounding relieved, and you were talking about… something… tight… so…” Masamune barely explained things before Aki bursted into laughter and Kojuro rubbing his temples.

“Did he just really imagined two siblings, doing sexual things together?” Kojuro groaned, before standing up and dragging Shigezane inside,

“Ah my sides hurt! Ahahahahhahaah! Aniue was just tying my obi in place, he tied it tight the first time so I asked him to loosen it up. Idiot Shigezane!” She laughed, holding her sides. Masamune and Kojuro also laughed with her.

“AH, I get it I get it. I am sorry. This is embarrassing.” He said, but Shigezane just laughed it off. “By the way, I heard from the retainers this morning that Masamune here received a list of his potential bride, man I was happy that he was finally getting hitched!” he put an arm around Masamune’s shoulders.

“We already know.” The Katakura siblings answered at the same time, making Shigezane shut his mouth.

“So when are ya going to get hitched, Kojuro nii-chan?” Aki asked.

“I will not comment on that,” Kojuro answered her,

“You are getting old, you should find a wife soon.” Shigezane added, even Masamune seemed to agree with what he said.

“More importantly, Lord Masamune. Have you considered on who you wanted to consider as your bride?’ Kojuro asked Masamune this time.

“Ohoooo. We’re talking about brides now!” Shigezane cheered. Masamune and Aki blushed feintly, which Shigezane had caught a glimpse of. He ignored the tight feeling in his chest, after all, he just broke his heart by loving her.

“About that, I would like to ask Aki if she can accompany me this morning,” Masamune asked, his eyes were fixed on Kojuro, asking him as Aki’s older brother. “I am asking you since you are her older brother,”

“Milord, you don’t have to. If Aki wants to, then I do not any objections.” Kojuro smiled,

“I don’t mind, Lord Masamune.” Aki answered, grinning at Masamune, “I’ll accompany you as long as you’d like me to, by your side. Hehe” She winked at him.

“Aki…” Masamune blushed, while Kojuro and Shigezane broke into laughter.

“What’s this Aki?! Ahahahaha you suck at flirting!” Shigezane retorted,

“Was it really that terrible?!” She asked, but she was surprised  by Shigezane’s next words.

“Masamune, while the two of you are out, take care of the woman I love alright? Yes, I mean Aki.” Shigezane said, patting Masamune on his shoulder. There was a moment of tension in the room.

“… I will.” Masamune answered,

“Well, I need to go to Ayame, I bet she’s looking for me. See ya later!” Shigezane excused himself, not even bothering to look at Aki or to wait for their response.

Aki can only look down as the man she loves walks out of the room.

Pressed Flowers

One | Two | Three.

It's been almost a year and a half ever since he stepped foot in his house. Things changed.

His usual lively apartment had lost its usual color. Everything for him looked like blurry and gray. The portrait of Rika hanging in his living room was now covered in dust, along with the other photos. The flowers in his garden started to wilt and die. He forgot when it all started, him starting to neglect his well being and everything else around him. It could just be his nature, to take care of others before himself. But he knew that this time he clearly forgot himself as a person; he only thought of saving others to the point that his beliefs and love-- obsession as he realized it, started to blind him.

The jars and the frames was also covered in dust. The vase that his Rika used to put fresh flowers in everyday was full of dead flowers that he forgot to throw away. He needs to clean up his house. He needs to fix himself, and start his second life that she gave him, one baby step at a time.

Because he promised her, and because he wanted to.

The way she described him was something he did not expect. A symbol of rebirth, new beginnings and inspiration; like a daffodil. As far as he knew, daffodils should be given as a bouquet,or a bunch at least. Despite the beautiful meaning it has, a single bloom of the said flower could mean misfortune.

He could be that single bloom, for all he brought to them were problems, including the secrets he has to keep, his obsession that led to Rika to where she is right now, thinking it was the right thing to do. His emotions and philosophy took over him completely. V somehow knew that the innocence behind Rika's eyes could be something dark, that is just waiting for the light in order to get fed; and he was that light, that fed that darkness, leading her to be a person that she had become.

"V," he turned around to see Jumin, along with Jaehee who had brought the materials from the previous party.

"Jumin, Jaehee." He greeted them as cheerfully as he could. But the unconvinced look on Jumin's face tells him that he failed trying to look alright.

"I got a call from the hospital. They said that she could be discharged any time today." Jumin said,

"But we have few problems, V. She recently got kicked out of her own apartment, due to financial reasons, and she doesn't have any friends or relatives to take care of her." Jaehee explained, giving V some information that they gathered while she was in the hospital.

"Hmm. I heard she works as an artist, but she mentioned that she stopped doing exhibits months ago." Jumin's words made V think; why did she stop?

"Well, I could always get her a unit to stay in and a personal nurse to take care of her and a maid who can tend to her needs." Jumin added, getting his phone from his coat.

"I don't think there's any need, Jumin. She can stay with me, I can take care of her too." V stopped his friend before he made the call. What he said, however made Jaehee and Jumin confused.

"V, your eyes weren't that good anymore, you know that right?" Jaehee took the words right out of Jumin's mouth that all he could do was nod.

"I can still see clearly with my left eye. I'm sure I can take care of her until she gets well. When that time comes, I'll have my surgery." There was determination in his voice. He felt like he needed to take responsibility for her, after all, she saved his life. This is only one of the many ways he can do to repay his debt.

-

She stared outside the hospital window. Although she could barely feel the pain from the wound the doctor advised her not to move too much. Countless thoughts occupied her mind. She could be discharged today, but what will happen after? Saeyoung visited her as he would often do whenever Saeran was resting.

She was in a comatose for almost a month, nearly lost her life trying to protect V. Now, she might have lost her home.

"Saeyoung," she called him trying to get a closer look to the red headed hacker of the RFA.

"Mmm?" He answered,

"I've been meaning to ask this but have you seen my eyeglasses? I really have a poor eyesight and I can't see very clearly. I thought maybe you saw it somewhere." She sait down beside him, waiting for him to answer.

"You don't remember? It shattered when you... um."

"Oh." She mumbled. Mentally doing computations of how much it would cost her the hospital bill, rent and now the cost of having new eyeglasses.

This is the only time that she wanted to mentally slap herself. She should have finished the manuscript for her novel and participated in exhibits. But no matter how much she tried she just cannot do it. Now she has to stress over the fact that no one would actually take care of her when she gets home. If she still has a home, that is.

"The doctor said you will be discharged today, but who is going to take care of you?" Saeyoung asked. Oh, how she wished she could answer that.

"I have some friends who can--"

"But you don't have any friends or relatives." He said flatly. Looking through the information he hacked for security reasons. "I'd love to take care of you but..."

"That kind of hurts. Alright I don't know who or how. As long as I have a home to go back to then I'll be fine. Don't worry about me, just take care of Saeran." She answered in defeat, she doesn't know either. There was a comfortable silence between them as they continue to look outside the window. It was a beautiful afternoon. She took out her phone to play some good old music, "Aubrey" by Bread.

Both she and Saeyoung smiled upon hearing the song. They both agreed that it was a relaxing song to listen to in a sunny afternoon. She often spends afternoon like this doing some art, writing and reading. She missed doing it.

"Why did you do it? Save us, I mean. We only talked for 11 days but you willingly saved me and my brother. You even took a bullet for V." Saeyoung broke the silence between them. But his question also left her curious of the reason why she did it. She pondered for a while, looking for the reason herself, was it because of V? No, it wasn't.

"I don't know, I have this sense of responsibility ever since I was young, that I have to protect those important to me. Even if it costs me something." She answered, looking straight into his golden eyes, "I wouldn't say that I saved you or your brother. I'm just a tag along you know? But one thing I knew is, I just made up my mind, that no matter what happens, I want to see you with your brother again. As for V, when I saw the gun, my body just moved on its own to shield him." She explained. She saw Saeyoung's lip curve into an apologetic smile,

"You almost lost your life because of us. When you were in critical condition, and in a comatose. I thought I'd lose my mind. I don't think I could forgive myself if that happened." He said, fidgeting his fingers. Of course, she should have thought of her actions first. But in a situation like that, she can't take her time thinking of things.

"I'm sorry for being reckless, but I am here, alive and well. Saeyoung, everything will be fine." She hoped, the moment she said that they heard a knock before the door opened, revealing Jumin and V.

The atmosphere in the room turned tense and cold. This is the first time Saeyoung and V met since the incident happened. She looked at the two of them, Saeyoung's knuckles turning white. What the red headed feels was completely valid, what happened to his brother was not something a guardian would do. His trust was broken by none other than V himself.

She lightly stroked Saeyoung's back before smiling at him. "You should go, Saeran must be awake by now," she urged him. Her words somehow managed to calm him down a little. Anymore longer that the two stay in the same place she was sure that it would turn to something bad. Saeyoung quietly left the room, briefly saying good bye to them.

The guilt and regret in V's eyes were evident; he couldn't look to Saeyoung even when he left the room. Yet he still tried to hide it, they all know that they needed some time before getting to talk to each other.

"How are you feeling?" Jumin asked first, breaking the tension in the room.

"I'm feeling a lot better, the doctor said I can go home but reminded me not to move too much." She beamed a smile.

"We already paid for the hospital bill. As for your home... you were kicked out of your apartment." Jumin said flatly. She figured that would be the case, she just chuckled.

"... they couldn't wait until I get discharged huh. But thank you very much. I'll pay you for the hospital bills, although it might take a while." She said to Jumin.

"Don't think about it. No amount of money could replace what you did for me. Your belongings were already at my house. You'll be staying with me from now on. That is why we are here to fetch you." V smiled, his face emitting a light she knew very well. It felt like the first time they met each other. But after adoring him, was only then she understood what he said.

V,

Long time no see, it's been almost a year since I last saw you. People have been looking for the new photographs you make. Nevertheless, they still felt happy whenever they see your photos, both new and old enthusiasts of your yours. The happiness of the lily of the valley has come back, thanks to the photos that inspired me to do so. I hope the next time I see you, we can introduce ourselves to each other, properly.

Pressed Flowers

one | two

The first few months since she received the letter, was something she looked forward to. She wanted to meet him again. To ask V how he takes such bright photos and how he instills such hope in them. Every exhibit she participated in, she hoped that they'd be able to cross paths again.

She's as curious as he is about their worlds.

Days, weeks, months, years flew by. They never saw each other again, yet she can still see the soul of him in each new work of his displayed.

Things started to change drastically.

A year and a half, but there's no signs of him. Not even a single new photo.

V disappeared.

No more light

No more yang.

It's as if the balance was no longer there. Only a hole of black.

The people who came to see his photographs only sees the same thing over and over again, they wanted to see something new. V was on a hiatus, and they never got to talk to each other again.

His fiancee took her own life. That's what they all said, she truly felt sorry for him. It must have affected him so much. She could not do anything for him, not even write a condolence. She could only pray for him.

V's hiatus somehow had an impact on her, yet she knew she should keep on creating. She could manage alone, not that she was completely dependent on him. She still gets invitation from numerous museums. But this time, she wanted to see the smiles of people. The smile his photos brought to them.

V's absence from the art industry made her want to study a new style of art; something completely different from her past styles, pieces of work where people can see the happiness. Something that can be a substitute from the beautiful photographs of his, until he comes back. Until the light of the art galleries comes back.

Each work of hers, she tried to resonate through them a beautiful soul of a man named V. The person who inspired not just her, but a lot of people.

Trying a new style was a success for her. It paid off well. The smiles she wished to see again was now within her reach. Art enthusiasts complimented her, that it was refreshing, to see a new side of her world. Like the lily of the valley regaining its happiness. But her works where nowhere as beautiful as V. She wanted to show it to him someday, and tell him that the happiness has found its way into her paintings.

The letter he wrote her along with some flowers he sent was still kept in her drawer. She somehow preserved them while keeping it pressed inside her thick journal. From time to time she kept reading them, it brought her motivation to try and make new things. She also tried to write another letter back, three years had passed, so she wasn't really sure if he can still remember her. She was just a nobody back then.

"... When will she regain consciousness?" That voice, could it be...?

"She's still in a critical condition, we don't know how long she will be in comatose."

Next, she heard a faint sob. She knew it belonged to a man. Mumbling the words "I'm sorry, I am really sorry."

'Ah, there it is again.' She thought to herself. It was those voices again. After a long dream she had of the past, she was almost sure she was in the present, until the excruciating pain in her side made her remember a lot of things. She wanted to bathe herself in the light of her dreams again. She tried to go back to sleep, only to see her body moving to its own accord, pushing V aside from the bullet that was meant for him, next, the pool of her own blood, a woman's scream and people around her in panic. All she could think of was Saeyoung, Saeran and V's safety.

Fluttering her eyes open, she saw three people in the room; Jumin, Zen and him. She was so sure she should see them clearly, but all she can see was a blur of figures, considering that she was fully awake. The sunlight entering the room was too much for her eyes to take. But then she remembered her other condition.

"Huuuh?! What makes you think I want to be in the same room as you?! I came here to see if she was awake. Damn it." She heard Zen's annoyed voice clearly. Jumin on the other hand was quiet. What looked to be a banter was actually normal for her. She could only smile at the sight of them. The warmth was actually a proof that she is still alive and well.

"You do know that you cannot really avoid me. We talk with each other on the messenger, another member was in dang--"

"Gaaah! I don't want to hear it anymore!" Zen gave up, "I came here because I know my beauty could awaken our beloved party coordinator, not to waste my time on some trust fund kid!"

It's lively in here, she thought. She knew they were alright, just hearing the usual exchanges of Jumin and Zen, and V just silently smiling at the sight of them. He must have felt her gaze, as he moved towards her, clearly struggling with a cane in his hand.

"V...?" His name was the first word she uttered after being unconscious for almost a month. After attempting to sit, She could feel her muscles not really being cooperative to her movements.

The room turned quiet, all of the attention was on her. V came to her first, trying to reach out to her despite his worsening eye condition. She can tell from the relieved look on their faces that it was an anxious wait and days of restlessness for her to wake up. Zen and Jumin left the room quietly, leaving only the two of them.

"I'm here. How do you feel?" He asked, his voice was as gentle as she could remember it from the first time they met each other, just hearing his voice made her felt relief. It was worth it.

"How long... was I out?" She asked, her voice coming out as a whisper.

"... almost a month." He smiled faintly.

"I feel fine. What about you? You're not hurt are you?" She still managed to ask him.

"You should be worried about yourself," V said, his voice turning hoarse, "You shouldn't have done that. Please get mad... get mad at me, I brought you into this. If I weren--" he frowned. She could tell, that he was feeling complicated. Of course, no one wanted this to happen. But she couldn't get mad at him, that will come later. He's been feeling anxious, and despite her state she was willing to make him feel better.

"V, I want to say two things. One, do not ever blame yourself for what happened to me. We all have choices, I made mine, and I'd do it again. Two, I am the happiest person right now to know that Saeyoung has his brother back, all of you are alright atleast, physically, and Rika... I hope she gets well through treatment." She managed to tell him, although her voice was weak. Stroking his hand gently she tried to look straight into his eyes, as if reassuring him at everything will fall in its right places.

"Thank you... I don't deserve to be saved by you. I am grateful, is there anything I can do atleast... to repay you for saving my life?"

She only thought of one thing.

.

.

V came out of her room feeling complicated. But he is a man of his words. He looked for Jumin first, telling him of her request.

"I'm going to do the surgery, Jumin." V said, earning as surprised look from both Jumin and Zen,

“What made you change your mind so suddenly...?” Zen asked, V could only smile as he kept in mind of her request.

‘You said, that a Lily of the Valley should have its happiness regained. Those words helped me develop not just my art, but myself also. V, to us you were like a daffodil. A symbol of rebirth, inspiration and new beginnings. You've brought happiness to people around you through photos. Could you let yourself see the world in such light and hope again? Just like you did back then, please, it's the only way I can think of. See the world clearly, and make yourself happy again, that's all I ask of you.’
