SHŌGUN Chapter Four: The Eightfold Fence
Anna Sawai as Mariko in SHŌGUN - Chapter Four: The Eightfold Fence
Hello! I see you accept requests so, if it’s not too much to ask, could you gif John and Mariko’s night together? I mean, from when she enters his room. Thank you so much ❤️
Here you go! Kind of a pain in the butt to gif because it was so dark but I did my best to brighten it up a bit without it looking super low quality. 🙃
"Mariko-san?" At once fingers reached up in the darkness and touched his lips, cautioning silence. He nodded, understanding the awful risk they were taking. - Shōgun by James Clavell

Mariko: What would you do there (London), on a night like this? Blackthorne: Well, if you were with me, all the way from the Japans, I'd take you to see my Queen. Mariko: Would she receive us? Blackthorne: Oh, yes, I'm sure. And we'd tour the grounds at the Richmond Palace. Sit down for a stuffy dinner, and then to make up for it, I'd take us all to see a play.

I know he likes boiling people alive and is a traitorous snake but I just love Yabushige, he's so entertaining lol
He has been a joy to watch. Such a great character!
The preview for the next episode. Poor bb Mariko. 😭
Hi! New here, but I’ve been seeing your posts on Shogun. Btw, did Fuji know it was Mariko? That was the only part that confused me. It kind of seemed like it, right? Since they both chose the courtesan…
In the book, Fuji knows it's Mariko. "Are you insane?!" She says to her before Mariko sneaks into his room. As far as in the show, in the morning after it's unclear that Fuji knows what the heck is going on when Mariko mentions the courtesan. She looked confused at being mentioned by name to me, but I think Mariko was just providing plausible deniability by saying that. She's supposed to be grieving for her husband, not jumping into bed with her lord's newest vassal, lol.
I know they darkened her face out a little, but are people really confused as to who "pillowed" with Blackthorne? I mean I've read the book so I know it was Mariko disguised as a maid, but it's just odd that so many people actually believe her when she says she hired a courtesan even while being so transparently coy with Blackthorne and then smiling knowingly about it in a hint hint, wink wink kind of way.
