Hi! I genuinely hope you’re doing well. I also hope you get back on this blog in the future, i really like it! Love and light x

Hi!! I haven’t posted on this blog in a long time, but I felt compelled to answer this. I’m doing ok! I hope you’re also doing well ❤️

I’m considering using this blog again tbh, I sort of dropped witchcraft when I got into this “relationship” with someone who didn’t believe in a lot of that stuff (he made fun of it actually) and I sort of pushed it away, but two years later I’m getting back into my crystals and doing tarot, so who knows what doors will open!

I’d love to catchup with you all and see what’s changed over the past three years. I’ll have to get on my computer and update my bio, I’m 23 now lol, but otherwise I’m the same old me!

Someone in one of my witchcraft groups said “ there are just as many paths of witchcraft as there are practioners”

I just feel like this is SO important.

Witchy Tip: Glamours For Men

Whenever I see glamour spells, they’re usually in regards to makeup or feminine maintenance. This isn’t a bad thing - those spells are wonderful, and I love reading them (especially given the fact that I see them as being useful for myself at times). But often I find that there’s a bit of a lack of glamour spells for men.

I’m talking about glamour spells for shaving, for cologne, and the like. And while this is a tip and meant to be brief, I wanted to put a few out for my male followers who want to keep up a masculine appearance, but want to work a little magic into their daily routines!

Shaving: Depending upon your shaving method, there are plenty of ways to work in glamours. I personally use a safety razor and shaving soap (you know, the old-fashioned kind with the ceramic dish and solid soap bar inside that you froth up with water and a hog-hair brush). If you use this method, choose scents that you associate with that which you want to bring into your life (patchouli for enhancing masculine fertility, dragon’s blood for strength, et cetera). If the type of soap you buy has scented options, this is a great way to work it in. If not, be careful to check and see if it is safe to work essential oils into your lather. (It is important to use safe oils and in small amounts, as shaving causes micro-abrasions on the skin; if it is not a safe oil, or you’re using too much of it, it will cause the skin to dry out.)

A similar method can be applied to other lathers and creams, though these often come with plenty of scents.

Working sigils into makeup is a frequent form of glamour spell, and shaving can incorporate this as well. With a small amount of the lather, you can draw the sigil onto your skin before spreading it out - spread the lather out in clockwise circular motions while visualizing and focusing your intent into your skin and lather.

Shaving can also be a spell unto itself - the scraping away of negative traits or energy. As you shave away your hair, visualize the negative energies or negative traits coming up off of your skin and being removed from your body.

And I should point out that these shaving tips apply not only to the face, but to wherever you are shaving. That said, if you’re “manscaping,” I would recommend against using the oils unless you’re absolutely certain that they’re safe, and recommend choosing scents and sigils for increasing potency, male sexual energy, et cetera.

Colognes: As I get into this, I want to make a huge point here. Guys, whether you’re into other men, into women, or into the whole spectrum, scent has no gender. What can often be universally agreed is that some body sprays simply aren’t appealing. First step to scent-based glamour spells is to avoid scents that make you smell like the inside of a middle school (or even high school) locker room after PE or a football game. For the majority of ladies and men, that’s just not an appealing scent (and sprays are often more damaging to your environment than is immediately realized).

That said, deodorants and colognes are a great way to work some glamour into your daily routine. Select scents that you associate with your goal. If you’re using a stick deodorant, you can mark a sigil on the bottom of the container, or you can take a moment to hold the deodorant in your hand and empower it with your intent. The same can be done with colognes and perfumes (yes, perfumes… again, scent has no gender). Floral and fruity scents can work wonders, so choose floral or fruity scents associated with your intention.

Skin and Hair Care: It is important to remember that while society on the whole doesn’t seem to focus much on male skin and hair care, it is still vitally important. Using moisturizers is beneficial, and sigils and the like can be worked into your skin - scents add further benefits for this. As you wash and moisturize, again use your intentions and energy to confer those intentions into your spell.

Though for the most part, shorter hairstyles are the norm for men, that isn’t to say that glamours can’t be incorporated. Sigils on your products, empowering your shampoos and pomade, rinsing your hair with essential oils. All of these can be done to further reinforce your glamours.

Clothing and Accessories: Whether you wear jewelry or not, this is still an option for men. If you wear jewelry, you can empower your accessories with your intention. Clothing can be marked with sigils on the tags, or washed with appropriate oils. Anything that works with your appearance can be incorporated into a glamour spell!

Last point I want to make is that glamour spells unto themselves are gender neutral. If there’s any take away I want there to be with this witchy tip, it’s that everyone can be beautiful/handsome and can incorporate magic into their routine to add to that. Confidence and humility are sexy, and by embracing your personal style and adding your own magical flair, you can further empower these aspects into your life!

Blessed Be, and Hugs to All! )O(

Y’all they really done messed up now

I am seriously fuming.

If any of you are into Norse paganism than you probably know who The Witch of the Norse is, aka Faye. She is a huge blogger in the magick community.

And she got her blog deleted.

Out of nowhere, gone, years of her hard work just thrown away by @staff

She suspects it may have to do with her speaking out against white supremacy for the past few days.

Right now she is trying to petition to get her blog back but right now follow her at @thewitchofthenorseispissed to help support her.

Please help spread the word to let tumblr know that this crap is unacceptable and that people’s blogs shouldn’t get taken away out of the blue like this

Do you know of any alternatives to a dream catcher? I had no idea that it was a part of someone's culture, I just thought people had them because they were neat.

i was going to have nice links and stuff but i was so depressed, however i didn’t just want to leave this!

so alternatives to dream catchers!

witches ladders. they are knot magic with added trinkets, usually feathers! while braiding or knotting just think of the intention of what you want out of it. an added bonus is the fact you can add things you associate with a goods nights sleep, or gems that offer magical properties of sleeping well, good dreams, nightmare reflection ect.

my favorite is satchels that can be made cheaply, filled with herbs and stones of your choice. when completed, put the satchel under a pillow or your bed!

similar to satchels are poppets, or a teddy bear works great for this if you have sewign skills. if you can make a small incision on the bottom of the bear (or stuffed animal/poppet) and while thinking on your intent put charged herbs and gems inside. then just close them right up adn sleep with the bear with you or near you.

if you like the looks of dream catchers to aid in helping you get better dreams i would suggest wreathes, you can add what ever decorations that match your aesthetic and practice, and it won’t be appropriation because its not from a closed religion

and this is a good sight that talks about a few stones that work well

Oooh, I like this post. This is a Good Post.

I actually (shamefully) have a dream catcher that I’m only holding onto because I like the look of it (and because it was a gift from my older sister, who I love dearly).

I’ve wanted to take it down, because appropriation is Not Okay, but I wanted to put something in its place and didn’t know what. And now I know what.

I’m going to make myself a nice alternative and retire the dream catcher to storage (because I can’t bear to completely part with it, because treasured gift). So glad I found this post!

Hey ok speaking as someone who has grown up in Cree culture and has spoken to elders about this- dream catchers are 100% ok for non-natives to use. They sell them to non-natives for the very reason they are ok with it and it’s not appropriation. That said you should aim to buy actual native made ones, not mass produced Chinese ones, but according to every elder I have asked, dream catchers are ok. Also re non natives making dream catchers for personal use- I have been told by elders this is fine. I was taught directly by elders myself who showed me how to cut willow and weave the sinew. I was teased by the younger natives for going to the work of doing it the hard traditional way when I could buy a hoop. Things like eagle feathers which are sacred obviously are a huge no, but dream catchers themselves are frequently given to outsiders and not considered by natives themselves to be part of a closed religion. I appreciate what you are trying to do here, but it’s probably better to let actual natives speak instead of talking over them about what is and isn’t appropriation to them. My family is a whole mix of cultures thanks to adoptions and even though I’m not Cree, half my family is, so it kind of bugs me seeing non natives making judgements without actually consulting anyone.

Oh, that’s a neat perspective! I’m glad you replied! Thank you. :3

(I still plan to retire this particular dream catcher to storage because I’m almost positive it’s one of the cheapo Chinese sweatshop ones…)

Hey!! A cree/Mi'kmaq gal here as well, dream catchers are 100% okay!! Again, just get them from native sources, even if that happens to be online- if they’re from a native source no sacred items that could be seen as cultural appropriation in the hands of a non-native will be included usually. The one thing about dream catchers is that you should! Not! Get them tattooed. As dream catchers are supposed to absorb negative energy and nightmares it is basically like cursing yourself, and that is never fun!

You can also make a dream-net/curtain. I’m not sure what the ‘origin’ of it is, but my grandma made them for new babies!

I asked a native neighbor about this a while back and he said the same thing: dream catchers are okay for non-native people to use BUT you should buy them from natives. Not the knockoffs you find from non-natives. Those people who sell the knockoffs are trying to make a profit off of native people’s culture, and that’s extremely uncool. He also said they’re not going to work, anyway…so just don’t buy them off of non-natives.

100% agree. Dream catchers are okay, guys! Again, just get them from those who are actually Native as much as possible, because it helps them make a living and continue on their traditions!

Here are some Native-run businesses:

🎃 50 (Witchy) Things to Do With a Notebook 👻

I’ve got an ongoing list of things to do with a blank notebook or journal (because I can’t stop buying them), and I’ve pulled out the ones that I think might be of interest to magical, witchy, or pagan types. Hopefully, if you guys find yourselves stuck in front of that first blank page, there’ll be something here to inspire you!

Some of these examples have links or descriptions to further elaborate on what I pictured when I put them on the list, but don’t feel boxed in by any of these! Always feel free to think outside of the box.

🎃 Magical Journal YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT IT IS :’))  👻 Dream Journal 🎃 Psychic Journal  [1][2] Keep a record of your insights, premonitions and predictions. Be sure to make a note of when you’re right! 👻 Prayer/Chant Journal Even if you don’t write your own, having the ones you enjoy all in one place makes a great reference. 🎃 Meditation Journal [1][2] Journaling can be a form of meditation in and of itself, but you can also keep track of your meditation experiences or just log when you do it. If you’re doing guided meditations, you can list which ones you used as well. 👻 Test Spellbook [1] 🎃 Divination Journal Keep track of your readings, done and received, as well as any other progress  👻 Book of Shadows 🎃 “Rough Draft” Book of Shadows Work out your BOS before committing it into a larger, more expensive book 👻 Ritual Record Apparently if you do them, you might want to keep track of them. 🎃 Gratitude Journal [1] 👻 Messages from Deity 🎃 Letters to Deity 👻 Manifestation Journal [1][2] 🎃 Reading List(s) You can make your own list of books you want to read for your path, or copy down the suggestions of others. 👻 Nature Journal [1] 🎃 Research Journal Make note of your questions, goals, and sources! 👻 Genealogy/Ancestor Journal [1][2][3] 🎃 Gardening Journal [1][2][3] 👻 Personal Almanac Make a personal, customized version of the magical almanacs or planners that get released every year.  🎃 Collect Truth Write down the things you agree with. why do you agree? Decide what’s true, or what feels true. If you can, include things that you don’t actually agree with, but you still think are true – that’s a fun thing to contemplate.  👻 Collect Lies I actually started keeping track of the false beliefs I’d either told myself or had been told, and perhaps a little more tricky – things I see others telling each other that I don’t agree with. Feel free to talk about why you have decided these are lies. And look back every now and then to see if you still agree with yourself. 🎃 Formulas Write down your favourite (or even experimental!) recipes for oils, incenses, inks, or whatever else you’ve got going in the cauldron so that you don’t forget how to make them. 👻 Your Personal “Bible” [1][2] 🎃 Sigil Codebook [1] 👻 Sigil Logbook Log sigils you’ve made or found for future reference. 🎃 Personal Symbol Log [1] 👻 Affirmation Journal [1][2] 🎃 Recipe Book Invaluable for a kitchen witch, especially if you’re keeping track of the magical effects of certain recipes! 👻 Book Exercise Journal Almost every book and every course suggests keeping a journal for it to record your progress, do the assignments, et cetera. 🎃 Spelled Book Turn each page into a spell! Rip it out or otherwise engage with the page to use it. 👻 Spirit Dossiers If you work with spirits, keep profiles of their personalities, likes, dislikes, interactions with them, et cetera. 🎃 Charger Book Imbue pages with a magical signature, leave objects on page to charge them. 👻 Book of Spreads I’ve got two spread books – one book has my own spreads, and one book has spreads from other people that I’ve liked. Make notes of the sacred sites, where spirits live, your local witchy stores, places you do ritual, which grocery store sells fresh basil, where you found the wood you used for your wand, crossroads, and other places of interest. 👻 Astral Mapping Similar to the above, but for those of y’all who go Over There. 🎃 Good Ideas I keep a notebook of magical concepts and ideas I find in fiction that I want to figure out how to recreate in real life. 👻 Aesthetic Scrapbook If you’re developing a magical aesthetic [1][2], then keep a book devoted to that! 🎃 Shadow Work Journal [1][2] 👻 (Witchy) Things To Do With A Blank Notebook Keep your own list! When you’re not sure what to do with your next blank notebook, see what stands out on the list and try it out!  🔮

Something that baffles me is when people compare Aphrodite to “bloody” goddesses (Anat, Inanna, Sekhmet, etc.) as a way to say Aphrodite is just a demure love goddess teehee, look how badass my warrior goddess is instead.

Aphrodite Ourania rose out of blood and the ocean and walked to land fully-formed. This Aphrodite is a Titaness, older even than the generation of Zeus. She has no mother. She is never an infant. She is the ultimate generative power, the fish, born from a male (upending societal norms) and wielding the power of creation and invention.

Aphrodite Areia is a war goddess - this is the title made famous by Athena and Ares, but Aphrodite does not get this title from her lover. She is a goddess of soldiers and fights on the battlefield of Troy. She is also Aphrodite Hoplismena, the armed, depicted in full armor with a shield and sword. This is the Aphrodite of Sparta.

Aphrodite Nikephoros is not only Aphrodite armored and armed, but Aphrodite commanding the power of Nike - Nike, the goddess usually found at Zeus’s side, ensuring victory. This Aphrodite is not one to be crossed on the battlefield, because you will not win.

Or maybe we just aren’t on the same page as the ancients when it comes to a “love goddess.” Aphrodite Pandemos is a goddess of frenzy, a goddess who incites war and madness, a goddess to whom it was said even the Fates would bend their will. To some Hellenes, Aphrodite was the goddess of creation because she is the spark of all love and desire - and to others, she was the creator of all.

There’s nothing wrong in calling Aphrodite a goddess of love - she is, truly. But this doesn’t make her timid. She is not clawless. She is a complex goddess, inextricably linked to the awesome war goddesses of the Ancient Near East. Do not dilute her just because you’re not familiar with her or with the domain of love goddesses. I know this may seem trivial to some people, but don’t reduce one goddess to make another look more powerful - they don’t need it.

🕯️Ways to Celebrate Imbolc 💐

Imbolc is celebrated on or around February first to welcome the earliest beginnings of spring.

🕯️Honor or welcome the sun by lighting a candle in your home (you can do a fake candle if you’re not allowed to light a real candle). If you really want to go all out, you can light every single fake and real candle in your house! 🕯️Get crafty! Make candles, Brighid’s Crosses, Brighid dolls, sun catchers, or start building a garden. Imbolc is a great time to plant seeds (unless it’s too cold outside; indoor gardens are always an option)! 🕯️Decorate your altar and/or home with crystals, flowers, stones, candles, images of the sun, or any other decor that celebrates the coming spring! 🕯️Divine your future! Get out your tarot cards, pendulum, dowsing rod, bones, or other divining tools and ask for advice or insight into the future. 🕯️Take care of yourself and your home! Do some spring cleaning and cleansing and take time for yourself. Take a bath, clean off your desk, do some easy cleaning or deep cleaning, whatever you prefer. This is a great time for cleansing and purification! 🕯️Cook and share with friends and family! Pies, cookies, bread, whatever you want. If you have the energy, you can cook a feast and celebrate with your loved ones, including deceased loved ones. 🕯️Visit a lake, stream, well, or another body of water. If you want to, dip a ribbon in the body of water and then hang it on a tree (remember to not litter; you could use a tree in your yard and later tie the ribbon off) to send a message of hope and healing! 🕯️Visit a park, lake, or forest and pick up litter. This is a great way to honor the coming of spring, but if it is too cold, you can always wait until it gets warmer! 🕯️Say goodbye to winter and start to welcome spring! You can do this through prayers, spells, thoughts, or actions. Meditation is one great way that you can do this! Cleansing, new beginnings, thriving, purification, and gratitude spells are also great ideas. 🕯️Honor Brighid if you wish to! You can make Brighid crosses or dolls, set a special place for Her on your altar or in your home, give Her a prayer or offering, or something else that honors Her during this special day.

ASBESTOS IS BEING USED IN REIKI/CRYSTAL HEALING - PSA MASTER POST

Worryingly Asbetos is being made into homepoathic wands and reki stones. Most worryingly claiming to cure CANCER, which Asbestos causes.

Being sold to many people under the intentions of bring a bonding action between one and the subject of one’s desires“ and claiming that it’s the “etheric blueprint to correct imbalances and blockages that could manifest as physical disease and to heal cellular memory, one of the best stones for rousing the kundalini energies“  Chrysotile a type of Asbestos is quickly becoming one of the most requested minerals in reiki and crystal healing.  And it’s not the only type of Asbestos being sold as a healing crystal.

Above is Richterite, it’s known to be as dangerous as any of the other Asbestos in the six categories and is being sold to people promising ironic cures for liver, pancreas, kidney or breast cancer.

Above is Tigers Eye, everyone knows it looks cool but it is also Asbestos and although polished Health Protection Agency in the U.K., claim these are still dangerous.

While some types of asbestos may be more hazardous than others, all are dangerous. Leading health agencies, including the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the EPA and the International Agency for Research on Cancer, classify all types of asbestos as cancer-causing substances.

The following are all a type of asbestos: chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, tremolite, winchite, suglite, richterite, actinolite and anthophyllite.

All the identified forms of asbestos can cause asbestosis, malignant mesothelioma, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, laryngeal cancer and other serious diseases and will not cure any form of cancer. Some agencies, such as the Health Protection Agency in the U.K., claim amphibole varieties of asbestos are the most dangerous forms. The EPA has abandoned projects aiming to identify which asbestos fiber types are the most toxic, citing the overall regulation of asbestos and asbestiform minerals as a more pressing priority.

EXCUSE ME WTF

Literally my reaction too, for just $20 you can pay to have a lump of raw asbestos shipped to you to cure you of various forms of cancer.

I don’t know if this is true but kids do your research before you do anything with stones or minerals because some of them can kill.

Aaaand this is one of the reasons why the whole “place your crystal in water and drink the magic water” trend is a bad idea. Like, for any crystal, don’t do that. That’s how some kids got arsenic poisoning recently because the stones started fucking dissolving.

If you’re going to get into crystals for any sort of therapeutic (or even just for the shiny!) purposes, please do some basic research if you plan to be handling them a lot, or using them with clients.

Here’s a fairly comprehensive list of possibly toxic crystals:

Have fun.
