“What do you think?!” you snap, turning to face him. You’d been checking your nets the entire night; not a single catch. Not even something mediocre. Absolutely nothing at all. 

          “It’s absolute bullshit is what it is, that I haven’t been able to catch a single goddamn thing!”

        “Eh?” You hadn’t expected anyone to come in on... This. If it had been anyone else within the team, you would make an effort to hide the mess of crumpled papers that surround you. 

         Doing as much would have little effect on Nii-san, however. 

         “... Maybe a l’il--” you admit, sheepishly. “’t’s jus’... been a while since ‘ve drawn anythin’, so ‘m not happy with any ‘f it--” And so you’d toss the crumpled papers around the room. ( Thankfully for you, you’d had enough mind to keep paperclips nearby-- Just to make the cleanup of your mess much easier when you finally decide to do so. )

           “That’s jus’ what happens when y’ ain’t happy with your work an’ you’re bored outta y’er mind.” 

         “An’ y’think I do?” you ask, a huff of laughter escaping your nose. “Real funny, pipsqueak. Try askin’ some’a your agency pals instead’a me, yeah?” You kick back then, making yourself comfortable. 

          “’m not the best person t’ask about that sorta thing. Ain’t got much experience outside’a the criminal world, y’know?” Only a partial lie, really. You lack a lot of experience on the more... mediocre and childish level due to how sick you had been at her age. ( And before then, too. )

           “Flattered y’thought t’ask me for advice, though.” 

          “Then don’t be.” You state this bluntly, not meeting his gaze. Instead, your attention is directed upwards, gray eyes focusing on the stars in the sky above. ( Of course, you’re very aware of everything going on around you. You are more than ready to make moves to defend yourself, if needed. )

          “If that’s what you think keeps people safe, then don’t be. It’s a conscious decision.”

        “That’s okay.” You’re gentle as always, giving A-Xian your signature kind smile. “... I don’t believe that it’s your job to fix things,” you add, your voice quiet and gentle as you reach out a hand-- Offering to pull him closer to you. “... Neither I, nor A-Cheng, blame you for the way that Mother is towards Father. I want you to know that-- And even if it were, it would not be your job to fix that which is... clearly their own issues to work out.”
