I love your Kenku costume. It's awesome, you did a wonderful job on it. My question is about the eyes on your costume. Do you have to remove the head piece to move the eye lids into another position? Or is there a way to move the eyes without removing the mask?

Thank you!

No head removal necessary, I just change the eyelid positions with my fingers while I’m in costume. I can’t see what I’m doing but I can feel where the lids are, which is enough to estimate the expression. It doesn’t always come out as intended but that’s part of the fun too, I guess!

Its a question about your beautiful Kenku costume; How did you make the legs? not the feet or legging part but more of the fur part that looks like cute silly pants. I can't find any place on the inter webs on how to make any of that part or I might just be looking in the wrong places.

To make the upper legs, I got some shorts from the thrift store, then made fur  tubes and sewed those to the legs. I also sewed fur to the butt and any other places where the shorts might show from under the tunic.

The shorts I chose just happened to be made out of denim, so I’m pleased to tell you that some non-zero percentage of my kenku costume is jorts.

God, I'd like to thank you for introducing me to Running Behind, It's probably the best fanfic I've read in years, hitting all the soft spots I have! I'm in love with your art and general creativity, I don't know how you do it!

AHH Oh my gosh!! I’m really glad you like the fic! It’s one of my favorites, too!

Hi, I used your triceratops head sketch to make a lined and coloured triceratops head. I was wondering if you would be ok with me posting your sketch (with credit to you obvs) alongside my illustration on my website. (If you would like to see the picture just tell me a way to send an imgur link to you.)

Yeah, no worries! Feel free to post it! Thanks a lot for asking. :)

And yes, I’d love to see it! Thanks! :DDD

wow! your cosplays are so impressive!! i especially love your kenku one, how did you do the head and beak shapes? fantastic work btw :000

Thank you so much! You can read about the head and beak stuff in my Kenku Costume FAQ!

Your stuff is so cool! How long did it take for you to make your kenku cosplay?

It took about a month to get it con-ready, but I’ve kept picking at it here and there over the last couple years, improving it a little bit by bit. Like, I redid the feet, overhauled the tunic (both aesthetically and structurally,) added tons of feathers... stuff like that. :)

PSA

Hi everyone, wow! I have been having an unexpected hiatus from Tumblr for about a month! I’m trying to get back into it. I just realized today that I got a bunch of asks and messages that tumblr never alerted me about. Amazing! So if you sent me a message sometime in the last ????? number of weeks, sorry about that! I’m going through them now so sit tight. Thanks for your patience!

Hey! I just wanted to say that I saw your Kenku cosplay and it inspired me to make my own (first) cosplay in time for PAX! If you see a Kenku Druid-looking birb wandering the convention, say hi!

Oh my gosh, that’s so cool!!! THAT’S REALLY COOL, YO!!!! What day were you thinking of wearing it? Maybe we can coordinate and meet up!! Please come off anon so we can make plans or something! 8DDDD

You and your pup are the cutest! You look so happy and that warms my heart

Thanks!! ♥ The pup actually belongs to my friend WickedSairah! Isn’t he the cutest?! His smiley dog face warms my heart, too. ♥

Last weekend I did a photoshoot with my completed Prompto costume! It was a ton of fun and I had a very special (and VERY cute) guest star. It will be a few weeks before I get the pictures back, but in the meantime, here are some selfies from my DIY photoshoot in my bathroom. By the way, I have a bunch of WIP photos, tutorials, and downloadable resources for this costume on my Patreon. (And I also have a ko-fi if you’re into that sort of thing!)

I finished this prop for my Prompto cosplay the other day! It’s the Quicksilver -- the gun with the same name as him. This one is my favorite. ^^ The gun was modeled and generously provided by Vyecos (an amazing cosplayer, please check them out.) I got the model 3D printed, sculpted all the filigree details on there by hand with epoxy, and painted it with iridescent pigments to get that cool patina. It was my first time doing a 3D-printed prop and it wound up being a huge amount of labor, but it was also really fun and I want to do more in the future. There are WIPs of this and the rest of my Prompto cosplay on my patreon!

Shoutout to @repmet for taking reference screenshots for me to base my work on! They saved my life! 🙏
