“Two years after “Sesame Street” debuted an autistic Muppet named Julia on their digital program, the orange-haired tyke is now going to appear on the actual television show.

“It’s tricky because Autism is not one thing, because it is different for every single person who has autism. There is an expression that goes, ‘If you’ve met one person with Autism, you’ve met one person with Autism,’” “Sesame Street” writer Christine Ferraro told “60 Minutes” reporter Lesley Stahl on.

If the character of Julia does her job, Ferraro added, “when [children] encounter [people with disabilities] in their real life it’s familiar. And they see that these — these can be their friends too.”

A survey released by the Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore and Johns Hopkins University in 2012 found that 63 percent of children with autism spectrum disorders had been bullied. They were three times more likely to experience bullying than their non-autistic peers.”

I’m 22– turning 23–with autism and -I- feel validated because she’s been added!

When I was the ages of children who usually watch Sesame Street, this did not exist. Not in the 90’s, or even the early 2000s. No.

Those of us with autism had no one on that show to relate to. (I still enjoyed it because of Big Bird but it’s different for everyone.)

Now there’s finally someone to relate to on the best, longest running children’s show, and the network it’s on is taking a hit because 45 said so.

Tell PBS that this matters much much more. Donate to them, if you can. I don’t want our future generations going without this like I did, like we all did.

ok. it’s time to apply what i’ve been learning in therapy for the past year now

there are circumstances within our control and things that are beyond it. this election is clearly something that falls into the category of the latter. i do know, though, that i’m stubborn and headstrong enough to be able to take on all of the shit that life has to throw at me and that this is just one of those things that has to be dealt with.

i have no idea what’s on the horizon if trump wins. it’s likely not going to be good. but i refuse to catastrophize situations before they’ve happened. i’ll deal with things as they happen. 

i don’t want to play the blame game. i don’t want to be nasty or mean spirited. i don’t want that energy in my life rn because i’m sure there’s going to be a lot of that to deal with in the world without my assisting in its proliferation.

i’m going to do what i can to make the world a brighter place if shit hits the fan because, even if that’s all i’m able to do, it’ll be enough.

Yes it’s a full video game adaptation of that short video, it’s called Detroit: Become Human, by the people who made Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls.

Just jumping in to remind this IS a David Cage game and whatever happens, he’ll do something creepy about it (and stupid too, hello aztec god and space bugs from Indigo Prophecy, the murder mystery).  Ya’ll should be weary as hell about all this, honestly.
