i do have a desire to watch the tw movie out of some sense of like….. obligation to see this train wreck thru to its end

if anyone has (non spoilery) thoughts to share id love to know :p the very LEAST im hoping for is that it does Scott service. he deserves that much

here are my thoughts, as spoiler free as I can make them: considering how much established lore the movie just tosses out of the window, I can’t even reasonably see it as a continuation of the story. it is divorced enough from its source that I am treating it as a poorly written AU fanwork. ... if that at all frees you from the sense of obligation. most characters, and most relationships (of any kind) previously established between characters, get in some way thrown under the bus. it is not rewarding to watch. My expectations were subterranean and someone got really determined with the tunneling equipment.

I do think that Scott does okay enough? But then, I have no strong feelings about the guy so it’s hard for me to really tell.

if you DO have a friend you can watch it with and commiserate about the stupid decisions made in the creation of this movie, it can be an entertaining time, however, not worth it if you have to spend a single fraction of currency of your choice to do it. Fuckin….. yikes lmfao that’s a pretty condemning review. Can’t say I’m surprised but I am disappointed. The show was already so bad about being consistent with lore, ofc the movie is too, christ almighty.

I fully intended to 🏴‍☠️ it, hell no I’m not giving them my money. And the current plan is to watch it with friends because that seems to be the only tolerable way of consuming it 🤪

it’s bad. like i mean we knew it would be bad but it is kinda vindicating. crystal reed’s bad plastic surgery makes many scenes really uncomfortable and confusing. the creators clearly don’t care about characterization or relationships or plotlines beyond ‘haha scott can say fuck’ and the bad guy reveal literally had me howling with laughter. i LOVE scott and i don’t think it did him a disservice but it’s not his shining moment for sure.
