Saw a cute illustration on Pinterest of a Mom doing her daughter’s hair and it inspired this. Hair’s always been important for Madeleina and I think doing her daughter’s hair reminds her of the days her mother would do the same.

Her mother always kept her hair long as well, so into adulthood Madeleina keeps hers long as a way to stay connected to her. Those were really important memories for her.

Some days, it feels like her mother is watching over her and Francesca making those same memories.

ILLARIO DELLAMORTE IS GOOD AT HIS JOB AND PART OF THE CORE CONFLICT WITH LUCANIS IS THAT HE HAS ABSORBED A LOT OF CATERINA'S RHETORIC WITHOUT REALIZING IT

I yell as they drag me off stage

He's in his fucking 30s if he wasn't good he'd be dead. The line "this isn't your kind of job" implies that he HAS gone on solo contracts enough to HAVE a "kind" of job. No matter how many advantages he has by being Caterina's grandson, if Illario is on a contract by himself, he's the only thing keeping himself alive. Especially since TWJ implies he doesn't actually have a lot of personal contacts of his own. We literally see him break someone's neck one handed in game. Do you know how much strength that takes? I know TV and movies make neck snapping seem easy, but it's really not.

The one person who says anything positive about Illario is Teia! She says he's a good assassin and that Lucanis's joins have a tendency to go sideways. Teia was the youngest Talon ever, and she's held on to that position for years. She's also had a front row seat to the Dellamorte drama. If she says someone is a good assassin, then they're a good assassin, AND I'd bet she knows exactly why people don't actually give Illario any credit. (Because he's being compared to Lucanis, who's kind of a bit of a freak. )

Hell, even just reading TWJ Illario had to be good at a lot of assassin skills just to put up with Lucanis's improvising. And that's probably not the weirdest job they've been on.
