Hello, my name is Michelle Gastón. On August I begin my doctoral degree. As most of you know. I eat, sleep, and breathe psychology. It’s my dream 😌 to help people heal 💖 and recover from their past. I personally battled with depression and survived two suicide attempts that landed me in the emergency 🚨 room. After I recovered, I fell in love with psychology. Which is why I decided to become a psychologist. I also created my blog and YouTube channel. To create educational content for everyone. Here’s a photo of me on graduation day for masters in counseling psychology:

After I graduated from masters. I busted my butt off studying 📚 for my psychologist license. I had no life. All I did was study and study and study 🤯. I knew I had to because the license test is made for doctoral students. But here in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 with a masters degree I can work as long as I pass the licensure exam. Therefore, I had to put in extra effort 🤓 to dominate doctoral topics. And guess what I passed!!! 🥳🎉🎊

After that, I searched for anyone willing to hire someone with a masters. Most jobs require doctoral degree. It was heartbreak 💔 after heartbreak. Finally I found someone willing to hire me to work in two schools 🏫 as a psychologist. When suddenly Puerto Rico was hit with a series of earthquakes! All schools closed ❌ due to safety concerns. So I had to wait for engineers 📐to go the two schools I was assigned to, to inspect the building foundation and give the okay 👍🏽 for students to go back. Here are photos 📸 of only one of the many schools that got hit badly:

Since I couldn’t work, I decided to volunteer and go to the areas hit badly to help families 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 that lost everything. Let me tell you that was one of the most hard experiences 😭 I had to endure as a psychologist! Once I was done all I could do was go home to shower 🚿 , eat, and sleep 😴 . The mental fatigue was immense. It was stories of heartbreak after heartbreak. Families who no longer had a home 🏡 to go to. Here’s a photo of me helping:

Once the schools finally opened. I worked for only a 1 month 😞! Unfortunately, COVID-19 🦠 arrived and I couldn’t work because all schools closed ⛔️. My patient’s are low income meaning they don’t have internet or laptop 💻 to receive virtual therapy. So I couldn’t earn anymore money 💰 . Right now the company I worked for isn’t receiving money either, so even if I was able to work. They wouldn’t have the funds to pay 💰 me.

Because of this I couldn’t save up for a laptop 👩🏾‍💻 for school or for my first semester books 📚. Which is why I am asking for help through donations. Any amount is helpful and if you can’t that understandable. Instead, help me by sharing this post.

One of the baristas at a nearby Starbucks makes me lose my mind every time I’m there by saying things that are not outside the spectrum of normal human words but are just slightly off-the-wall.

Barista: Welcome to Starbucks, home of delicious, what deliciousness can I put in motion for you today?

Customer: … Can I get a trenta pink drink please?

Barista: Go big or go home, we here at Starbucks appreciate your commitment, what else can I get started for you?

Customer: Nitro cold brew with shots of espresso please.

Barista: Brave of you to commit to staying awake for three days, anything else today?

Barista: *slams open drive-thru window* HI HOW ARE YOU?

Customer: …I’m pretty good.

Barista: Are you ready to be even better? Because you’re about to be. *hands them their coffee* 

Barista, realizing that a drink was made wrong: *slams open window* SO how do you feel about surprises?

Customer: ….they’re okay.

Barista: Great because I’m about to give you one.

Barista: You have two drinks so I am going to hand you two straws which means, FANTASTIC news, these straws double as drumsticks. / You have one drink so I am going to hand you one straw and, promise not to tell anyone, this straw doubles as a magic wand.

Anyway she has a few dozen catchphrases she rotates approriately and it’s both distracting and fantastic to listen.

when you’re watching a movie and u recognize one of the actors in it from somewhere but u haven’t watched any of the movies or shows listed on their imdb

my little brother came into my room last night to tell me that he was gonna sew a stack of my mom’s saltine crackers together through the little holes and then left again

i ended up distracting my parents so he could put the crackers back in the little sleeve like hed only taken one from the top. i dont know if anybodys found them yet but i talked to him about it later and it turns out that theyre sewn together TIGHTLY. like. the ENTIRE stack through ALL the holes

it has been three days and my mom has still not discovered the sewed together cracker stack in the box in the cupboard
