The NCverse is a semirealism pokemon AU centering around the gray area of sapient pokemon personhood, the identity angst of being a clone, and the consequences of psychic powers. In this world, the nebulously corporatocratic government of the League has reshaped the world over a little more than a century, after thousands of years of escalating chaos and conflict. Old wounds from history not yet erased, and debates over what counts as a ‘person’ still shine under the gauzy veneer of training culture and esteemed regional championships. But as humanity progresses at a crawl, pokemon rapidly change to fit the environment it's created - for better or worse.
