NANAMI’s habitual kisses on your forehead is just as gentle as his love. it’s something he has always done—a muscle memory every time he sees you that you can’t help but associate it with home. it’s how he greets you in the morning: no shirt, just a pair of old sweatpants and an unkempt hair plus a warm smile you could feel on your temple. you could be washing the dishes, rereading your favorite book or taking a nap on the couch, you could always expect feeling nanami’s simple kisses. and it’s how he says goodbye too. his forehead kiss would be the last thing you’ll feel before he leaves the house he never knows if he’d return to given his job, so that’s why he makes sure it’s the one that lasts the longest.

12:17 — few years later | 🛬❤️‍🩹🎇 iwaizumi h.

“you’ll be there, right? right? right?!

if it’s anotamically possible to cut your ear off without passing out because of oikawa’s incessant nagging, you would’ve done it the first few seconds he begged you to accept kuroo’s reunion dinner invite before the all-star game. you were seijoh’s babysitter manager after all so, according to kuroo, it’s just right you’re there, in which you only replied with a i’ll think about it.

“haji’s gonna be there.” oikawa says in his annoying singsong voice and you swear you could hear his smirk right through your phone.

you bite your lip as if oikawa could see you blushing and smiling through the call. after years of graduating from high school, you wouldn’t have thought just hearing his name will elicit the same effect on you.

“and?” you reply nonchalantly because you would rather crawl under the earth and bury yourself alive than let oikawa confirm your cutesy, little high school crush on iwaizumi never really went away.

oikawa being your best friend saw through your reply and snorted, “pft, if i know you’ve been looking at his instagram every night before you sleep just because you’re too much of a scaredy cat to hit him up. don’t act as if you don’t zoom in on his shirtless pi—“

“oh my god, fine! i’ll go to this freaking dinner so please for the love god shut the hell up! ” you exasperatedly sigh wanting to tolerate oikawa’s teasing no longer not because it’s untrue but because you felt like you were caught committing a crime. it’s a curse and a gift you have a best friend that knows everything about you.

you hear oikawa shriek through your phone in celebration and about being there at 6, so you mutter a good bye before he lays out a plan that involves dragging you wherever into the night.

as if on cue, your phone lights up with a notification from your old group chat when the call ended,

✉️ t. oikawa: see you all on saturday!!!! no backsies!!!!!! :p

you roll your eyes knowing he’s talking about you. you were about to hit send on a message something about being him still being an annoying ass when another bubble popped in your screen that made you rewrite everything you were about to say.

✉️ h. iwaizumi: im back too 🇯🇵 see you guys :)

✉️ you: i’ll be there ☺️

𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗸𝘆𝘂𝘂!! 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 & 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 “oh.” 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻t (pt. 2)

↬ you can find part 1 here ♡ i was supposed to use another song but i wanted to stick with the theme of the first part ^^ enjoy !

↬ hq characters (osamu, iwaizumi, kenma, daichi) x gn!reader

ꕤ you open the door to welcome osamu and the heavy grocery bags he cradles in his arms. without so much as saying hello, he automatically lets himself in kicking his shoes off in your apartment. with stuffy nose you ask him, “what’re you doing here at 10 in the morning? doesn’t your shop open at 9?” osamu chuckles, his warm smile spreading across his face. "it does, but i couldn't stay away any longer, you’re a mess who needs to eat." he jests. throughout the day, osamu stays by your side, bringing you comfort and joy with every gesture. he makes you soup, entertains you with funny videos thanks to his twin, and even brings over a stack of your favorite books to read together. it’s like he knows exactly what you need without you having to say a word. oh.

ꕤ “we better walk fast, ‘zumi. looks like it’s gonna pour anytime soon.” you mumble as you look up to the looming clouds and instinctively reach your hand out to feel any droplets. iwaizumi brings out his old, trusted, albeit rusty umbrella that you swear he had since god knows when. he sheepishly smiles, “can’t have you sick now, can we?” as you continue walking, you engage in light banter and reminisce about old times. the conversation flows effortlessly, just like it always does when you're together. "you remember that time we got caught in a torrential downpour during our first year of high school?" iwaizumi asks, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "how could i forget? good thing we found that cafe to hide in until the rain stopped.” you reply. "yeah, and then we spent hours talking and laughing we didn't notice they needed to close the shop." iwaizumi recalls fondly and adds, "that was the day i knew we'd be friends for a long time." he smiles warmly, his gaze softening as he looks at you. uh oh.

ꕤ “ah, am i hearing this right? the kodzuken challenging me to beat him in a video game?!” you jokingly gasp at your longtime friend, kenma, who only rolled his eyes at your mockery. “stop acting weird, this won’t be the first time i beat you,” he smirks. you grin, accepting the challenge with a competitive glint in your eye. the game began and you both immersed yourselves in the virtual world. as the match progressed, you notice kenma's occasional slip-ups, as if he was letting you win. "are you sure you're not going easy on me?" you tease. he blushes slightly, trying to hide his intentions. "you wish. you just had practice," he replies, his eyes betraying a hint of affection. after a thrilling game, you emerged victorious. "looks like you owe me that boba," you retort playfully, savoring the taste of triumph. in that moment, kenma smiles, realizing that he felt more of a winner in making you smile than winning a video game. oh no.

ꕤ holidays are better spent with people. the more the merrier, at least that’s what daichi’s household believes in. and his big family isn’t enough, daichi always celebrates with his close friends—including you. amidst the ongoing debate which is the best christmas dessert, he turns to you, "i’m so glad you could make it today. my family loves having you around during celebrations." you smile warmly, "i wouldn't miss it for the world, dai. your family and our friends always make these holidays unforgettable." as the holiday cheer enveloped the room, daichi's eyes were fixed on you as you engage with his younger siblings. you had picked out thoughtful gifts for each of them, and he watches with a mix of fondness and admiration as they unwrapped your presents, their faces lighting up with joy and gratitude. he could get used to this. oh?

[ mikage reo ]

you sat across from the famous football player, staring at him blankly as he slurped the last few drop of his iced coffee obnoxiously, staring back at you almost as if he was trying to annoy you. after finally being done and letting out a loud annoying sigh, he blinked. “hi.”

you shut your eyes for a brief second, taking in a deep breath while trying not to come up with at least fifty ways to murder him as you attempted to fully register the situation. “nagi, it’s three in the morning.”

“mhm.”

“i haven’t spoken to you in years. why are you here?”

“i had a fight with reo.” he said bluntly, moving the straw around his cup. the ice moved inside loudly, only testing your patience further. he seemed as if he was done talking, but the sharp look you gave him made him pout and before he continued, finally stopping the noise. “we live together, i couldn’t stay with him.”

“and you decided that instead of staying with any of your friends, isagi, chigiri, barou, bachira— you decided to pack, somehow track me down and come over without notice?”

“i couldn’t stay at any of their homes,” he rolled his eyes as if you were the idiot. “let me explain this, [y/n]. when a kid has divorced parents and he fights with one of them, he goes to stay with the other.”

you needed a cigarette and you didn’t even fucking smoke.

“…did you just say that mikage and i are your divorced parents?” you asked, bewildered. he nodded casually, leaning his palm on one hand as he stared at you. you leaned back, massaging your temples in pure frustration. “are all football players this insane?”

“probably.” he shrugged. “i also forgot my phone and wallet, so you will have to pay for me until i decide to go back. oh, speaking off, can we order takeout? i’m really hungry.”

“nagi.”

“…yes?”

“get the fuck to bed.”

his eyes seemed to fill up with amusement despite the dramatic sigh he let out as he got up, staring at you expectantly. you gestured to the room at the end of the hallway and he nodded, poking his tongue out before he walked away.

you passed out at the kitchen table that day, wondering what the fuck to do with the man child in your guest room, and woke up the next morning by someone poking your cheek. “[y/n]. [y/n]. [y/n]. [y/n]. [y/—“

“say my name one more time and i am disowning you,” you muttered blankly, voice thick with sleep as you buried your face deeper into your arms. you heard him snort, but you ignored it, sighing. “what?”

“i ordered takeout because i can’t make breakfast and i didn’t want you to kill me if i woke you up to cook. where’s your wallet?”

you pushed yourself up with a light groan, looking around until your eyes fell on the backpack you usually took to your college. you gestured there vaguely and he immediately dragged himself towards it, pulling it open harshly before he grabbed your wallet, frowning. “this is an ugly wallet.”

“die.”

“you’re a very bad parent.” he hummed. you narrowed your eyes at him as he pulled the door open and paid, accepting two pizza boxes before he mumbled a ‘thank you’ and shut the door quietly, looking towards you after. “wanna join for breakfast?”

you sighed, pushing your aching body up. “why not?”

after you two silently ate while he intensely watched a full two-hour youtube video about all possible theories behind his favorite game, you finally turned to him. “i have three questions.”

he blinked. “only three? you’re a changed person. what are they?”

you rolled his eyes. “one, when are you planning to return?”

“you could at least pretend you’re happy to see your ex-boyfriend’s best friend after years.” he muttered, sulking, before sighing. “friday night, we have a match saturday morning.”

you nodded slowly, then paused. “how are you planning to piss mikage off if he doesn’t even know where you are?”

he blinked. “oh, i didn’t think about that. give me your phone, i’ll send him a photo of us together.”

“i don’t have his number.” you informed blankly. he raised his eyebrows, and you raised one in response. “what?”

“he still have your number saved in his favorites with, like, a million heart emojis. you’re cruel.” he muttered monotonously, snatching your phone either way. you watched closely as he opened instagram and logged into his private account before he leaned into you, poking his tongue out as he snapped a picture. you poked your tongue out as well just to humor him, both your faces blank, and you snorted when you saw his caption.

like parent like son.

“last question.” you hummed. he groaned loudly, and you raised an eyebrow. “just one and i’ll let you stay over without complaining for the next few days.”

“shoot.”

“what was the fight about?”

he paused for a second, two, three, then, “i don’t want to talk about it.”

you stared at him for a few seconds, then sighed, glancing at your watch. “okay. i have to get ready for college, so make yourself at home, i guess.”

he seemed surprised that you let go of it, but you didn’t overthink it, getting up and going to your room. god, you needed a hot, long shower. after getting everything ready and so, you walked back out into the living room, where nagi was watching another game analysis video on your TV. yet, he seemed to be sulking a little more, and you sighed at your own words in advance.

“hey, nagi, wanna sneak into my college and attend classes with me?”

“sounds like a hassle.” he deadpanned, glancing up. you hummed, turning around, before a thud echoed as he rolled off the couch, followed by a groan. “hold on, i’m in.”

you snorted.

before you realized, it was friday morning, and as much as you hated to admit, you were going to miss nagi. you two had gotten close when you were dating reo and tended to pull a lot of all nighters together playing nagi’s favorite games, which got you really close. however, after the breakup, reo had really pulled back and cut off all contact, which you guessed had included nagi as well when the taller player stopped talking to you.

“morning,” nagi yawned tiredly as he walked into the kitchen, where you sat on your phone, greeting him with a hum. “oh, did you pack your bags already?”

you blinked, pausing, before you looked up. “what?”

he blinked back. “did i forgot to tell you? you’re coming with me.”

what?” you hissed, eyes wide. “what do you— i’m not going with you.”

“i already have your ticket, don’t let me get a refund!” he whined, slumping across of you. “i got it when i booked mine.”

“and you are just telling me now?”

“i forgot.” he deadpanned. “now go pack.”

“i have college.”

“you told me you have a week-long break. go pack.”

“i’m not staying with you.”

“i’ll book a suite for you in the most expensive hotel, just please go pack!”

“…i fucking hate you.” you muttered, pushing yourself up before placing a plate in front of him. he took a huge bite as you walked away, and you could hear him hum at the taste before talking.

“love you too!” he yelled back.

that night, after you two got on the plane, he decided to inform you that he had also got you a vip ticket for the game the next day, and he was so lucky you couldn’t murder him with that much witnesses around.

you had the same feeling as you watched the players walk into the field on saturday night, sipping on your drink while waiting trying to calm your nerves. it had been years since you saw reo, and you were definitely not ready to see him again. you would be lying if you said you didn’t put effort into your appearance for the night, but who wouldn’t?

before you could completely prepare yourself, your eyes fell on an annoyingly familiar mop of purple hair, angrily whispering something to nagi. nagi gave him one of his famous blank looks before he turned around and met your eyes, and you immediately glared at him.

‘do not!’ you mouthed clearly, well aware that he could see it, and his lips only twitched up before he nonchalantly pointed in your direction, and you glared at him.

that fucking traitor.

reo turned around in an alarming speed, eyes wide as he did so, searching the crowd almost desperately before his eyes fell on you. you had managed to compose yourself enough to go back to looking bored, offering him a lazy wave when your eyes met, and he only turned back quickly towards nagi, waving around vaguely as he said something that caused his team members to all look at him, eyes wide.

chigiri asked something and nagi pointed back at you, and you swore you could cut his damn finger off if you could as almost the entire team turned to you in sync, eyes wide, and you offered a peace sign this time, face blank as you poked your tongue out.

the only one who saw the humor in this was nagi, who snorted and immediately got smacked by reo, who was sharply avoiding looking in your direction. they all offered bewildered waves and you turned back to sipping on your drink, waiting for the stupid match to end so you can get back to your hotel.

they won, fucking of course, and you immediately slipped out, shooting nagi a text once you made it back to the hotel congratulating him. you got a simple ‘:x’ back and snorted, decided to take a relaxing bath before going to grab a coffee for yourself.

and so, hours later, you were finally ready, dressed nicely and humming quietly as you grabbed your phone and wallet, pausing once a familiar voice echoed in the hallway. you walked towards the door, quietly pressing your ear against it, and heard someone suck in a sharp breath. “you can do it, you can do it. this will go okay, you can totally fucking do this, you can—“

you shut your eyes and breathed in deeply as an attempt to calm yourself down before opening the door, eyes immediately meeting widening purple ones as reo stilled. it was silent for a few seconds until reo took a step back, forcing on a practiced smile that you easily knew was fake.

“hi,” he spoke, voice smoother than you had remembered, and held a bouquet of white roses. you arched an eyebrow, face still blank as you accepted it, and he laughed awkwardly, shifting on his feet. “apology on nagi’s behalf.”

“it’s okay.” you responded calmly, carefully setting them aside. “couldn’t leave my child, after all.”

he cracked an awkward smile, but remained silent until you glanced back at him, and he gestured to your outfit. “going, uh, somewhere?”

“coffee.” you replied bluntly, and then internally grimaced, sighing before you spoke again, already regretting your words. “…would you like to tag along?”

“yes.” he agreed eagerly, then paused, skin tinting just the slightest. “i mean, uh, if you would like me to. i don’t mean i don’t want to, i do, but only if you—“

you would be a huge liar if you deny how you enjoyed being one of the very few people who can get reo to break his collected, charming rich boy filter. “reo?”

he immediately shut up, blinking, and you couldn’t help but think about how he resembled a lost puppy. “yeah?”

“let’s go.”

(you, later that night, shot nagi a reluctant ‘thank you’ text, one he responded with a ‘:p’ in reply for before casually informing you that there was no argument, just a small disagreement about reo being too much of a cowards to reach out and that he was just bored. you unsent your ‘thank you’, and he sent a ‘bad parenting :c’ back.)

[ tsukishima kei ]

you always thought you were too much.

you genuinely believed it required too much energy to love you, really. in fact, you believed it was almost impossible for some to love you happily, that no one could love you and not be mad about it. you knew it was.

so, when kei, the absolute love of your life told you that he was breaking up with you, you didn’t ask for an explanation. you didn’t scream, as much as you wanted to, and you didn’t cry and beg him to stay no matter how much your heart pleaded you to, because you thought it would be selfish to ask him to continue loving you when you could barely love yourself.

why would you bother for an explanation, too? your brain already covered all the possible reasons the second he gently informed you that he couldn’t do this anymore.

clingy. annoying. unlovable. insufferable. unstable.

you could only breathe out a low ‘i understand.’ before you were up on your feet, silently gathering all your belongings from his apartment.

you didn’t cry. not when you were there, not when you were on your way back, and not when you got home, and not even a week later as you slumped on a random seat on the university bus, eyes staring blankly outside the window as everyone piled inside.

it would have been stupid of you too. after all, you knew the break up was inevitable.

your thoughts had swallowed you too much to realize that a familiar blond was the one who took the seat beside you, and you only realized so when the bus started moving, snapping out of your bubble once your brain started registering the smell of his cologne, and you stilled.

he didn’t even take the bus. why was he here?

you didn’t dare ask him. instead, you swallowed harshly, shifting your gaze to the window, and ignored the quiet sigh he let out. this was one of the rare times you hated your university being so far, because getting stuck beside him for a full hour when you haven’t seen him in a week was dreadful.

if you weren’t so exhausted, you would have hopped off the first stop and figured your way out home.

after what felt like forever and was actually exactly 58 minutes, which you frustratingly counted down, it was finally your stop, and you immediately got up, waiting for him to move and let you out since his place was a few stops away.

what you didn’t except, yet made your stomach drop, was the way he got up as well, hands shoved into the pockets of his pants as he walked off the bus with you hesitantly behind.

maybe he was visiting someone else, you insisted, maybe he was—

all your thoughts got cut off by a warm hand grabbing yours the second you stepped off the bus, almost causing you to gasp. yet, you stayed silent, your throat tightening up by the second as you allowed him to drag you off.

you recognized your favorite café immediately as it came into view, and so did he, his face still deadly serious as he pulled you inside. it was silent as you both walked in, and the pit in your stomach grew as he pulled you in line, still tightly holding your hand in his.

if you weren’t so… unfocused, you may have pulled out, but the warmth of his hand distracted you, reminding you how it felt to be wanted even if it was just currently temporarily.

how pathetic of you, really.

you ignored the sadistic voice that muttered so in your head, feeling like a rag doll. your surroundings seemed hazy as he ordered both of your drinks and payed, but you somehow didn’t miss the concerned glance he threw you, and god did you wish you did.

it was silent for a few more minutes, both of you waiting aside for your drinks, his hand still holding yours so desperately. despite being barely warm, it suddenly started feeling like it was boiling hot, and you finally gained enough strength to pull your hands out, clearing your throat timidly as you shifted your gaze off him.

(you missed the frown that took over his lips, the furrow of his eyebrows and the way his eyes visibly saddened for a few seconds.)

both your names were called out shortly after, and you silently grabbed your drink, allowing him to lead you to an empty table. now that you thought about it, you definitely shouldn’t have let him get you to this point, but you were always so weak for him.

as soon as you both sat down, you lifted your gaze up, your eyes meeting his, and for the first time, you saw how tired he looked. messy hair, eye bags, your initial still hanging off a barely adjusted gold chain from his neck and a hoodie that he was drowning in, one you had bought him.

you pushed the urge of hugging him aside to finally talk.

“what do you want, tsukishima?”

“it’s kei,” he immediately pleaded, face still serious yet voice uncharacteristically desperate as he leaned over, eyes softening. “please.”

you only stared at him, and he sighed, leaning back in his seat, head dropping in… was it shame?

“i’m sorry.”

you blinked once, then twice, then furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. “what? if it’s about the break up, it’s genuinely fine, i really—“

“i’m sorry i made it seem like you’re not worth staying for.” he cut you off, and you stilled. “i’m sorry i chose the easy way out and never explained that the reason we broke up was because i didn’t think i loved you as much as you deserve to be loved.”

“wh—what?”

“i know you think you’re unlovable, that you’re the biggest burden, that you’re high maintenance, that loving you could never be easy but god loving you was the easiest thing i could ever do, and i’m so unbelievably sorry that i never made that clear enough.”

you stared at him, eyes wide yet silent, because what could you even say?

“you say you’re unlovable, yet i am so desperately, pathetically in love with you. i love you and i love all your flaws. i love everything you hate about yourself, and i plan to continue loving every bit of you forever.”

“tsukishima—“

“please let me continue.” he pleaded, begged. you chewed on your lips for a few seconds before giving him a nod, and he immediately continued. “i love you. i love you so much that it’s driving me crazy. you never leave my mind and i desperately wish to have you by my side every second of every fucking day. no matter how long i have known you and will know you for, you always having me flustered like a stupid teenager in love just by the thought of you and god, i never even thought feeling like this could be possible.”

he suddenly reached over, his hand grabbing yours. “i have never been the best with words, we both know it, but i promise you, if you give me another chance, i promise to make you realize one day how lovable you are.”

“…am i worth the effort?” you whispered, voice shaky and eyes blurry, and his hold only tightened around your hand, face twisting as if your words had physically hurt him.

“always,” he whispered, his free hand gently wiping tears you hadn’t realized have already started streaming down your face. “always and forever, my love. so, may you please give me another chance to love you as truly as i should have?”

“…always, kei.” you finally breathed out, feeling as if oxygen had just met your lungs for the first time since forever. yet, you barely got the chance to see the relief on his face before he leaned over, desperately pressing his lips against yours, and god did you miss the warmth.

and to his credit, he kept his promise.

“We should consider marriage.”

You blink.

Nanami’s knife never loses its rhythm.

You put down your pen and cushion your chin on one hand, eyeing him. He’s unbothered. He keeps prepping the ingredients for dinner, his forearms flexing with each pass of the knife. The tight ridge of his broad shoulders always loosens in the kitchen.

“For us or for someone else, Kento?” you ask, biting back your little smile.

He levels an unimpressed look your way. “For us.”

“It took me a year to convince you to date me,” you say. “You can’t blame me for checking.”

(I don’t want you to get hurt, he says on a humid summer day. He gazes out into the campus courtyard, eyes hidden beneath the gleam of his sunglasses.

You suck the watermelon juice off your sticky fingers. I’m aware, you say, nonchalant. But sometimes being hurt just means you’ve lived well.

He looks at you differently, after that.)

Nanami hums; the oil sizzles as he adds the vegetables to the pan. The steam wisps around him. There’s the smallest upward tilt to his lips, and his dark eyes make you think of warm summer nights, heavy and honeyed.

He sets a lid over the pan, rinses his hands, and pads over to you. You open your legs to let him press between. He lays a heavy hand on your thigh, his thumb slipping under the hem of your shorts.

“So,” you say, “We’re considering, huh?”

“Yes,” he says. “I’d like to know that when something happens to me, you’ll be taken care of. Being legally married helps ensure that.”

You wind your arms around his neck, pull him further into the cradle of your hips.

“Oh, is that all?”

“Yes,” he says, deadpan. He tugs you closer still. “That’s the only reason.”

You laugh and hook your legs around his hips. “You realize that with you, this is basically an actual proposal, Kento.”

Nanami leans down, catches you in a deep, aching kiss.

“Basically.”

please stop scrolling for a moment and read.

this happened on wednesday in occupied jerusalem, supposedly the "only democracy in middle east."

israeli police raided the anti-zionist jewish neighborhood, to attack any symbol of jewish solidarity with Palestine, took down the Palestinian flag, brutally assaulted anti-zionist jews by knocking them down on the road, hitting them, and punching them in the face.

zionism is a violent and fascist ideology that doesn't even spare the very people it is supposed to protect. anyone who disagrees with its racist mandate, even jews, are targeted by the entity that falsely claims to represent jewish people.

if they can do this to their own, can you even bear to imagine how they have treated, and continue to treat, Palestinians? except you don't really have to - idf soldiers have, on multiple occasions, documented their own war crimes and violations of the very nature of being human. they have gloated over their own capacity to commit undeniable evil too many times on camera.

does amy schumer care about these people standing up against genocide and getting persecuted for doing so? what does noah schnapp have to say?

what do well-off white jews in the west who record tiktoks with a face full of makeup, impeccably manicured nails, curated fits and ring lights, who have monopolized claims to antisemitism and grief and victimhood while black and other non-white jewish people have been rendered almost entirely invisible from public memory, have to say about this?

israel was never about judaism.
