yup, i'm bbc and i speak cantonese and a little bit of mandarin!! tbh, my vocab in both cantonese and mandarin is pretty limited (especially now that i've moved out of home bc i rarely speak cantonese anymore) but i can understand both languages more than i can speak it.

i've always loved writing so it feels like a v natural career path for me!! i think the thing i enjoy the most about it is that it hopefully helps someone out there?? like if i can help one person better understand a topic by writing about it in a simple way, then all the back and forth and amends feel worthwhile hehe ^^
on the flip side, i think the thing i find the most challenging is stakeholder management. i've never been particularly good at saying "no" or pushing back on people lol, and having to rationalise my decisions for why i amended some copy, or why i cut some copy/design features is quite difficult for me bc i'm ironically not v good with my words when it comes to explaining myself verbally. it's something i'll hopefully get better at as i progress in my career, so hopefully it gets easier with time!!

โข pophams in london fields and islington. they do weekend specials with seasonal ingredients and theyโre always delicious!!
โข buns from home - my faves are the tiramisu, cinnamon and cardamom buns
โข toad bakery in peckham - delishhhh pastries and the staff are super sweet
โข dusty knuckle bakery in dalston - theeeeee best sandwiches ever. trust me.
โข prufrock coffee in farringdon - lovely staff, incredibly cute logo and great sourdough banana bread
