days of productivity [60/100]

I’m not that statisfied with how my exam went today, but I’ll see the result in a few weeks. After school i was just exhausted and took a short nap before reading a little. Later I did some homework and studied for my exams next week before watching some Netflix and reading again. I’m going to go to bed now and get up early tomorrow

ya know what I want to see more of in the study/bujo community

I want to see more dark photos.

I want to see more photos with diverse, colourful, and interesting backgrounds.

I want to see more notes written in ballpoint

I want to see more of the rushed bujo pages made because you didn’t have time to do it but didn’t want to have that week missing from your journal

I want to see more in-class notes, the notes you took before you re-wrote them to make them “post worthy”

I want to see more messy desks. The aftermatch of journaling and studying

I want to see more wooden desks, more desks that aren’t white, more desks covered in coffee rings and paint splats

I want to see more on the fly photos

And I’m not writing this because I want to support “small accounts” or “poor study accounts” I want to see it because I’m sick of every single post looking the same as the one I saw last. I’m tired of accounts with amazing content not getting the growth they deserve because their photos aren’t overexposed on white desks. I want to see it because it stands out, it’s different, and I like it.

So many accounts quit before they even get started because of the precedent that you have to have expensive stationery and stark white photos to grow and make an impact. Because they don’t feel they can live up to the expectations of the community. And that makes me really sad.

listen i’m not one for believing in the universe giving signs but… the first full moon of the year being on the first day of the year which is also a monday… sounds like a good opportunity to focus on rebirth, new beginnings, and personal growth and improvement

how to avoid education burnout

  • have 3 achievable goals a day: having a laundry list of things to do everyday is super unrealistic, and you just end up feeling bad about yourself because you didn’t accomplish your goals for the day.
  • leave your sundays open: i love sundays because they’re my day to chill out and catch up on school work that i wasn’t able to finish during the week.
  • recognize when you’re at your emotional limits: forcing yourself to get work done when you are unable to comprehend your study material does not benefit anyone.
  • learn how to say no: people will ask you for your time and it will stretch you to the limit, whether it be at your job, in your extracurriculars, or in your personal life. know when to step back and say no.
  • take care of yourself physically: take breaks, go for walks, shower regularly, get enough sleep, eat healthy, see your friends
  • celebrate your accomplishments: go out to eat with friends after a big exam, indulge in a night off after a busy week with some netflix and wine
  • make a study plan beforehand: it can be daunting to see how much work you need to put in to a class or task beforehand, but this allows you to spread your work evenly so you don’t become overwhelmed.
  • learn how to ask for help: it is very rare that people make it through school, whether it be high school or university or any graduate program, without needing the advice of others or just a kind soul to vent to. find that person.
  • never forget your hobbies: you will need things that keep you sane. if you love to play music, write, play volleyball, or cook, make you sure you don’t lose these things. they will become your escape when times get tough.
  • log off from time to time: it is exhausting to be constantly connected to social media and your email. just physically disconnecting from these for a night to take care of yourself can really help you clear your mind.

and you know what, shout out to people who don’t have any good friends irl either. i know it seems lonely right now but it won’t be forever there is a friend out there for you! i believe in you!

U have no idea of how much I needed this.

tag urself as a student

i.d.g.a.f:  goes to school unbothered, doesn’t give a shit about makeup or looking nice, constantly has a water bottle filled, when they’re not taking notes they’re sleeping in class, goes home and actually studies/does homework, bottles up emotions, wants to travel

covfefe: lives their life on coffee and tea, always participates in class discussions, likes to observe, challenges themselves sometimes a little too much, needs more sleep, always trying to make plans to fill up their schedule, likes aesthetics

netflix & procrastinate: honestly wants to do well, gets distracted easily, when they’re focused they get shit done, pulls lots of all nighters, tells everyone ‘im fine’ when not fine, accidentally skips breakfast, loves their friends, gets anxiety over tests and quizzes

pastel: is always organized, loves to journal, actually listens to the teacher, people think they’re always super sweet, wants to visit japan, loves animals, does research for fun, looks over work 948208 times before turning it in, watches horror movies and then regrets it

complaint department: acts like they didn’t have enough time to do homework (they did), blames others for their problems, doesn’t study then cry when they get a bad grade, secretly is very insecure, is always out “sick”, acts better than others for no reason sometimes

chilly child: is very relaxed but knows how to work, is nice to their teachers, tries to avoid half-assing things, loves autumn, likes studying with other people, is very self motivating, tries not to focus on the letter grade but rather how hard they worked, and tbh they’re just tryna enjoy life,

bujo help

i’m torn between starting a new bullet journal for 2018 or finishing my current one??

right now i have about 90 pages left in my leuchtturm, which i’ve used for 7 months (june-december). my goal was to make it last until may but i kind of want to start over and keep all of 2018 in one book? the idea of wasting all that paper doesn’t really appeal to me though

what do you guys think?

bad study habits to leave in 2017

cramming the night before. do a little every day and get a good night sleep before the test

procrastinating. promise yourself you’ll do 5 minutes of a task you’ve been putting off for a while. you’ll be surprised how quickly that 5 minutes turns into 10 and 10 into an hour and before you know it you’ll be done and able to enjoy guilt-free leisure time

not asking for help. make the most of your teachers and classmates who want you to succeed. don’t suffer in silence

saying yes to everything. it’s important to try new things but it’s also important to have enough spare time to see your friends and get enough sleep

being distracted. turn off the tv. turn off your phone. focus on studying so you can get your assignments done as efficiently as possible so you can enjoy your free time

not having a planner. this doesn’t have to be a beautiful bullet journal. just make sure you have a way of keeping on top of everything you have to do so you don’t get overwhelmed whether that’s in a store-bought diary or in you phone’s calendar

eating (too much) junk. fuel your body and your mind with fruit and veg. if you’re at university try cooking in bulk to keep costs down. you’ll be able to concentrate better if you’re eating well

not taking breaks. your brain needs to take breaks, even if you have a big test coming up. for every hour you spend studying take a 10 minute break and stretch/make a snack/take a shower/call a friend

not rewarding yourself. take time to be proud of everything you’ve achieved so far. enjoy the success you’ve worked so hard for

[10.29.17] 47/100 days of productivity

This is one of my favorite bullet journal spreads I’ve done so far! It’s lovely to have such a detailed record of my life.

I’m not always “productive” (as you can see, I didn’t complete a single one of my tasks yesterday), but that’s okay! Rest days are so important for physical and mental health!
