💥= Are there any emotions your OC doesen't know how to deal with,doesen't understand or hates having to feel? Any reason behind this?
Sorrow: She is sometimes a kinda emotional person, she has no problem crying in front of others about a movie or little things and makes even fun of herself for being a little Cry Baby sometimes. But as soon as someone close to her has died or something else is tragic and others are also mourning, she tries to distance herself and does not want anyone to see how much she suffers or that she cries. Some then think she is numb and cold hearted but that is not true.
Because: On the second Christmas day,as Dana was a little younger than now,her mother told her while being a little drunk and crying und hugging Dana that her cancer might be back and that Dana shouldn't tell her father about it.
For the first time in her life, Dana had to be Strong for someone and this person was her mother who was supposed to be strong for her. She tried to cheer her mother up even though she was totally overwhelmed. Dana started crying a little and it made her mother cry a even more. Dana knew that her father could help her mother better in this situation since he had done this before as her Mother had the first time cancer, but her mother had forbidden her to talk to her father about it.
This gave Dana a crack and since then she has tried to keep herself from such emotional situations. She feels totally useless and helpless and overwhelmed. She is also afraid that if she cries then that she would make things worse. Therefore she turns away from the crying people and tries desperately to hold back her tears. She couldn't even cry at her grandma's funeral.
helplessness: Since she went blind, everyone has always told her what she can't and wanted to do everything for her, At 7 she realized that she can do everything that others can if she only believes in herself. Whenever she reaches her limits and cannot do what she wants and then needs help from others, it is very upsetting for her. At the beginning she stubbornly defends herself against any kind of help, but if she then realizes that she cannot do it otherwise, she feels useless and a burden for everyone.
Because: Her big brother feels guilty for her going blind, he has given up everything for her just like her parents and always looked after her, her family got into financial difficulties as they were desperately looking for a cure for her blindness. But since her family is quite famous their couldn’t let their difficulties show. She couldn't take this anymore, she saw herself as a burden to her family.
lonliness: Marie hates being alone, it scares her, if she is alone for too long she becomes a panic attack
Because: When she was little, her mother had to leave her alone a lot because she worked in the village and her house was in the woods. When her father was supposed to take care of her he always locked her in the room with the stuffed animals and those he wanted to work on next. Her father was a sadistic hunter and he didn't really care about his daughter and she was just in the way of him. He loved to torture her by locking her into this room since she was a toddler and leaving her there alone,after beating her up just for fun and without a word. When her mother found out about it, she killed her husband.
But it already had left a crack in Marie, so she is always afraid when she is alone and has the feeling of being punished. She doesn't like to admit it and always tries to appear in a good mood and positive to everyone, even if she just had a panick attack and has totally red eyes from crying, she tries to always seem happy in front of everyone and always smiles. Her mother taught her that she should always appear happy to others, because then the others would be happy, and so would she too. Because she is afraid of being alone, she is kind of clingy, which many find very annoying.
Cluelessness: Maria usually knows a solution to everything and how she can help herself and others. but when she doesn't know what to do next, her otherwise cheerful and carefree personality changes and she becomes either very depressed and kind of agressiv and self defensive or very nervous, insecure, desperate and panicked.
Because: Her father was a very strict,smart,brutal and cunning man before he died. If she didn't have the answers to his questions, she was punished. She had to find solutions since she was a Child how to keep her father from punishing her or her mother. And later how to stop her husband from harming her or her daughter. Maria's Grandmother had taught her that there is always a solution to everything and because of that she should never be sad or unhappy.
Not being good enough/Jealousy: Midori is actually a very confident person, and is good at almost everything. She is very ambitious and always tries to be the best at everything and to prove herself. But when someone is better than her, especially in something she likes to do, she first becomes cold and talks as if she doesn't care, but makes the person psychologically hurt by listing everything the person is bad about or there Problems. And she sees everything a Person is bad about or there emotional problems. But once she is alone she feels terrible about it and cries because she thinks she is a bad person just like her biological parents and because she is generally totally worthless.
Because: She was kiddnapped as a baby by one of the Sakamaki maids/Nannys. This Woman became her adoptive Mother. Her Stepmother used to tell her that her birth mother (Cordelia) had never loved any of her children and that none was good enough for her (What is not true,Midori was the only Child that Cordelia really loved). In addition, Midori was created through an affair which is why she was born in secret, no one knows about her (well, Karlheinz knows about her, but that happends after her birth). Her birth mother wouldn’t and couldn’t take care of her. Also her Stepmother had an illegitimate child from Karlheinz when she was still working for the Sakamakis, he knews about his daughter Mona. Midori's stepsister/Cousin got a lot more attention and gifts than she did.
Nevertheless, Midori loves her family more than anything and try to bury these feelings about not being good enough and the jealously in her, but if someone is better as her in something she likes, a really Bad side of Midori comes out. She tried harder than others to get attention and be recognized. Even if she sometimes seems a bit rebelious and Stubborn and as if she don't care. Since her stepmother had also become a teacher, this was not so easy for Midori. Her Stepmother loves Midori with her whole heart like a biological Daughter, and Midori knows this, but Mona still gets always more and different attantion than Midori. And Karlheinz treats her either like air when he is there or like garbage especially when Mona is there. He seems to despise Midori but at the same time as if he absolutely don't care about her.
