not to sound dramatic but the scholastic book fair in elementary school is the most pure and genuinely happy place i’ve ever experienced in my life

there’s a decent amt of neurologists who’ve called the sleep schedules we’re obligated to be on despite flagrant conflict with our natural circadian rhythms “borderline torture” and the work hours we’re expected to put in despite the fact that the average person can only maintain maximal efficiency and focus for 3 hours at a time “nearly inhumane” and i think about that a lot

your bare minimum isn’t actually that bare or minimum. my dad once told me that there’s nothing in this world that’s easy and that’s true tbh. everything we do takes energy, time, and effort. even the little things. if you feel like you’re not doing enough please try to think about your circumstances and what’s currently available to you: chances are, there’s something that’s diverting or otherwise draining you. and to pull away from that and get something done regardless? well, i think that’s really admirable! please try to take pride in the things you do accomplish in a day, no matter how small or trifling you perceive them to be. you can’t be proud of your growth if you don’t notice where you already are!

honestly the best way to consume any media is just to ignore like……80% of what actually happens and just pretend that the things you want to happen happen for real. like nothing in life is ever gonna be as fun and satisfactory as it is in your head and everyone in the world has a huge incredibly personal unique creative capacity and imagination and ideas and i think we should all embrace that and just imagine whatever like it makes everything so much more fun
