My personal conspiracy theory on why Ultra Sun and Moon made Lusamine a worse character is due to Nintendo and/or the Pokemon Company insisting on Brand Consistency. You see, due to production lead in time we know the character designs for the Pokemon anime are made well before the games come out. The starter designs for Gen VII were leaked due to anime production art being leaked after all. My theory is that when the anime writers were given the designs and concepts for Lillie, Lusamine, and Gladion the entire concept wasn't there. Perhaps at most it noted some stress between the family. So the anime writers went with the anime version of the character being a loving mother with a distant relationship to her children due to being busy at work. Meanwhile the game's storyline had her be a fairly awful abusive parent and the main antagonist.
We can't have the kids be confused why the funny mom in the cartoon is mean, after all. So when USUM was being made the demand was put down to retcon away as much as Lusamine being bad as possible.
alienqiqii on twt drew a very funny what if where Akane gets Mirror Clone'd instead of Ranma and I asked if I could draw my take on the concept- it was too good a chance to let it pass by
Writing an eighty hour action-RPG-with-life-sim-elements where what's actually going on is only explained on the bad ending route. Every action that's required to set a good ending flag also causes a critical bit of expository dialogue to never happen. You did the good ending first? Fuck you.
I swear I've seen a game that basically does this where the bad ending explains major parts of the game's plot.
A problem I find with a lot of Ranma/Shan Pu ship art is that it just depicts Ranma and Shan Pu's dynamic in canon.
Shan Pu latching on to Ranma with Ranma looking nervous is like, how it shows Ranma isn't into Shan Pu. Her advances make him uncomfortable and frankly Ranma is scared of her. If you're trying to make a drawing showing them as an actual couple I don't get why you're showing one half of the couple clearly not wanting to be there.
In the Pokémon universe there are people who refuse to believe Clefairy is a fairy type. You can show them all the evidence in the world and all the research papers proving it was incorrectly labeled a normal type prior to the discovery of the fairy type, but they won’t believe you. They will send out their clefairy into an incoming poison type move, watch it deal double damage, and still say it’s not super effective because when they were in pokéschool they learned that Clefairy is a normal type pokemon
You can only reblog this today.
I missed my chance last year. Not gonna let it happen again
it's so funny to see people complaining about ffxiv having a "content drought" as though the patch cadence and the specific contents of the patches hasn't been unchanged for literally a decade
like I'm sorry you just got into the game a year ago and burned through ten years of content in that time but this is very much a you problem. "it's crazy how little there is to do every patch" boss they have been doing 1-2 dungeons, a trial, a raid, and some minor side content every 3-4 months for literally ten actual years. nothing has changed about that literally at all.
it's so dependable that people can chart out the patch dates with near perfect accuracy for an entire two year patch cycle
name one other major mmo that releases this much content this regularly
No nuance the normal option is only one and i want statistics to prove to my parents that something is deeply wrong with them
If I leave my door closed Maya, my precious baby dog will decide to wake me up at 3 am by howling and scratching the door because she needs to sleep on my bed.
Man, this Grail War is fucked up. I see Genghis Khan fighting Sun Wukong while Judas Iscariot bombards the area trying to kill either or both. I think I just heard someone yell “Large Hadron Collider!” and localize a black hole which then, even more terrifyingly, was easily countered somehow, meanwhile, all I summoned was the Hypothetical Racist White Baby With A Terminal Illness That Wants To Say The N Word As His Last Request. I gotta get the fuck out of here.
Now what's the reason you're compatible enough to end up summoninh 'Hypothetical Racist White Baby With A Terminal Illness That Wants To Say The N Word As His Last Request' hmmm?
I am partial to the Caster class, so I wanted to summon a grand wizard of some sort, but the monkey’s paw curled into a fist.

Ranma has some strange ideas about things.

Tabletop game design tip: always write a glossary for your game, even if you have no intention of including one in the finished product. If there are any bits of mechanical jargon for which you're struggling to write a clear and concise definition, chances are the text itself is fuzzy on what it actually means when it says them!
(And don't intimidate yourself into thinking you can't do better than average in this respect. In Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, the word "attack" has about five distinct definitions. Depending on context, the phrases "melee weapon attack" and "attack with a melee weapon" may mean completely different things. The bar is on the fucking floor, is what I mean to say.)
It's funny how in 4e "melee weapon attack" and "attack with a melee weapon" can also mean different things but it's due to there being solid keyword system rather than the designers punishing you for playing a non-caster.
In 4e there are two types of gear that characters use to make attacks. Weapons and implements. Attacks that use weapons have the Weapon keyword and attacks that use implements have Implement keyword..
The thing is that there is equipment that is considered both a weapon and an implement. Daggers and Staves by default are considered both. There are also classes and feats that let you use other types of weapons as implements, as well as magic weapons that can be used as such..
Thus it is perfectly possible to make an attack with a melee weapon that is not a melee attack nor a weapon attack.
Caught between the irresistible nerd impulse to brag that I've been into [artist] since before it was cool and the undeniable reality that the principal reason [artist]'s early work is obscure is because it sucks ass.
Oh you're Undertale fan? Please I bet you didn't even play the Halloween Hack.
