Grace Kraft is a storyboard artist and comic author whose work includes the official Boom! Studios Steven Universe Ongoing comic series and Cartoon Network’s The Powerpuff Girls (2016). She has also contributed some of the most well-known and beloved art pieces to the Steven Universe fan community to date. Grace Kraft currently works in LA working on unannounced projects for various studios as well as creating comics and watercoloring on her own time.
Grace will be running panels, selling merchandise, and meeting fans all weekend long. We are so excited to have her back on the guest list for 2018.

A piece from earlier this year that I hope will become the first in a series of fusion watercolors that I’d like to complete one day. I want to make pieces that show the progression of each gem’s relationship with each other and how their fusion reflects the person they are together.
Thus, for this piece, I wanted to show how Pearl and Amethyst have grown to be more close and comfortable with each other, with Opal reflecting that peace that they experience when they are in perfect harmony. Also I wanted to include the Sky Spire in the piece since it was where we first met Opal and as a location I’ve always thought it reflected Pearl and Amethyst well. Where the earth (where Amethyst was made) meets the sky (Pearl is from space).
Previews are out! I got the amazing opportunity to illustrate for Steven Universe. I was very nervous but I think it turned out great! It’s a super chill story about Lion and his shenanigans.

Hey guys! Just wanted to officially announce on here that I’m now writing for Boom Studio’s Steven Universe ongoing comic!
The first one I wrote is coming out on June 28th, this Wednesday so be sure to check it out! I titled this one “A Day in the Life of Lion” so expect to see some Lion adventures, with plenty of other familiar faces making appearances~
Meg did a great job bringing my script to life and giving Lion a lot of personality. The colors by Whitney and the lettering by Mike look fantastic too. I’m excited to get my copies!

It’s that time of year again!
Next up for the Johtodex, everyone’s favorite classic poison snakes, Ekans and Arbok. I had a lot of fun with the shading on Arbok as well as matching the color to the bubblegum pink coloring of Ekans’ Gold/Silver sprite.
Also just wanted to note that I’m skipping a bit around the Johtodex order because of how I want to group Pokemon on the physical pages I’m painting. So if you think I’ve skipped over your favorite, rest assured they’ll all be getting done.

This week’s Johtodex update features my favorite sandy pangolins, Sandshrew and Sandslash!
These two and their designs hold a special place in my heart, Sandslash was a valued member on several of my in-game teams. And Sandshrew is always just plain adorable.
We’re still in the caves for the Johtodex, so now it’s time for everyone’s favorite madness-inducing poison bats!
For the Johtodex project, I aim to give each pokemon a dynamic pose, possibly with an attack if possible. For these three, Zubat is using it’s infamous Supersonic, Golbat is using Lick, and Crobat is using Haze.
