** please don’t like this post** open for: f muses context: loosely inspired by ‘church bells’ by carrie underwood (see source), your muse is married to someone abusive and they’ve now come to tommy to ask him to ‘get rid of’ them.

christ –– i’m a dealer, not a murderer,” tommy’s stunned reply was, tone hushed as he leaned over the kitchen table. sure, they were alone inside his apartment, but he’d always been paranoid. with a sigh, he leaned back in his seat as he watched her, trying to determine if she was serious. she couldn’t be, right? of everyone he knew, she was probably the most straight-laced person tommy knew. one of the few people who’d made it out of this kind of life, out of this kind of poverty when her now-husband’s had first laid his eyes on her.

now, despite her designer clothes, her perfectly manicured nails and professionally styled hair, tommy couldn’t help but pity her. they’d run into each other last month, a chance encounter, really, but the black-and-blue skin around her eye had poked out from under her big sunglasses. and even though he’d tried not to stare, she’d caught him looking. was that why she’d come to him now, with this … truly ludicrous plan? or did she truly think he wouldn’t bat an eye, given his track record?

“you know this is … crazy, right?”

“Tommy...” Jai sat across the table from her old friend, and former dealer. She’d gotten clean, she’d made a good career, and she’d married.  “I know this sounds insane. But, if I stay he will kill me one of these days. If I walk, he will find me, and he will still kill me.” She took of the sunglasses, he’d clearly lifted his hand again. “I don’t know what else to do. The police won’t help, I’ve tried, but a fomer junkie prostitue isn’t exactly credible against a politician.”

Jai leaned across the table, “I’m not asking you to do it for me...I’m asking you to help me..to give me the right stuff to do it myself.  Please, please- Tommy, I don’t want to go home tonight because I know exactly what will happen, and I don’t know when he’s going to take it too far..”

Hamish Macfarlane - 35, heterosexual, political advisor

In Hamish’s mind, weddings should’ve been classed as the tenth circle of hell. As a man in his mid thirties, the previous few years had seen him attending a dozen weddings a year, the summer months increasingly sullied by a variety of nuptials. There remained a deep reluctance and distaste for them in Hamish’s mind but he still attended anyway out of loyalty to whichever friend or distant relative happened to be getting married that time, albeit taking some solace in the bar as the day dragged along.

For that particular wedding, hosted in an opulent country hotel, Hamish had been sitting comfortably at the bar for nearly an hour and nursed a nearly depleted glass of scotch. Pop music from the nearby disco blared but Hamish had little interest, his mind instead debating how he could make a clean exit for the evening. As he dwelled upon that, the bartender suddenly presented him with a fresh glass of scotch and Hamish raised his eyebrow, knowing he hadn’t ordered one. The bartender indicated to the side and Hamish turned to see a woman a few seats away smiling at him.

“Thanks, I need this one…” Hamish said then, taking the glass and raising it in a toast gesture.

Jai had sat through the wedding of no less than four colleauges this year alone. She didn’t dislike weddings as much as they were simply boring. Yes, it was nice for the bride and groom, but let it be done and then go home.

The service itself was pleasant, with a too large gap between that and the reception, but now they’d eaten and the reception was well underway, Jai took herself out of the main hustle and bustle and sat at the bar. She noticed the man sat only a few seats down and , for the first time in a while, was very drawn to him. She couldn’t think really of the last time she’d felt random attraction, but she was certainly feeling it now.

Jai signalled the barman, and ordered herself another wine, and whatever the quiet man across the way was having.  When he turned she gave a slight smile, and returned the gesture with her glass.

“TURNS OUT THAT THE good girl isn’t as good as she presents herself to be. What would people say if they found out that you’re not really that innocent?” For Hunter, she had always been too good to be true, which got under his skin. He made it his mission to find out her weakness, and boy, last night was his lucky night. He had walked into a fuck-fest, and witnessed her getting railed by the alleyway. The whole thing had been arousing and amusing. And now, he found himself wanting to exploit this new discovery.

“You mean the parents of my students? They’d probably not be happy, but so what. You saw me getting fucked, but lets be honest, my past isn’t exactly all spotless and virginal is it. You of all others should understand that.” She reminded him, swirling her drink slightly, “I got what I needed, as did they, those things just happened to be very different. They got to cum in a pussy, I got my rent paid.”

LONG TIME GONE

I am so sorry

My mental health took quite the down turn and I just didn’t have it in me to get on.

I’m still recovering, I’m still feeling very, very rubbish, but I am far more reliable on discord, if anyone wants my discord then just pm me.

“Ok, if we’re ok to stop somewhere I can grab a few bits that would be really useful, thank you. “ She looked confused, “Uhhh, hang on..so I’ll be teaching littles and big kids? In the one room? And..you’re not a teacher?”

“There’s a big supermarket in Tucson, right before the last exit,” Sally replied. “It will have better prices than anything we can find in the little towns after that. And…um, yeah, didn’t they tell you?” She sighed. “I guess that’s no surprise. You might be the only one who applied, so they didn’t want to scare you off.”

She smiled. “I know how that must sound. So no…you’re not going to an out-of-the-way place with horrible children, and worse parents. Admittedly it’s an out-of-the-way place, but I think once you see it you’ll agree that’s part of its charm. The school is just…a bit behind the times. It’s an old-fashioned one room school. The sort you call the kids in from recess with a handbell.”

“But academically, the kids are a match to kids anywhere. We have broadband, and people who know how to fix it when things go on the blink. You’ll want for nothing.”

“And no…I’m not a teacher. I’m…a Sorter. I guess you might say that’s a person who figures out where other people fit into the community.”

“Ok..” Jai smiled warmly “Well then, come Monday I’ll have a few names to learn. I’ll draw up my lesson plan and...email it out to parents.”

Jesus.

Look at this, and remember it next time someone says that the gay community survived the AIDS epidemic.

We didn’t survive, we started over. We lost all but an entire generation.

This is what “we survived Reagan, you’ll survive Trump” looks like. No, we didn’t.

This is a big reason why the movement to take away the word ‘Queer’ and exclude parts of our communities is gaining so much traction.  We lost our elders and with them, our history.  So TERFs and other bad actors have gained a lot of power because this generation largely isn’t here anymore to dispute them.  They’re building their vision of the queer community on the dead bodies of those we lost.

“Nice to meet you, I’m Jai.” She smiled, “I’m sure I can wait until we get there. Are there shops in the village?” She asked.
“So, how long have you been teaching?” She asked as they drove off.

“Shops? Mmm…no. There’s  like a 7-11 in Sunizona, but otherwise…Winslow’s the closest place with actual stores. The community’s stocked you up with fresh produce in the fridge and canned goods in the pantry, and no doubt youll be getting plenty of dinner invitations. But if you need anything besides food, we should probably make a stop here or in Tucson.”

“Teaching, me?” She shrugged. “I’ve filled in once or twice…nearly every grown-up in the Springs has, at some time or other. But I think you may not realize what an out-of the way place you’re going to. It’s literally a one-room school. Ten students, every grade from kindergarten to a couple of high-schoolers. Those older kids have probably done more teaching than I have, to be honest…”

chipped

Man, this is such a perfect analogy. “Chipped”… Just damaged enough for it to show at times, but not nearly broken enough to warrant fixing. And so often does the chipped cup turn itself to show its undamaged side.

Think I’m being visited-

Found a load of pics of my mum and I, then saw a pic of our old house on Google maps, as it was when we lived their, not with the extension they put on when we left.

Never felt as homesick in my life.

Jai was leaning on the wall of the visitors center having a smoke. She had sort of browsed abit but really there wasn’t much of anything round the place. So, she people watched.
The air was dry, dusty- but that was expected. What she didn’t expect was the giant poster board with her name in children’s writing. She flushed pink and put out her cigarette.
She walked over and smiled, “Hi..you’re Sally, then?”

Sally smiled as she saw Jai put out the cigarette. Was she maybe a bit embarrassed, at being caught smoking? Well, it was true that Sally didn’t want to breathe second-hand smoke…but she’d have no problem pulling over for a break or two along the way.

“I’m Sally, yes.” Good, whoever wrote Jai with the details remembered to give her a name. Sometimes the Old Ones forgot things like that…

“Are you hungry or thirsty? This visitor center doesn’t have much to offer considering how many people come through here, but we can stop and pick something up on the way out of town…”

The Old Ones had amply stocked the fridge and pantry in the teacherage, but if Miss Welch wanted anything special…like for instance a carton of cigarettes…they would need to hit a store at some point.

“Yeah.” She smiled back, “Are we leaving tonight or the morning?” She asked with a smile as she set her bag on the floor for a moment.
She hadn’t been away for the sake of it in ages! Hopefully this getaway with Kyle would be a nice start to the school break.

It wasn’t that late in the afternoon, but he wanted to leave this part up to her. “Well, I was going to leave that up to you, we could pack everything up and head out tonight or leave first thing in the morning. What do you think we should do?”

He honestly was just excited to be leaving, he didn’t mind either way.

“Yeah, we can go tonight, we may as well make the most of our time.” She decided, “I’ll help you pack the car.”

She hadn’t been away in God only knew how long, and she was excited to actually get going.

“What’s the place like?” She asked as she came in from putting stuff in the boot.

Ok, I’m not a big fan of these kinds of posts, but lately, I’m becoming more and more disheartened so I need to know if you’re out there.

Please reblog this post if you are willing to write with ‘un-shippable’ muses.

I’m talking about those muses who are perhaps elderly, who are married/taken and not liable to affairs, muses who are asexual/aromantic, or even just muses whose muns don’t really want to ship.

While I’m always happy that anyone would want to write with me, sadly, over time I have realised that my older/married/ace muses are very rarely (virtually never) requested. So please share this on your blog so that people know they can throw their muses at you who are not going to wind up in ships or with smut threads.

sometimes it feels like yall have completely lost your compassion for others like seriously. the amount of posts ive seen laughing at straight women for getting abused by their boyfriends is fucking ridiculous. it isnt funny.
