RECAST THE VOICE ACTOR PLAYING AANG

Myself and my friend @kataangiscanon created this petition together to demand that the voice actor (Eric Nam) playinh Aang in the animated ATLA movie, set for release in January 2026, is RECAST.

Casting someone who sides with the Israeli occupation and the genocide of the Palestinian people to play a genocide survivor is hypocritical and insulting. Not only to Aang as a character but to ATLA as a whole and everything the show represents.

We as a fandom cannot stand by a do nothing.

Dude it is SO FUN and EXCITING to see a reoccurring reader. If you've commented a handful of times on an author's work, I guarantee that they recognize you. You can't imagine how many times I've excitedly informed my friends "the person with the funny cat image commented!" "- anon is back!!!!" and the friends've recognized who I was talking about because I talk about my commenters so often LOL. We love you all!!!

when are they gonna stop perpetuating this blatant lie … I am so tired fr. Katara and Zuko were never planned to be a romantic pairing. Toph and Aang were also never planned to be a romantic pairing. And Sokka and Suki were also not originally planned to be an endgame couple—Suki was going to be a one time character but was later brought back because fans liked her character. Katara and Aang were actually planned from the beginning, though, and bryke have said so many times.

Mike: sorry to disappoint the zvtara fans out there, but we never intended for Zuko and Katara to get together.

Bryan: come on, kids. zvtara never would have lasted; it was just dark and intriguing.

Mike: Yeah, Aang-Katara, that romance. Some stuff developed along the way, and we're glad some fans are more receptive to that element of the show, but it was in the DNA of the thing from the start.

I am once again dreaming of a spin off story where Aang has to deal with Koh in depth somehow. cuz Koh is easily one of the creepiest yet most fascinating spirits we see in the show. I am obsessed w the horror potential here and I need a whole ass animated series based around him

We are using a new system this year and no longer using SurveyMonkey or SurveyPlanet. We have switched to Google Forms. Please note the different interfaces.

Prompts that were similar to each other have been combined, just separated with a slash. For example: Glow/Glowing. Some submissions were longer than the one to two words/short phrases limit, so those longer phrases were not accepted.

In total, we had 142 prompts submitted and then consolidated into 115 prompts this year. Thanks again to everyone who submitted!

it’s so dumb when ppl say this. the whole reason Aang doesn’t wish to kill Ozai is because it would violate a sacred tenet of his culture and people’s beliefs, and that exists solely through him.

the other avatars had a luxury of never having to worry specifically about their own actions reflecting upon an entire culture and people.

avatar Yangchen herself had this same luxury. she was the last air nomad avatar before Aang, and she spoke about how it was necessary to sacrifice someone’s own spiritual needs to protect the world—only one problem; the spiritual need of Aang is intrinsically tied to the conflict he has to resolve. that was never the case for a previous Avatar. Yangchen was willing to give up her people’s spirituality to kill if necessary, and that was because there were other air nomads. Aang himself was willing to kill Ozai; he had practically resigned himself to that (reluctantly), until he asked the lion turtle for advice. Which was why the lion turtle showed him energy bending, because by continuing to ask for another option, he showed he had an unbendable spirit and thus could perform it without destroying himself. Which is something no previous avatar had ever done.

katara is so fucking funny in “the blind bandit” bc they go to the earth rumble she’s like “UGH men and their VIOLENCE…. so uncouth and distasteful and uncivilized,” and obviously she’s just being used as a mouthpiece through which to establish toph’s whole deal. but like. not two minutes ago she was literally freezing two boys to a wall, just because she can, with the biggest fucking smile on her face. so violence done between consenting parties for sport and entertainment is bad, but wreaking wanton havoc on strangers for no good reason is fine, actually?? girl get ur story straight!!
