Moving Forward...

It’s time for this blog to take its leave. I want to dedicate my time and energy to writing more original content. My fics will still be available on AO3, as well as on this vacant blog. I’m not deactivating, simply not logging into this one anymore.

Five Friends Friday! (March 16)

I know it’s Saturday but I was on a train all of Friday so here we go.

@kotyonoksnz An artist with a very good art style! They've got some very cute OCs, Venn, Theo, and Anika, along with various fandom content (Voltron included. However, they are a kink-style blog and would like to stay that way. They aren't NSFW though! And they do commissions (which are full at the moment but damn I wanna get on that). @nerdlycharming This lovely person is an active part of our sickfic community! He posts some very good Voltron and Percy Jackson content, along with various memery and general blog stuff. A very good blog to follow if you're just hopping into the sickfic community here! @trainwreckgenerator A very good general blog, riddled with memes and good activist content. They also reblog Homestuck (which I am personally not a fan of, but that's what blacklisting is for). Chock full of memes to send to friends. @charminglyantiquated This blog was one of the first ones I followed! They did Cornerwitches, Elsewhere University, and some other generally spooky-but-not scary stuff. If you like Welcome To Night Vale, think of that aesthetic but with a more pastel color pallet, if that makes sense. Also, their art style is so unique and I love it so much. @catnippackets A very soft artist! Their blog is a general one, but their art is so lovely! They do a webcomic called Swan, did the famous stimming post, and posts/reblogs a lot of Voltron content. Also many cats, and everyone needs more cats on their blog.

Spring Break Commissions!

I’m nearly on break, in which I get to go home and relax for a week. Let’s do some commissions!

My prices have lowered! We’re going to do flat rates instead of increasing after 1k. This makes it easy for everyone!

100 words SFW = $1 100 words NSFW = $1.50 Cap at 2.5k words. Rounding down the cents, because why deal with those small boys. Easy game, easy life.

Examples! Mute Galra Keith was a commission and is 1049 words. With the new prices, it would be out $10. Weight wasn’t a commission but it’s 1567 words. It would be $15. Without You was 2680 words so it would cost $26

Topics! I still write for Voltron, but I also write OCs (with enough description of personality and features), Hunter x Hunter, The Adventure Zone (characters only, no actual McElroys), any parings including platonic, and both sickfic and nonsickfic related plotlines.

Five Friends Friday! (March 9)

Look at me, I’m actually doing stuff! I wanna get more involved in the communities and help promote good people and good work, and also just good friends because I love my friends! Ideally I wanna do this every Friday, or at least that’s my end goal.

@ocsickficsideblog - OC sickfics + normal fics April is amazing?? She’s a kind and caring person, and her characters have gotten my heart just as much as she has. We get to go on a journey with her and her characters, all of them contributing to a bigger plot of their lives. It’s like watching a TV show (binging and all). If you like grumpy redheads, soft short boys, and general British slang and goodness, check her out!

@nightpeltofthunderclan - general blog + some writing This lovely being is just dabbling into writing! They plan on making an OC blog soon, and I have met these characters, they are too precious. They also post, in their own words ‘mostly Voltron and shitposts’ which I think captures them pretty damn well.

Chen Chen - LGBTQ Poetry I’ve met Chen Chen during one of his poetry readings at my university. His work is extremely powerful and relatable, and discusses issues with society, LGBTQ discrimination, Asian-American difficulties, and much more! He’s already published and deserves much more attention and love for the work he does.

@bucketoffudgeinamuffin - Why It Sucks To Be A Snake In Space WISTBASIS already has 18 chapters and it’s still going! It’s a Voltron piece in a mythical AU, complete with sickfic, whump, slice of life, hurt/comfort, and the mythical creatures that the paladins become. It’s pretty niche, but if that’s your thing, you will love this work.

@skel-loo - general blog + art + memes I can’t do this without a sister tax. Skel-loo is a huge memer, but she also will occasionally post incredible monster art of her OCs (some of which she did on her phone?? and it’s not fair??). Very gay, very good.

'trash' is a term that is used in fandoms to refer to someone who does a lot of fanworks for something. It is also used in reference to said fanworks. This is especially true for major fans. For example, my sister is a major undertale fan and refers to herself as trash for drawing fanart which she also refers to as trash. Both instances are meant as jovial terms, good natured. So that's what I meant when I said don't refer to yourself as trash in the derogatory sense.

Mm I see what you mean now. But those also stem from a derogatory nature, I would believe. Meant in good fun, of course, but I don’t think there’s ever been an instance where ‘trash’ has been used purely for good, you know?

Sarcasm and nihilism are so ingrained in us that sometimes it’s hard to tell the levels of sarcasm, especially over a text-basis. So is self-shaming and whatnot.

I don’t actually think I’m trash, but I do feel guilty for being inconsistent with my presence and my works.

Don't call yourself trash. At least, not in the derogatory sense. Life happens, it can't be stopped. Life sucks, and oft times that can't be helped. And though it's hard, try to remember as often as you possibly can that there are those around you, people that you have never seen their face, that care.

I don’t know how trash can be in a non-derogatory sense XD

This is super sweet though, and I’m glad there’s a lot of you out there that are still here and enjoying my work. Thank you guys for understanding my lack of presence, it’s run of the mill by now. 

We’ll see where this new ‘brand’ takes us most likely away from Voltron and more just into writing and the only promise I’m going to make is that I will be gentler on myself for lack of updates and content. 

Also special shout out to @jamthedingus cause dude you’ve been here longer than anyone that I can remember. I see you and send you love and thanks ^_^

Absamynth “Sam”

  • Genderless, but sticks to one human male form

  • Hair - very dark brown, near black, in semi-sentient dreadlocks
