the bastardization of BOGO is unforgivable
This is a picture of my friend Becky. She used to be a happy, popular girl until one night she snorted marijuana at a party. She died instantly. Please, don’t do marijuana. It’s the most dangerous drug out there. Please don’t wind up like Becky.
pretty sure that’s Taylor Swift
no its becky
swiftie heritage post
wait a damn minute, were the surprise song mashups an easter egg for the double album???
I feel like the way Taylor released TTPD in two parts so close together was intentional because it’s exactly like her real experience of going from a 6 year relationship to a rebound with no time to process either pain, so the two experiences blended together in one confusing, devastating blur of a blow
the manuscript ending the album on the utter jawdrop moment that neither of the muses of the actual album were the first men to fuck her up with promises of marriage and babies, and that first heartbreak so long ago laid the scene for the woman she would become and the ways she would approach love and how we all watched her life like scenes in a show but she kept coming back to the manuscript of the first torrid affair that ruined her, to bookend an album about two love affairs that destroyed her utterly in almost the exact same way, because all her muses are acquired like bruises........ it's bone-chilling
TTPD is an album that almost begs you to just afford Taylor humanity and yet so many refuse to do that simple act that every person is owed.
when everyone realizes that she wrote this album for HERSELF released it for HERSELF did all of it for HERSELF then we can talk about how, yes, it is one of her best.
The fact that some of us are still in that asylum 🫠
Ttpd is a marauder album.
It's for James girlies
It's for Remus girlies
IT'S ESPECIALLY FOR SIRIUS GIRLIES
It's our album
oh what a way to diiiiie, my bed sheets are ablaze I've screamed his name buildin' up like waves crashin' over my grave without ever touchin' his skin, how can I be guilty as sin?
i love the…. almost horror aspects of this album. all the references to ghosts and death…. and sonically, the unexpected shrieking in WAOLOM and the banging and screaming during “old habits die screaming” and even the way the tension subtly builds across the sixteen tracks and by the end you’re so stressed and shaken it’s like! losing your sense of self and feeling like you’ve become a monster is horror. and i’m sooooo glad she leaned into it
im fully in love with ttpd and i'm so glad she shared it with us in its entirety. its not the album i was expecting but that seems to be part of the point. i think it weaves reality and unreality around raw, unapologetic emotion.
real fucked up that caffeine works differently for people in general than it does for me
If you have not already, try to get tested for adhd
wait what
in response to your tags, the 'hyperactivity' associated with adhd is a bit misleading; often, neurotypical observers will insist people with adhd are 'hyperactive' when they could easily mean something more like 'they have multiple interests which consume many hours of their time at a stretch' or 'they change what activity they are doing in a way i don't like/very often' or even 'they show too much enthusiasm about their hobbies'
now, about caffeine: stimulants work differently in adhd brains. Some doctors believe it is because people w/ adhd do not produce or retain high enough levels of dopamine. Thus, the theory is that stimulants bring an adhd brain closer to 'standard' arousal levels (arousal, here, meaning 'excitement' in general and not sexual arousal).
Important to note: for most people, caffeine literally makes them unable to be tired. Iirc, it blocks melatonin receptors.
If you drink caffeine and get more tired, or if it has literally 'no' effect, your brain is goofing up somewhere. It should literally actually make you more alert and awake. People aren't exaggerating or making up the symptoms commonly associated with caffeine- neurotypical people get caffeine jitters, become more alert, and literally cannot feel tired with large enough doses of caffeine.
(and before anyone asks: i type with the bolding because it is a friendlier way to type long posts for people with adhd- at the very least, people with my type of adhd)
Additionally, inheritance laws especially in English law used to be very strict about what wives and daughters could receive. Most of the property when a person died would go to a male heir even if that person left a wife or older daughter. This could even include the very house a woman was living in when her husband died. Cue Jane Austen and other writers of this era who discuss problems of women’s legal dependence. At certain times women could not hold land, houses, or bank accounts but they could take more personal property like jewelry or dresses. Women had to be conscious of the value of their clothing and jewelry because it could someday mean the difference between penniless or able to afford a place to live after your husband or father died.
