I regret to inform you that Discord's new Terms of Service includes an arbitration clause. You can find it here https://discord.com/terms/#16. This clause includes an opt-out, which I have transcribed here:

You can decline this agreement to arbitrate by emailing an opt-out notice to arbitration-opt-out@discord.com within 30 days of April 15, 2024 or when you first register your Discord account, whichever is later; otherwise, you shall be bound to arbitrate disputes in accordance with the terms of these paragraphs. If you opt out of these arbitration provisions, Discord also will not be bound by them.

These clauses are underhanded ways that corporations seek to deprive you of your right to participate in class-action lawsuits and your right to a jury trial. (This does only apply to us users ,other people still spread the word though )

Bad news, @noodelzmop. Arbitration basically means that if you want to sue Discord for whatever reason, the dispute needs to be handled in house. Specifically, in their house. If you don't get this email out, you're basically signing away your right to legal recourse if they do criminally shitty stuff to you, like with the McDonalds app.

I have been told that emailing "I am confirming that as of the date of this email, I am choosing to opt out of binding arbitration to settle disputes with Discord." With the Email you used for your discord account is enough for the notice but take this with a grain of salt as this was not said by a lawyer

More Neo and Roman stuff from the RWBY Archives

people are already complaining that the next episode of Beyond is focusing on Jaune instead of a member of RWBY, when like

I don't know if your entitled asses forgot but the company got shut down after Beyond went into production, these four episodes we're getting (the latter two we have no idea where the focus is yet either) were all they managed to get done, they couldn't get all they wanted to do done, this isn't a case of mismanaged priorities or 'unfair favouritism' or whatever the fuck

as much as i would've preferred that all four episodes focused on characters we Didn't get to see in v9 i think people need to realize that, if the first episode is anything to go by, they're only able to use voice actors that already work at rt. they cleverly got around this in the first episode, but it still heavily restricts who they can focus on. this episode is about jaune because miles was there to record and it's highly likely that one/both of the last two episodes will focus on ruby and/or yang because that's all they're going to have left, unless they focus on very minor characters like scarlet or have another rt employee voice a previously unvoiced character. they just don't have a lot of options with this.

It's not like I dislike rwby now it's just that I've gotten into other stuff

I still think about rwby from time to time and have some rwby stuff in the works (including OCs). I just enjoy it quietly and yell about to close friends in the fndm lol

The RoosterTeeth site will be deleted May 15th 😔 do yourselves a favor and start archiving EVERYTHING you can now. RageQuit, RvB, X-Ray & Vav, the Minecraft Let's Plays, RWBY, etc. RT is warning us as nicely as they can that there's a p good chance we won't be able to access ANYTHING by next year, including the YouTube channel. Download!

May as well make this a public response instead of just a reply. There is an archive already in the works and people have captured pretty much everything that has ever been released by RT. The focus was first on pure content gathering, now they’re shifting to how to preserve it somewhere for people to access for posterity.

Don’t fret; no need to worry. There’s nothing we can do about Warner Brothers, but the content that is already produced should be safe. Gather your own favorites (I did for me!) but regardless it should be all safe and accessible very soon. ❤️

I don’t care whether you like rooster teeth or not the idea of deleting 21 years of media should be incredibly concerning

I'm not a FIRST member, but I wanted to spread the word. The official shutdown date has been announced. May 15 is when it all goes down. One month from today.

This is your absolute LAST CHANCE to save ANYTHING from Rooster Teeth you may want to keep, whether it be RWBY, RvB, Camp Camp, et cetera. If you have any unfinished business, take care of it NOW. Once the calendar hits the 15th, the axe falls.

And just so you know, this is NOT me raising the RWBY white flag. Not even close. I'm not giving up hope anytime soon. Even when the site goes down, we still can't give up. The only time we can ever give up is when Kerry comes out and tells us it's over. And seeing how passionate he and the rest of CRWBY are about this series, that's not going to happen until they have exhausted EVERY option.

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know. May 15 is when the guillotine comes down. Do whatever you need to before then.

Another KOSA update:

Sadly, it is true that today, 04/10/2024, KOSA has been introduced to the House BUT! That doesn’t mean it’s game over just yet!

Proof:

Friendly reminder that there is much less support for KOSA in the House than the Senate. And even if it does pass the House—God forbid, it’s not over until the President signs it.

Here is the phone number for the Committee that’ll be holding the hearing on April 17th (Use the top number), and of course keep calling your Senators & House Representative.
