+ I want you to imagine, a ten years old version of yourself, sitting right there on this couch. And the little girl believes that she’s fat and ugly and an embarrasment. Imagine her, sitting there, right now. Now; tell that little girl she’s fat. Tell that little girl she’s ugly. Tell that little girl that she’s an embarrasment and worthless and useless. Cause that’s what you do every single day when you say that to yourself. And you convice yourself that you’re an embarrasment, and a burden. But don’t you think that she’s ugly? No? Or fat? No? Or an embarrasment; or horrible, or worthless? If she said to you how she felt about herself, what would you tell her? - That she’s fine. That she’s perfect. + Then that’s what you need to tell yourself everytime you feel that panic, that anxiety. You need to sooth yourself like you would sooth the little girl. Yeah? You need to tell yourself that everything’s gonna be okay. If you commit to that; then I promise you’ll be able to face anything.

2x03 Girls (1/?) + doodles

Monday, the 30th of September, 1996. You ever see those people at school or college who are always deep in a book? It’s not so much that they love reading, it’s because when you’re on your own, it’s too embarrassing to sit and do nothing. You’ve got to look busy, like you don’t care that no one wants to talk to you. The funny thing is that at college, if your thing is looking sad and contracting hepatitis, there’s a place for you. If your thing is playing old computer games and seeing who can be the first to complete Golden Axe 100 times, then there’s a place for you. If your thing is being popular, cool and getting attention off boys, there’s a place for you. But I was now the crazy girl who set the fire alarm off. So for me -and for a few others -there was no place. The worst thing was that it was my own fault I was alone.

Rae: was a strong, loyal person who tried her best to overcome her issues and worked hard to learn from her mistakes.

Series 3: was selfish, distant, had no inkling whatsoever about how to solve her problems and instead of owning up to her mistakes blamed others for them.

Finn: was a deeply sensitive, observant person who was keenly intuitive to the emotions of others.

Series 3: Has no insight to what’s going on with Rae or the rest of the gang, calls Rae “mental”, kisses another girl

Chloe: Smart, resilient, composed, described by Rae as a leader and “Queen Bitch”

Series 3: She was given this image that made me feel everyone saw her as an infant child that needed to be protected and looked after. Also anxious and not very bright.

The rest of the gang: Actually decent friends to Rae, able to sense when something isn’t right with her.

Series 3: Barely there, totally oblivious to what’s happening with Rae, joke no one should get in a car with Rae after they visit Chloe in the hospital after her accident and laugh about it when she leaves.
