“Oh, boohoo. He has to die. What a horrible fate.”

“Either way, you won’t risk breaking the treaty.” Ardyn tapped the boy on the nose with a smile that showed less sympathy than Noctis deserved. The poor prince had no idea what he was dealing with, a spiteful creature twisting fate until he could break it entirely, mankind be damned. His misery didn’t need company, didn’t even need an end, it just needed revenge.
“No. I won’t,” the younger male admitted with a soft sigh, frowning as the man tapped his nose in a condescending way that almost made his skin crawl. So this was his life now? He was the Chancellor’s husband and that was it? He’d taken away from his home and essentially stripped of his right to rule. He’d have no power in Niflheim. “But that doesn’t mean I have to be agreeable. I agreed to this marriage for my people and I’ll consummate but that doesn’t mean I have to be pleasant.

“I expected nothing less,” he assured him, looking less than disappointed. He preferred to break him himself anyway. That was the fun part of his plan, a plan that allowed for as much improvisation as he pleased. “You will be agreeable on our wedding night, though. I would hate to have to replace my bedding. You see, I have no patience for blood stains. I know the method to remove them, but I simply can’t be bothered.”

The prince looked a bit confused but still angry with the chancellor as he started to laugh. As he spoke, the younger man snorted and glanced aside. Ardyn put his hand in the center of the prince’s chest and slowly pushed him toward the bed. It was not long before he felt the edge of his bed against his knees and fell on the bed in shock. He wanted to sit up immediately, but Chancellor Niflheims pushed him even more on the bed. Disgusted, he turned his head to the side and braced himself against Ardyn. “Keep your hands off me!” he hissed, trying to break away from the chancellor. He heard the words of his counterpart and so he answered with a growl. “Then you should have taken somebody else instead of me!”

Ardyn was done indulging the boy. He was finding more amusement in his struggle than his terror anyway. Quite a bit stronger than Noctis, he kept a hand on his chest to keep him from sitting up. “No one else was of any worth,” he reasoned. To Noctis, he had taken the most valuable thing King Regis had to offer, his only son, the prince of Lucis. To Ardyn, he was even more valuable, something he was able to take away from a god, the main actor in his prophecy. He was going to do what he could to see just how much he could turn the tides of destiny.

“Did you? I fail to see how.” Far too theatrical for a man who appeared to be well over twice the prince’s age, he gestured along the length of Noctis’s clothed form, then shrugged as if he were the cause of his threat. “I will inform the emperor. Oh, he will be so disappointed. Blood was not meant to be shed on this momentous occasion. It was supposed to be such a happy day. Did you see how he conversed with your father? As if they were old friends.” Of course, the blatant threat was punctuated by a smile that feigned innocence.
His jaw clenched. He could feel the weight of Ardyn’s gaze, as heavy as the obvious and open threat he was making.
“And I missed the part in the treaty where it said I had to debase myself to make it binding. Is the Empire really preparogn to throw away their chance at peace because I refused to sleep with their chancellor?”
Noctis was aware that he might be pushing his luck, but he had not intention of just backing down easily.

“Yes,” he answered simply at first. The one word was evidence enough that Ardyn could not have cared less about the treaty. In fact, he made it seem as if Emperor Iedolas was waiting for a reason to attack Insomnia. To cut through the shock he may have caused, he elaborated. “It is our law. No unconsummated marriage is recognized by Empire law. We are not married, Prince. Not yet. Our marriage is required by the treaty.”

A part of him was afraid as the man pulled him closer but there was anger mixed in. Hatred for the situation and Ardyn himself for the threats and this horrible marriage plot. “Your emperor is probably already seeing to that, I’m sure. Unless I see my father and friends alive after this then I’m going to assume they’re dead or going to die soon.”
Noct managed to keep his footing as he was pushed further into the ship. “Happy marriage my ass!” He shouted. A man like Ardyn wasn’t going to care about him. Wouldn’t love him in any way healthy or otherwise. The prince was destined to be his little trophy, his prize. If things had been different maybe Noctis would be happily married to the love of his life. But instead he was Ardyn’s.

It wasn’t as if he could deny it. Once they were well into enemy territory, the empire would light up Insomnia’s sky with destruction and devastation, and Noctis would have nothing left to run back to. Though, Ardyn would gladly give him something to run from. Not that he would allow his prize to get away. He was still debating whether or not to allow him to fulfill his purpose. “Happy for me at least,” he mused with a shrug. “It could be happy for you as well, if you would only submit to your husband.”

Though unwarranted and despite his initial disagreements, there wasn’t much to argue against such as if less layers resulted in him being restless throughout the ceremony, it was for the best to be mindful of what he was comfortable and what he isn’t, sooner or later he’ll grow accustomed to the preference if not alone the image. After the short exchange of dialogue, he hoped he’d be regained his little bubble of peace, but apparently that was not it. Sure, he didn’t mind too highly since it wasn’t like he just finished but it was more of preserving the last moments by his lonesome before debating how long his social meter lives to last. Not to mention not particularly sure of this overall, implored as the only way to spare Lucis – neighboring areas if not Eos entirely – from on-going wars. Would being married really seal the deal? Both the invasion and contact served anything but to reduce his stress, contrary if the latter was meant as physical reassurance, to mellow down his former huffines before words. Shortly he parted ways as to finish up, although the true reason was to regain a leveled gap between them, returning in a semi-pacing fashion
I know, but at the same time I couldn’t care less if their impression says otherwise. I’m – more concerned of the wellbeing of Lucis, and those outside it. ❜ The prince conceded as far that it’ll benefit everyone, but..  shit – maybe it was too soon to start let doubt settle into his mind. Marriage does come off as a little nerve-wracking, but not more than his kingdom’s fate depended on it. Are you sure this will make the peace treaty official even more so? ❜

The prince was released without protest. In fact, the reaction from the chancellor was a smile of feigned understanding. They barely knew one another after all~. After the wedding, though, when Noctis was torn away from those who would protect him with nothing less than their lives, he would have no say in whether or not he was touched by his husband. He would belong to him, in spite of the wishes of a particular deity. “Oh, of course, your highness. I would expect nothing less of a prince.”

He then circled the prince, stalked around him like a hungry predator around his helpless prey. No expression he could fake could clear the air of that feeling. “The treaty will become official once we are married, the morning after the wedding night.”

Embrace (Your Fate)
For @ardynoctweek Day 7: Free Day – Ardyn gets tired of waiting and drags poor Noct up to the Crystal to shove him in.

(Anybody remember that scene in FF8 where Seifer kidnaps Rinoa and shoves her forward so the Sorceress can absorb her? It’s like that lol)

Reluctantly, he entered the bedroom and his gaze wandered to the bed, which was in front of him. Just the thought of what’s going to happen to him made him feel sick and stopped him in his run. He just stopped, still angry inside, desperate and disgusted. The prince wanted to get away at any cost! Ardyn pushed him in the direction of the bed and the young man stumbled forward a bit. He immediately turned to the chancellor and growled at him angrily. The prince decided when he left and nobody else. He had heard the Chancellor’s words and his eyes darkened. “Why don’t I get the feeling that you’ve been waiting all this time to have me here? What you up to? Will you kill me now and then destroy Insomnia?!” His voice shook with rage, and the fear in him drove him forward. He simply didn’t know what the guy promised of this disgusting arranged marriage. It was definitely not good!

It was like watching the actions of a cornered beast, fearful, yet instinctively defensive, lashing out at every small movement of the perceived threat. A dangerous reaction when the threat was very real. His latest question pulled a chuckle from the chancellor. “Now why would I do a thing like that? It would be a pitiable waste of a fresh spouse, wouldn’t it?” Pressing a hand to the center of Noctis’s chest, he walked forward and pushed him back until the back of the prince’s knees hit the bed and Ardyn was able to push him onto it. “The truth is I was the only one willing to accept you in this treaty. No one else wanted you.”

The unacceptable withdraw was met with a bruising grip on the boy’s chin, one that pulled him nearer. “I’m afraid you’ll have to endure. You see, our marriage is not yet consummated. According to the law of Niflheim, that means we are not yet wed.” His grip softened, fingers stroking where they may have turned pale flesh an angry red. “Peace is not yet achieved, Prince.”
The Prince couldn’t help but wince as the grip on his chin tightened to the point that he was sure a bruise would form. He didn’t resist further as the Chancellor pulled him closer. Honestly, the idea of consummating made his skin crawl. He’d always thought his first time would be with someone he loved, not some stranger he’d been forced to marriage.
“You guys are really that old fashioned?” He worded it more like an insult than a question. Consummating a marriage hadn’t been law in Lucis for hundreds of years. “Or maybe you’re just perverted.”
