Hello.

I promise I’m not dead. Sadly I haven’t really been feeling much of a muse for Yuri as of late. No, I’m not leaving Yuri for good, but I am putting him on hiatus for a little while.

I know, perfect timing considering it’s in the middle of the Winter Games and his birthday is in a few weeks, but ever since drama broke out with a certain group that shall remain nameless, it sucked the life right out of me.

In the meantime, I’ll be active on my other blog @chaotic--purity if any of you wants to interact.

Again, sorry for the sudden disappearance. Not sure when I’ll be active on Yuri again, but I will let everyone know when I’ll be posting again!

“…”
He stares at the other, surprised… before he smiles and shakes his head. “I… I pushed those kids way too hard. i made them more scared of me if they lost than happy if they won. It was wrong of me. But… I don’t want you, or anyone else to be scared of me. I’ll train you hard, but… I don’t want you to feel like you can’t trust me. Because I’m so… so grateful that you gave me a second chance.”
He wipes hi face with a hand. “…And of course I wanna train with you. I wanna see what your limits are, and how much you can take before you’re ready to drop from exhaustion. I don’t want you to get hurt if you’re going to compete.” Kamoshida can’t help but lean back, looking a lot more at ease. “Besides, I figure I could make your form is on point when you’re doing the stuff I do!”
He’s gonna keep eating. It’s been a while since he had anything that wasn’t shit prison food. Even if he’s a stingy bastard, he loves good food. Especially when it’s good for him…
“Da, maybe so…”, he said after stuffing his face with another piece of shrimp. God, he loved the seafood and sushi here. So much better and cheaper than back home in Russia.
“I want you to work me as hard as you can! I can take anything you throw at me.”, he told him seriously. “I can prove it tomorrow at the gym! I think that’s a good place to start.”

“I think so too. I look forward to training you, champ. I think this could be the start of a beautiful friendship.”

The day was quick. Kamoshida was allowed to stay out of the prison for the duration of the off season so he could be observed and scrutinized. If he did well, he’d be allowed to keep training yuri during the skating season.

The coach was up bright and early, ready to train. The gym they’d meet at had an area reserved for them, thanks to Yuri. Unfortunately, there were fans of his that had gathered hoping to meet them.

However, the infamy attached to Kamoshida’s name was enough to get several to keep a decent distance as the man waited outside the gym for his latest trainee… Just as well. Kamoshida was learning not to hide himself away, to accept he’d done wrong an that he was trying to get better.   It would be rough, but having a steady job as well as responsibilities would be helpful to him…

Yuri, for the first time in awhile, was looking forward to practice. He wasn’t sure if he would be prepared for the amount of backlash he was going get from his fans and wasn’t sure how he was going to deal with even losing so many. However, he needed to do what was best for him.

Yuri arrived at the gym early that morning. He had his hood up, sunglasses, and medical mask, hiding the majority of his face. Luckily the gym owner had unlocked the back door so he wouldn’t be bombarded by his fans, trying to get through. Last thing he wanted to deal with was his fan base this early in the morning.

When he finally got in, he waved over to Kamoshida to get inside the gym before they start tramping him over. He could hear them squeeing when they realized who it was.

"Wow, Yuri Plisetsky, its a pleasure to meet you." Vincent chirped with a wide smile. "I'm Vincent Dubois, one of your competitors."

Yuri squinted, taking the earbud out of his ear. The Russian skater was in the middle of stretching on his yoga mat when the Samoan approached him. He didn’t look familiar. Was this his first time at Skate Canada?

He normally didn’t socialize with his competition, but since his coaches were only across the room and had gotten on to him about being rude to the other skaters, he wasn’t going to risk getting in trouble again.

“Um…hi.”, he greeted, unsure how to even make small talk. He looked over at Yakov who was watching him closely now, as if he was waiting for him start a fight. What a pain. He was hoping he could warm up in peace. “Did you need a place to warm up? You can use my mat if you didn’t bring one.”

“Yes, I am the first to compete representing Samoa.” He was rather proud of the fact. “I usually compete for France, since that is where I train, but I am hoping this will open the door for more people like myself.”

Vincent watched Yuuri go down into a splits, and rather easily mimicked him. He may be a large man, but he was certainly as flexible as those smaller. Now, Vincent was aware of the sort stigma Yuuri had around him, of being rude and wanting to be left to his own devices. But Vincent was a fan of his, has been since he joined the senior division, and would be a fool to turn down a chance to talk with him even for a moment.

Yuri wasn’t expecting a large guy like Vincent to be as flexible as him. True that he was a fellow figure skater and was to be expected to have incredible leg strength, but Yuri was known to be a flexible as the female skaters.

In a rare instance, Yuri smiled at the mentioned of his country representation. “That’s actually…really amazing if you to do…”, he says honestly. “I bet everyone in Samoa watching today is very proud of you. Kinda reminds me of a good friend who competed here last year, who was the first to represent Kazakhstan. His name is Otabek. Maybe you heard of him?”

There was an undeniable swell of pride in Vincent’s chest as Yuri spoke, and his smile showed it. He had actually received a call earlier that day from his grandmother, who had told just about every person in Pago Pago that would listen, about how excited she and the rest of his family were to see him compete. She made him promise to take her to a competition next time.

“Otabek Altin, of course.” Vincent chirped as he moved to grab his own ankle. Might as well do some extra stretches while he’s here. “I watched his performance last year- I think my grandmother really likes him.”

Yuri’s grin turned to a wide toothy one when he heard his best friend was now getting fans. He honestly believed his friend did not receive enough recognition. He changed positions, now sitting down with his legs straight in front of him and leaning forward to touch his toes.

“Such a shame he isn’t competing in Skate Canada this year. I would have introduced you.”, he says finally standing up. “Question, how strong are you?”, he asks out of he blue.

Vincent once again mimicked Yuri’s position, easily reaching his toes with his feet pointed. There was a swell of pride when he saw the grin, happy that he sort of caused it, and smiled brightly in return.

“Maybe some other time.” He shrugged. “As for my strength? I can deadlift about…one-hundred and sixty pounds I think. Why?”

Vincent certainly wasn’t as strong as some of his family, especially his uncles, but for his size and weight he did quite well. A little above average actually. Picking up his cousins, work out equipment, and natural muscle mass gave him quite an edge.

Yuri arched his back, still feeling the effects of sleeping on his back wrong from last night in the hotel room.

He normally slept with a maternity pillow and went to the chiropractor regularly. He had also forgotten his joint roller so he had been aching for the entirety of this trip. Lilia had warned him that his slouching and bad posture outside the rink would catch with him and he didn’t change his habits.

“I hate to ask..”, he started. “But do you mind popping my back and getting a few knots out? I usually ask Otabek to do it, but since he isn’t here, would you mind doing it?”

Vincent seemed to be all smiles, even as he noted Yuri’s less than sociable tone. No matter. He was just excited to be here, competing in the Americas instead of Europe as he normally did. He didn’t expect to do fantastic, but he hoped he at least did alright against everyone here.

“Oh, non, merci though.” Vincent chirped. “I just wanted to say hello- my first time competing in Skate Canada, and I figured the more friends I make the better, you know?”

Vincent realized just then how curious they looked together. Yuri was small, lean, pale blonde with blue eyes. A sort of idealized skater. Vincent though, he was very tall, muscle, dark all around save for his patches of pale skin. If he wasn’t so focused on trying to socialize, he’d be self conscious.

Yuri was surprised Vincent even wanted to talk to him. Surely he must have heard stories about how much of an asshole he was to his competition. It was because of this most avoided him like the plague and let him do his own thing.

Vincent himself looked unlike anyone he has ever seen before. Yuri was used to seeing people of all sorts of nationalities from his travels and competitions. However he had never seen anyone with the type of condition he had. He was tempted to ask, but he knew asking that would give them both some unwanted attention.

“Da...”, he finally says, doing the splits on his mat. “I suppose better me than than JJ. That guy is a total douche.”, he admits casually. “So, what country...”, he squints to read his entry badge. “Sa-mo-a? That’s a first.”

O : I went to Japan to celebrate our 1st anniversary

—————————————————————– I’ll just recap day 1 First time (anniversary celebration) and day 2 Social media

Avatar

it rung for a few minute before someone picked up. the dreamer arcana flinched at the sudden full blown russian she was getting on the other end.suddenly feeling panicky Kimika found her voice “um hello?” she aswered back. she was thankful the man on the other end started speaking english. “ im a classmate of Yuri’s. he had a fainting spell after school. i found his phone so i wanted to call his parts and let them know  what happened.  were still here at school” she explained

after a few minutes of this, she agreed to wait with Yuri until he arrived.

“ok theyre in their way“ she sighed putting his phone back in his pocket

“so now what do we do?“ Yusuke asked

“we stick to the story. deny anything he may ‘think he saw’ “ Kimika stated. this had to work. theyre lives would be on the line if they didnt

“i see. play the fool. understood“ the artist  nodded

Victor was then notified of the situation. Apparently a classmate of his found Yuri unconious outside the school. His classmate explained that he fainted in front of her. Victor never recalled Yuri having any sort of medical conditions. He laced his fingers through his hair nervously, hoping Yuri was alright and didn’t seriously injure himself.

“Thanks for letting me know. We’re on our way to get him.” With that, Victor hung up and looked over to his concerned fiancé. “Is everything right, Victor?”, Yuuri Katsuki asked. Victor shrugged. “I’m not sure. I do hope so. Let’s go. We’ll practice more tomorrow.”

Meanwhile Yuri groans, finally stirring. His vision slowly clearing as he realized he was no longer at the train station and instead in the nurse’s office. “What..happened?”, he asked rubbing his eyes. He noticed Kimika and Yusuke we’re back to normal. “Why were you both in those weird costumes? And that guy following me...”

To the normal person, Yuri probably didn’t make a whole lot of sense, but he knew what he saw.

“Yuri!”, a familiar voice shouted. Before Yuri had the chance to interrogate Kimika and Yusuke, Victor and his fiancé had arrived to collect him. His guardian ran over to inspect him, holding his face in place. Yuri growled, trying to push the older Russian man away from him. “Stop, it Victor! I’m fine!” Victor smiles. “He’s fine! Let’s take him home.”, he says yanking him off the bed, holding his hand and gently dragging him along like a small lost child.

Before he leaves, he looks to his friends, as Yuri was was still fuming. His fiancé collected their adopted son’s things, smiling nervously, hoping they could just get in and out of here. “Thank you both again for looking out for my son. Sorry if he gave you any trouble. I’m afraid he is still trying to learn his way around here.”

Avatar

Dad + Yuri has been very curious of Kimika’s living situation, just as she had been with his own. He came from a culture we’re friends new everything about each other and naturally his curiosity was peaked. “Sorry if this is a rude or a dumb question, but I noticed that your daughter isn’t well, like our classmates. Is she adopted?”

Avatar

Asks my Muses mom or dad

Image

Shiro sighed, scratching the back of his head. this question again. “ no she’s not adopted. as hard as it is to believe Kimika is in fact my own flesh and blood. her mother was a foriegn entertainer whom became a big part of my life. most people usually think she’s adopted when  she’s with me and are suprised when they find out she’s actually my daughter”

Avatar

Yuri felt bad he even asked. He could see it pained the man to talk about the subject. It must have brought up some not so pleasant memories.

“I see…”., he says understandably. His frown turns into a weak smile. “Though I’m glad she has at least one blood realitive in her life still.”, he was suddenly reminded of his own situation.

“I’m sorry for bringing it up. Now I know what Victor must feel like when he’s in public with me and his fiancé.”

the older man raised a hand “its alright. this is something ive learned to live with. but i will it  admit its frustrating dealing with the constant  ignorance she and i have to face. ive been so busy with work i haven really had time to check  on how she’s doing. tell me is she adjusting well? im sure she still misses Shujin”

Yuri smiled, relieaved that he didn’t offend his friend’s father. “She’s...doing pretty well. She recently became Vice President of the figure skating club. Our social circle isn’t exactly big there and I’m sure she has more friends as Shujin, but from the sounds of things, she still sees them a lot.”, he explains.

Avatar

Yuri had arrived to practice early that morning. Not to get a head start or anything like that, but to roll up flyers and stuff them into all the ballet class’s pigeon holes and pointe shoes. Yuri wasn’t exactly the type to ask anyone directly and it would be awkward for the only boy in the ballet class to ask a bunch of women to join his ice skating club. The last thing he wanted to do is make it seem like he was starting a harem.

Avatar

Kimika arrived at her usual time.  a few minutes before  most of the class, dress in her ballet uniform. as she put her stuff away  she noticed some paper stick out of her cubby. pulling it out she realized it was a flyer. hm so that Yuri guy was opening up a skating club? interesting. he didnt seem like the type to  be so outgoing. he always sported a scowl or annoyed expression. walking into the studio Kimika approached him, showing the flyer

“skating club huh?”

Avatar

Yuri hadn’t expected Kimika to get here so early. Her question nearly startled him as he did his warmup stretches in front of the mirror.

“Oh, yeah, that…”, he sighs unenthusiastically. “It wasn’t really my idea. The principal approached me and kinda talked, no, forced me into it. Apparently the school invested a lot of money into that ice skating rink in the sports building and no one has been using it. Though I think they just to use me as a marketing ploy to get more students enrolled here.”, he said honestly.

“I was going to ask…would you be interested in being Vice President? Yusuke already said he would be treasurer and costume disgner. Having another choreographer would be very helpful.”

she could see the school pulling this. Yuri is a well known ice skater,so his publicity would be their publicity. the dreamer thought she recalled Yusuke saying something about making costumes..

Kimika’s eyebrows raised. this was sudden. “ vice president? me?”  suddenly the girl started to blush in embarrassment.

Image

“uh.. its not that im not flattered or interested.. its just… ugh how do i say this?” she rambled, running her figners thru her hair. “i…dont know how to ice skate..” she finally muttered, looking away

Yuri knew she would say something like that. He grins. “Nyet, but you can dance, da?”, he questions. “Ballet and figure skating aren’t that much different. It’s all a matter of taking what you know here and being able to do it on the ice...with heavier knife shoes. I, of course, will teach you that part.”

He says as he slips on his practice shoes. “You’d be surprised how much you already know. Yusuke will be able to help to. He already knows the basics.”

Yuri understood his logic. He too hated losing. The Russian athlete had been the youngest to receive a gold medal in his sport and knew that he would have to fight to keep his place at the top. Maybe Kamoshida made the right decision to get out while he still could. Yuri wasn’t sure if he wanted to stick around long enough to see himself suffer the same fate as most athletes. At least right now he was still in his prime.
Then came the question he was expecting. Why did he choose Kamoshida as his coach? He could have literally picked someone much more qualified and even more knowledgeable about figure skating with a clean record. Instead he chose a criminal.
Yuri took a bite of his shrimp before answering. “You’re right. I’m definitely going to lose at least half my fan base once the official announcement is made and I had the connections to train with some of the best figure skating coaches in the country…”, he began.
“If you took away the fact you abused and molested those kids, you knew how to make otherwise mediocre athletes into champions at their sport, did you not? I’m not saying what you did was right and I want to help make things right again as much as I can, but those kids were only high schooler with other aspirations. No one there was looking into becoming the next Olympic gold medalist. They saw it as an after school club and nothing more. They weren’t interested in winning. It’s just a game to them, but not us.”, he says looking at Kamoshida, his tone changing to a more serious one.
“You understand what it takes to be at the top. You understand the amount of blood, sweat, and tears. You were even willing to train along side me. Most coaches are complacent barking orders from the side lines, but not you. Sure you want credit, but what’s wrong with that? You deserve to be recognized for your work. Your art can be separated from your crimes and I believe in second chances. That is why I want you as my coach.”
