Sir Phillip was, in his own strange way, hers. The one thing she’d never had to share with anyone. His letters were bundled and tied with a purple ribbon, hidden at the bottom of her middle desk drawer, tucked underneath the piles of stationery she used for her many letters. He was her secret. Hers.

Ah… Mister Bridgerton. Sir Phillip Crane. Pleasure to meet you at last.

She flushed, and he couldn’t tell if it was because she was embarrassed by his spot-on assessment of her personality or just because she was angry beyond words. 

Probably both.

• He gave up his life as an academic to look after a woman who had been promised to his brother and to look after his family’s estate, when he could slam and just go on with his life.
• He tried in every way to have a healthy relationship with Marina, thought he even succeeded, but then realized that Marina would never deny him the possibility of sharing the bed and therefore she no longer touched her.
• When clearly he could have taken advantage of Marina’s mental state for other times.
• He never had any other sexual or romantic relationship when he was married to Marina.
• Because although he didn’t love her he had the utmost respect for the mother of his children
• Despite his cruel upbringing he always treated his children with respect, sometimes even being too permissive because he wanted to be a better father than his own.
• He would have married another woman without loving her to give her children a maternal figure bc he never had one.
• His passion for botany is not at least the tavern and it is not a way to escape from his duties, but it is his vocation.
• He understands his mistakes and very often apologizes and tries to fix it. Like when he realized he had to be more present and be less afraid of hurting his children, inviting Eloise to swim with Oliver and Amanda
• Despite its gruffly manners it is very sweet, like the fact that it took a long time to write letters very often because they had to be PERFECT for Eloise, letters then always accompanied by a flower.
• He respects women and above all respects Eloise, as he showed by giving her the gun and saying that he would let her protect the house.
• Sir Phillip is clearly feminist.
• He is incredibly shy and therefore does not like to gossip and consequently a gossipy company like the London one
• He lives thanks to Chlorophyll Photosynthesis.
• He knows he is not a perfect man but he also knows that for this he must have a person next to him who can improve him, like Eloise.
• He is not a prince charming, but he is a good person, and in his imperfections he is in my opinion he is perfect.
