I remember when he tweeted this after the Scala show we were wondering what that breakthrough was - what happened at this gig that was so different from the others?

And finally, 3 years later we have the answer. He had been so critical of his own performances up to this point that he couldn’t wait to get off stage. But for the first time he wasn’t thinking about his vocals that night, he was just performing in front of a crowd that was there solely to see him. And as Oli so aptly put it, he smashed it, the fans smashed it, and it were better than one of the One Direction gigs.
