First-Time Interaction starter sentences

“I realise you don’t know me, but please help me, I think I’m going to pass out.” “I’m sorry to interrupt, but I saw someone put something in your drink. You didn’t drink from it already, did you?” “I got robbed and have no way of getting home. They got my phone, so I can’t call anyone. Could I please borrow your phone?” “Shit! Sorry, I didn’t see you there… Are you okay?” “Charlie! Imagine seeing you here!– Oh. Wait, you aren’t Charlie…” “Excuse me, I was looking to get my girlfriend a bra, could you help me– You’re not the shop assistant, are you?” “Watch out for that truck!” “Is this your wallet?” “You look very different to your profile picture…” “Look out where you’re going, asshole!” “Did you see that?! He had a gun.” “Are you the girl/guy from So You Think You Can Dance?!” “Err– I’m sorry to interrupt, but I was just walking behind you and I think you must have sat in something…” “I know I don’t know you and this might sound really strange, but do you have a room or a spare settee or something I could crash on? I could pay you… I just… I really need someone to help me out right now.” “HELP ME!” “Oh my god, are you okay? I’m calling the police. I think I saw who did this to you.” “Are you alright? You look really pale.” “The whole street is blocked off. The police won’t tell us anything, but I think there’s been some kind of attack… Maybe a bomb?” ”Have you lost something? Can I help?” “Are you okay? Did someone hurt you?”.

“Off? I’m… yeah, I’m acting off, and I’m pretty sure you know why.” Connie had strayed dangerously close to the fencing that separated them from the stranger - they had to remind themselves not to touch it. They supposed that if anything too frightening happened, their emotions would take it upon themselves to protect them, as usual - but they still felt unguarded and vulnerable, not knowing how to consciously protect themselves if the need arose.

“You’re not a… demon, are you? Anything like that?” Jesus, that would prove to be an embarrassing question if it turned out there was nothing supernatural about this person at all - but they doubted that seriously. They weren’t sure demon was quite the right word to use, but it wasn’t as if they’d had the opportunity to study supernatural creatures aside from the weird bullshit that happened with themselves.

“Look, I don’t know what’s going on. But just… for the sake of laying low, which I guess we’re both trying to do, don’t try that again, whatever it was. I don’t wanna make anything bad happen, and that’s not even a threat - I’m not sure how to… not make it happen.”

Bao simply gave a confused little look at the other when accused of doing something to the other, which in all honestly, she had totally done, but she sure as hell wasn’t about to say anything about that. There was a Masquerade to follow, can’t just go out telling others that you did indeed do something to them and that you aren’t as you seem. That was a right fine way to get yourself ashed right there. “A...Demon, art thy quite sane?” Bao asked as she raised an eyebrow before shaking her head. “Demon  art but a thing of ones mind, illusions in the darkness and tales told to keep children and the naive in check” Bao seemed genuine when she spoke of demons, as while they did exist in this world she did not believe in them. To her demons were tales spun about kindred who were mistaken for monsters and beasts, just a mistake when someone sees a Gangrel with one two many animalistic features or the Tzimisce’s work with flesh crafting. Now they could truly make things nightmares were made of with their flesh cathedrals. Bleh, what disgusting fiends. “Hm...” Bao now took a step forward, Connies words made her think and ponder. The girl sounded like a fresh fledgling who was embraced and left behind by their Sire with how she spoke. Like someone who had accidentally frenzied or used one of their disciplines without thinking… Bao now watched Connie, tried to see if she was breathing or now and likewise if Bao was paid attention to one would see that she did not. That when she was not moving she stood as still as stone, that there was an unnatural feeling about her and in some cases those who were sensitive to these things might even feel uncomfortable near her, that they could feel hints of her Beast underneath her skin, and the Beast was always hungry. “Thou sounds like some lost fledgling” Bao took the chance to throw out the word ‘Fledgling’, which was commonly used for a vampire who was recently embrace, like a baby bird.

There is no reply from the Nosferatu to Eathelins’ request, not even an indication that he’s heard her. Miles isn’t even sure that he’d be speaking to the kid again any time soon, and he feels like wanderlust shall pull him away soon now that things around here are more or less quieting down.
Hopefully Eathelin goes to get the water out of the river as there’s now a dead rat in the well. Thanks Miles.

Eathelin was certainly going to the river, one because of the rat and two because she didn’t want to walk the same way Miles was, because that sure would be awkward and she much did not care for the little one. What an awful influence on Rowlyn indeed. Eathelin would go to the river, even if there was some concern with it being a little out of town. She did not like being outside of the city walls when alone, too many things prowled the night, but if nothing happened she would return to her coterie to mommy them.

The bundle is the armor Acton had made for him, the pillow they’ve had the adventure making and Eathelin’s coin pouch though lighter and with a little apology note inside. Also a newer note next to that with an excited story of how he found a new kid friend while waiting around a graveyard.
“A bit too pure and trusting.” It had its downsides in a world such as this. Someone might take advantage eventually. “It is not my place to guess what fate has in store. I have given thee the message and should be on my way.” Miles turns to leave now, probably to mildly plot how to raid their haven later.

Eathelin carefully looked through the stuff, in a way she wished he had not given back some of this stuff, at least not the armor as that was meant to keep him safe, even if it was a tad too big for the child. Probably better then nothing in the end. “If you see the child, send him my thanks and silent love” And by silent love she meant give him kind words from her away from others, like his father. Though at the same time she highly doubted the Nosferatu would do this for her or anything past a thanks and soon she went back on her way. Time to get that water and head back, she already planned on how she’d word this to the others. Oh how she missed the child more.

Avatar
When Eathelin stops so does Miles, keeping a nice distance from her since he knows fully well that his words had harmed her. Angered even.
“This could have been a simple exchange hath thee not tried to ignore me.” Miles tells her with a shake of his head. “I am only here on a favor for the little one. Here.” He holds out the bundle to the Cappadocian. “He wished to give these back and to tell thee that he misses thy company. That he is still in the city and perhaps thy paths may cross again.”

Eathelin held back a growl, she felt there was no such thing as a simple exchange with the small Nosferatu as his mouth was a nasty one. One she wanted to sow shut for good. Eathelin now turns around to face Miles, reaching out to carefully take the bundle while trying to look through it, to see just what was the child giving to her, or the coterie. “The child is the purest of us all” She spoke as she thought about Rowlyn. He just felt so good to her, pure and innocent as a child should be. She wondered what it took to get this message out to her. “Tell me Nosferatu, do you think the child’s hopes is rightfully placed? Will we cross paths again, or will the Tremere keep what is there’s under tighter lock and key. A shame, though mayhap it best thou doth not answer, allow me to have hope for an answer may dash it.”

“Funny, thy coterie has been idle in thy haven for some nights now. What is this sudden schedule?” Miles’ footsteps quicken to keep up with Eathelin’s lanky long legs. “Ah but I understand. I suppose I shall tell the child that thee did not wish to receive his message.”
Almost a mocking tone now, “Thus is life to be disappointed. He will think you no longer have to pretend to care now that you cannot manipulate him.”

With those words from the Nosferatu Eathelin suddenly stopped, she could feel the Beast rising in her. Trying to claw it’s way out as she did all she could to hold it back in silence.  Her hands trembled before being balled into fists, she had to keep control. Fighting was not usually her way and she knew Rowlyn would probably be upset if she tried to kill his uncle, especially before hearing what the message was. “Thou tests mine patients and mine Beast, speak before I lose control” This was a threat as she looked over her shoulder and down on the Nosferatu.

Miles was cleaning out his teeth from a rat he’s just drained, spotting Eathelin coming up he smiles tossing the rodent over his shoulder into the well (sploosh) and standing up. Ah but there she goes, ignoring him.
“Now now, hold on.” He walks after her keeping a slight distance and not going to leave her alone. “I have something for thee.”

“No” Eathelin spoke with a slightly stern voice as if scolding a child. Just, no. No to everything. To him talking to her, being near her, him reminding her of Rowlyn, just everything. “I have a tight schedule to keep and cannot idly with your dilly daddling and mockery” She spoke as she lengthened her gate, feeling that if he was going to follow her she was going to make it difficult for him.

After sending the Tremere back to the hut and mentioning that it is not hard to catch on to their hiding place Miles will ponder how to contact the coterie. They did not like him as he was an outright nuisance to them and did not intend to stop being one.
With the information he’s gotten from the kid he ends up waiting for Eathelin up by the well early one night. The blanket parcel on his lap as he relaxed on the wells edge. As for the books…he may have to watch the coterie for a while to see when they are all gone so he can break in for them.

Eathelin left early as usual, kept her eyes to the ground tonight as she over all just felt down. Her shoulder slunk a little as she gave another mental sigh and wondered how Rowlyn was doing, hoping that the child was okay and safe. Why couldn’t the father just have perished in the fire? Things could have been so easy if he had, she assumed they could have kept the child, given him his own little bed and ‘raised’ him, or really guided him along in this world. When she raises her head she is near the well and easily spots the little gremlin there. She stops for a moment and then decides to get water from the river. It was a bit of a trip but it was a nice night. Time to go now and try to ignore the Nosferatu, she had better things to do today then be angry.

Ghoul him? Why yes the thought had crossed Row’s mind of why it hadn’t gone that way. But what was done was done he supposed. And had no chance to reply before being scooped up.
“I am paying attention.” He mumbles at Miles and for now watches his new friend and the ‘priest’ leaving. Freeing a hand he waves to them, “Goodnight, may we see each other later.”
Miles will just shift the kid in his arms to hold on to him better and keep an eye out on the surroundings. He’d wait until they are left alone to ask what in the world the little one wanted.
A delivery of the armor, pillow, leftover coin, and a message to the coterie is all that Rowlyn wants from him. In exchange though he whispers the location of three certain books…what a menace.

“Yeah, of course!” Johnny called, trying to climb over Aurel to be seen, wanting to wave to Rowlyn though after some fumbling from both the child and ‘priest’, Johnny just ended up upside down, laughing a little as he was carried away. One could already tell that both were probably troublemakers, who knows what havoc they could reap together. The coterie on this night would be laying low, since they were usnure of when Antony might come around and attack, especially as he had the child who knew where their haven was. Though with time and a night Eathelin would leave as usual in the early night to gather water, Bao in the middle of the night to collect blood for herself and the others and Acton would stay at home, still trying to copy the books, though he was slow ad kept double checking his work to make sure that it was 100% correct...He had not even finished half a book yet.

“I hope thee stay here a while longer then, I hadn’t had someone who…understands around for a while.” Rowlyn would also love to ask how old Johnny actually was but that’ll come later. Obviously old enough to have moved around and know what its like to be forever small.
“It’s. Not a very fun story.” He rubs an arm now looking sad, “I was sick and my dad couldn’t find a way to heal me. He was already working for the Tremere and took me to his master as a last resort. I got better but I never saw my mom again.” Got better. —–
“A Tremere child could.” One could almost hear Miles’ wink at that. He himself a troublemaker too. The Wat watched Aurel back as they walked.
The worries seem to be unneeded as in the graveyard they can soon hear small kids talking. And eventually they’ll see them too. Miles will use the kids being distracted with their own conversation to sneak around and pick up Rowlyn from behind earning a surprised scream.   It just becomes a pout as the small Tremere glares up at his uncle for interrupting, Miles just smiles like the asshole he is. But he does scold in a very uncly manner, “If you must feel like being out alone then the least you could do is pay attention.”

Johnny couldn’t help but smile at this, he had never thought he’d meet another like him and the normal children could be a tad annoying, he sometimes he stuck out too much among them.  Plus most of the time the other kids just didn’t like him for one reason or another. “We only came here in the past year or so, I think...I still have a few more years before people notice I am not aging” He felt pretty good about this and in his mind if he spent about 5-8 years in a few spots then over time he could come back to an older place, when people have grown up or forgotten about him, or just died, because the medieval ages suck on people living too long. “Oh gosh, I’m surprised they didn’t just ghoul you...Must have been a reeaal bad illness” Johnny now chewed on his lip, and from how they were busted this seemed to be a habit of his. Johnny stopped chewing once he saw the Nosferatu behind Rowlyn, or really mostly saw Aurel and then looked to the other Noferatu as he sweeped Rowlyn up. He probably would have warned Rowlyn, but this pretty well matched the description of the Nosferatu that was needed and soon Johnny stepped back while Aurel came to him. “We have business tonight young one, we should leave these ones be.” Aurel spoke as he too picked up his little one, he felt this was something between family and while curious, dared not hang around like a fly on the wall. “Buuuuuuuuuut” Johnny called and whined at Aurel, not wanting to leave just yet.

“Ah so he is like your dad.” Rowlyn nods in understanding though it was kind of very sad how Johnny had to wait for nightfall to interact with his vampire dad. What did he do during the day. Where did he stay. “He works at the church?”
And certainly Johnny could ask back as well, Rowlyn would likely answer most questions when they did not touch up on clan secrets too much. —-
And so it is the strange Nosferatu then, Miles notes this to himself and that he had a kid as well. “Unless the small warlock had already dragged the both of them into trouble.” He comments as a joke but honestly wouldn’t be surprised as his nephew has inherited his own ability to always get into weird situations. Neither sat too still for long- except a new friend was a worthy enough distraction to keep still.
“He is a brat.” Miles grins in reply regarding the Wat. Callias whacks him on an ear with a paw but plays along the part of an animal for now, to keep his cover for the future. “Haha but for honesty’s sake it is some sort of weasel from Africa, I am not certain beyond that.”

“Aye” Johnny nods and feeling proud about his nervous lanky dad. Best dad in the world as far as Johnny was concerned. Mostly due to being bonded by the Nosferatu more then true love itself. Hard to say how Johnny might feel if he were not bonded to the kindred. “Yeah, only at night though...Some one the nuns find it kinda suspicious but we get by until needing to move onto the next church” Johnny shrugged before leaning on a headstone, finding himself being rather curious himself now. “And you? How did you become like me? A forever kid, or whatever” – “Oh, I doubt the child could cause so much ruckus...Right?” Oh, he was getting nervous over the idea of leaving Johnny now with a possible trouble maker, not that his child was perfect in any way but...Johnny didn’t need an enabler. Aurel was now silent as he watched the Wat, Africa huh? A place her had certainly never been and he commonly wondered what it was like as he heard little stories of the continent, besides the usual racist gargle of it being full of savages and such. He tried his best not to take it to heart and truth.

“Maybe she did. Some people are weird.” Owl you scratches the back of his head pondering this. Though thinking of married people made him think of parents, and by extension his own father and mother. And even the adopted mom Eathelin.
Rowlyn sighs heavily turning to Johnny, asking a question that has been bothering him. “So. How’d thee get into the service of vampires?”
—-
“He is alone?” Miles asks surprised, that enough a confirmation that he at least knew of the child. Last he was aware the little one was back with Antony from the hands of the coterie. So what gives now.
“I suppose I ought to see what he wants.” The older Nosferatu scratches under the Wats chin earning an annoyed hiss. And then he starts out of the tunnel past Aurel, pulling on his mask. “Thank you for the message…?” A questioning lilt to that sentence as he wanted a name. He’s vaguely heard of a Nosferatu who was masquerading as a priest but this could just also be someone’s ghoul.

Johnny smiled brightly now, he found this to be a pretty decent question since he was young but also felt he could ask the same of Rowlyn in a way. “The priest and me go back a bit, we lived at the same church before this...Not this one, we’ve had to move from church to church because of the whole not aging thing. His name is Father Mathew. He took me in and such, looked after me as a kinda adoptive parent even if he can only do it at night and when he’s not working...He doesn’t take me along with him when he works.” Johnny now pouted, he wanted to come along with Aurel when he worked. He felt he could help but the priest always refused. He wished he knew why. – “Yes, I do believe he came alone...He’s currently with my child, who I will collect up to give you a moment of privacy with family” With that Aurel started to walk back out, needing to scoop up his child for other reasons too, like getting him a proper meal if the tavern was still open tonight. “Um, Father Mathew if you please” He spoke a little nervously, keeping his gaze down and even if he had changed his name from his human life, he preferred to go by the older name while masquerading as a human. It just felt right and he wanted to separate the hell spawn from the man. “You certainly do have a feisty ghoul there...What is it?”

Avatar
“Mh.” Rowlyn just winces thinking of the tough rigid structure of the Tremere. Though they totally needed it at the moment with all the shit coming at them.
He turns to the headstones looking for one to read which wasn’t sad. “Here, this one says ‘Olric loved women, his wife did not’.” —-
Callias now gave Aurel an intense stare. Angry almost as how dare all these people be looking for his sire and not for him! He wanted attention too.
He hisses by letting air through his teeth and stands up to head further inside the tunnels to get said short Nosferatu. Hopefully this bothers his Sire to be interrupted while he is inspecting his new weird statuette.
If Aurel sticks around he’d soon see the short shape approaching him. Draped in the clothes he is it’s no lie that he seems like a leper, even leper knight possibly. Or some witch with weird fetishes and items hanging off his belt and bag. The ‘weasel cat’ would be on his shoulder.
“Yes?” Miles asks the priest inquisitively, looking the man up and down with a raised brow.

Johnny stared at the headstone Rowlyn read out, squinting his eyes for a moment as he let this process in his head...Why did that need to be put o a headstone? He assumed this was suppose to be funny and in some ways it was but at the same time what did it have to do with his death... “Doth thou thing he cheated on his wife? Think she killed him?” Already into the darker subjects it seemed of murder, but that was the only thing Johnny could think about when it came to why this was on the slab of rock. -- “S-sorry” Aurel spoke when the cat weasel, or recently named, Wat, seemed so offended at this situation.  Aurel ends up waiting, just in case he sees Miles come by and can inform him of the child yet after a few moments it seems like the Wat might truly be a ghoul, maybe Mile’s ghoul. “Ah, Miles. You’re nephew is here to see you. Or so he claims to be related, in the graveyard”

Avatar
“I can.” Rowlyn nods, “We have to know how to read. I had to or I would have been completely useless to the others.” Yeah. That sounded fairly dark.    “The secrets aren’t always in the books but a lot of them are.” He frowns thinking of the ones Acton has. But just hold on you Brujah thief, uncle Miles’d love to hear you have secrets he would also want.    The weasel cat looked at Aurel with a bored look, eyes widening slightly because what a cute priest that one was- no wait. Bad. He should not be thinking like that. He did not want to be as terrible as his Sire corrupting clergy.
Callias makes a show of yawning in reply, not like he could speak back in either form.

“Oh...Sounds rough, like also weird since that sounds like an odd thing one must know to be useful, sounds kinda flawed to me” Johnny shrugged, feeling that one didn’t need to know how to read to be useful, that there was so many different types of talents out there that could be exported, then again this was the Tremere. “Well, we can still do that grave thing. If you read them to me” -- “Yes...Have you seen Miles?” He felt like he was talking to a ghouled animal and was starting to feel silly, this could be seen as he kept looking around almost nervously while fiddling with his cross necklace. Hm, hm hm.  “Small Nosferatu, dresses like a leper when out and about I imagine...Has hair” He felt the hair part should be enough. Some Nosferatu had all the luck.

Avatar
There was even a little surprised noise out of the Tremere at this being out of the kindness of ones heart. Well he’ll accept that for sure. And he wasn’t even that shocked when the priest vanished completely.
“I guess…we can read the gravestones.” Rowlyn looked at a nearby one. Oh no that one was sad already. Also…. “Can thee read?” As Johnny looked like a peasant and those did not often know how to read.
Meanwhile as Aurel peeks into the tunnels they would of course for all intents and purposes look empty. Even if they were not. At one of them he may see a small cat/weasel creature watching him out of the shadows.

Aurel chuckled when he heard the gasp, what a cute child and one that already seemed to understand how the world worked. Nothing came for free, even this in a small way was just to make Aurel feel better, as if he was still human. He was doing this more for himself then the child, and that ate him up. “No” Johnny just answered and shrugged with a little smile, you can damn well bet that no one taught him how to read, besides sheet music of course and that was just because he was a chore boy, and could possibly always be one, hm. “Can you? I have heard all you Tremere know a lot, big books of secrets or something, you have to be able to read for the secrets...?”  In the tunnels Aurel soon spotted the weird cat...weasel? thing and showed himself as he gave a small wave, was this a ghoul? Or super high level obfuscate...Could obfuscate even make one appear like an animal? something to ask his Sire later. “Y-yes hello” Aurel spoke, still appearing as the priest and probably known around the warrens here as a Nosferatu who couldn’t let go of the past. a weird one who almost never put down his mask of being alive and a priest still. “You are...Sapient?” He could at least try, wouldn’t be the first animal he’s spoken too for sure.

Avatar
“That would be appreciated. What is the price?” Rowlyn wrings his hands together hoping its not something too big for fetching his uncle for him. He should not be going around spilling any secrets at all.
Also there was the matter of feeling exposed just hanging around the graveyard where anyone could find him, “And where should I wait?”

“Price? Oh no, I do this out of the kindness of my heart.” Aurel chuckled a little nervously since he knew he wanted a price, wanted to be greedy but at the same time felt like he shouldn’t, plus this was just him checking one of the entrance tunnels for a nosferatu, easy peasy lemon squeezy. He just hoped this kindness would not bite him in the ass later as he started to walk away. “Stay in the graveyard, so you’ll be easy to find and I’m sure Johnny will stay with you” Aurel spoke before vanishing, not wanting to be seen going in a certain direction for the tunnels and end up giving an entrance location away and soon enough he’d be there, peeking into one of the tunnels for Nosferatu. “Hm...Well I guess the graveyard can be fun” Johnny spoke, trying to make the idea of waiting in a place full of dead people not so bad.
