Fun fact: prior to the financial reforms enacted as a result of the Great Depression the US economy went through very regular cycles of boom and bust. It was the Government Regulations of industry and finance, the increased power and prominence of Unions, plus the Socialized Safety Net that led to the stable period of economic expansion and increase in living standards from the 40s thru the 70s. Then Reagan happened and, well, here we are 🙃
