(askmakuhita) haku approaches the shrine, out of breath from the climb up and spies the shrine with reverence and wonder. they place a modest bundle of red bean mochi on the steps of the shrine and bow respectfully. "um," haku starts nervously, "i know this isn't much to offer, but i'd like to ask the deities who reside here to lend my friend daiki some strength so he can overcome the obstacles he faces in his sumo training."

“sumo stables are mostly for rikishi like me to train than they are for teaching classes, but since daiki is my only student i can spare some time every so often. if you wanna know more, we can discuss it over some tea.”

“shishou and i eat this stew every day after training! it’s also important to have a good training routine to build up your muscles. but since you know harden, maybe you could make a really tough training regimen using it to start, then gradually stop using it as often until it isn’t so tough anymore!”

“to answer your question, shishou isn’t my name. in my native language it means ‘teacher’ or ‘master,’ hence why daiki calls me by that title. my actual name is jotaro.”

“to answer your question, i was born in ecruteak city, johto, but my parents decided to take me and migrate to a small island in alola shortly after. it’s... interesting, because to wear the right flap of a kimono over the left is how we dress the deceased for funerals... n-not that i mean any ill will towards you or anything! i-in any case, if time would allow it, i would like to hear more about your homeland sometime. perhaps... if we meet again?”
